Attention, People Of Pallor

Are you unenthused by hip-hop tracks about “police brutality and racialised oppression”? Does rapping about poverty and “the woes of Black Americans as artists” not render you giddy and enthralled? Do you not delight in endless repetition of the word “nigga”? I ask because we’re told, by Dr Jeremy McCool and Dr Tyrone Smith, two enthusiasts of “critical race theory,” that a failure to gush with enthusiasm is a result of “systemic bias and inherent prejudice,” and is suppressing such innovation. It is, they say, “The silencing of intellectuals in music.”

I kid you not.

  2. Intellectuals? Really? I will agree that art and modern music often lead the cultural wave and that if rap is the prophet, then we are in deep trouble. Beyond that, attributing intelligence to moral degradation is a false equivalence.

  3. I see that many people don’t pronounce the “c” in crap music.

  4. I listen to a wide variety of music. From Bluegrass to symphony. I even listened to some of the early rap back in the early 80’s before it became so hate filled. One of the things I have always found to intellectually vacuous is the notion some folks have that, if one doesn’t like the music they like or if one likes the music they don’t then one is ignorant or, worse yet, stupid. To me, that attitude is a sure sign of a lack of the capacity for abstract rational thought. Hello Dr. McCool.

  5. But let’s brush these differences aside, at least you’re all united with BLM, CRT, the EU, WEF Davos Uniparty, the Democrats, Trudeau and the Liberals, Soros, Hillary against the evil white Christian bogeyman who dares to defend his own nation and people and the integrity of his borders illegally invade bloodthirsty people who have been shelling his people, shooting down civilian airliners and cutting off fresh water supplies innocent, brave freedom fighters. Oh, and just remember, you can use the word “freedom” when it comes to fighting the Christian white bogeyman, just don’t use that word when it comes to being a “fringe minority with unacceptable views.” Got it?

  6. Correct me if I’m wrong but to infer the quality of intellectual requires a demonstration of intellect.
This is done with the use of reason instead of threats to get your point across.
The raised fist of BLM demonstrates ignorance not only of music theory but of common decency.

  7. Rap is music’s retarded younger brother. There are NO intellectuals performing that dumbed-down idiotic form of sub-music.

  8. I find it amazing that vomit inducing garbage like rap/hip hop has remained popular for so long.
My how far popular music has fallen.
I’ll stick to my prog, classical and jazz, thank you.

  9. I’ve been saying for years that until young black men take normal names and start making great music again, they are in deep doo doo. I stand by that.

  10. Let me translate: “the first of you who stops clapping first goes straight to the lockup downtown!”

  11. I well recall the time when there was systemic racism and segregation in the US, and black musicians still managed to make some of the best pop music in the world. R&B, rock & roll, crooners, they led the way, often out-selling top white performers.

How far they have fallen. Rap/hip hop is not music. It does not evoke the same response in the mind of the listener. It is not uplifting, it is degrading. It is unpleasant to hear, to say the least.

Back in the ’50s racist critics claimed that black rock & roll was damaging to young minds, when in fact it was the opposite. Now, when rap/hip hop actually is damaging, they praise it.

Doesn’t reflect will on western civilization.
