      “Milquetoast dean” is right. One thing I’ve learned while I taught at Armpit College, as well as while I was a grad student, is that many administrators in post-secondary institutions are politicians, being educators in name only. Administration is where the real money is and becoming a department head or dean is often seen as an opportunity to advance into the higher ranks, where the offices are more comfortable and the pay is better.

      That milquetoast of a dean didn’t want to ruin his chances for promotion. Anyone who doesn’t go with the flow won’t go very far in that setting.

    2. The whole law school system is corrupt. Years ago, the LSAT website included a link for alphabet life-forms to get preferred status.

    1. It’s all relative.
      They make about $400-600 /month for the average worker.
      So their food and gas prices are quite high.
      We do slightly better than them when you factor in what we make per month.
      They have the same problems as us with corruption.
      What you need to compare with is what the poorest people on this planet earn and their costs.
      Compared to them , we live like kings.
      Most go to bed at night on empty bellies.

      We are truly a blessed country.
      We are losing that status very quickly because we refuse to call out the wicked and punish them.
      That includes our leaders.
      Unfortunately we will learn a hard lesson, collectively as a nation.
