Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

All about me.

I feel like i’ve read half a dozen of this kind of article. always the same self-fellating BS: “The public doesn’t understand how awesome we are. I guess they’re all hate-addled idiots.” Zero self-awareness about how journos have torpedoed their own reputations over last 3 weeks.

And what’s their solution? Instead of being better journalists, the plan is to control social media so John Q. Rando doesn’t have the ability to call journos out without risking censorship or getting his account yanked. They actually think this will *increase* trust in journalism.

  1. Jonathan Kay writes:

“They couldn’t find a single example of any physical attack on journalists. It’s all basically just “they yelled at us because they think we’re doing a crap job.” Well guess what: many of you *are* doing a crap job (though I agree that’s no excuse for rudeness or harassment).”

I agree with his sentiments but he’s technically incorrect. A Sun reporter was assaulted by the cops.

    1. A Rebel News reporter was also beaten by the cops. I might also say that when you do nothing but sneer at the proles, any bad manners you get in return, you richly deserve.

    2. No excuse for “rudeness or harassment”?

well mr Kay, you and yours were warned for years that taking the government check makes you a government poodle, and you didn’t listen…

you were told to stop slanting stories and outright lying about those interested in freedom, but you doubled down on your vitriol towards “deplorables” and “undesirables” but your response was to double down on the bullshit…

you do not deserve politeness and respect, you made your bed, now lie in it

    1. Of course. Rebel News doesn’t provide real journalism. Canada’s #1 quantum computing expert has told us so. So has his buddy Eraserhead.

  2. This from the Globe and Mail editorial board, today: “ It’s time for Parliament to end the state of emergency. “. Not Justin, Parliament.

This shows that Justin has become completely toxic, when even his ideological allies cannot afford to be associated with him.

The doomsday clock is ticking for Justin. Soon, it will be every Librano for themselves.

Why aren’t the Cons doing anything to show they are the party of human rights in Canada? Have they learned nothing from this tragedy?

  3. And not just in the context of the Freedom Convoy.

The tweets commenting on Vladimir Putin’s brilliant speech a few hours ago recognizing the right to self-determination of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics say it all.

It’s been compared to the sort of thing a poor Westernized journalist might have to endure from an unwashed Russian peasant on the train from Moscow to St. Petersburg, nattering about such childish things as national pride and glory, and the wicked things foreigners never tire of doing to Russians given half a chance.

In other words, Putin’s speech patterns resembled the speech patterns of normal Russians who actually know something about their country’s history and aren’t paid top dollar to talk whatever Bolshevik bullshit the Davos type want to hear. He does not talk down to the Russian people. And he treats their enemies with the contempt they deserve.

Putin understands that the globalists hate him and hate Russia, and want him overthrown and Russia destroyed. He is acting accordingly.

And Putin isn’t a single mother whose bank account Chrystia Freeland can order frozen at the drop of a hat. Russia is free of debt, she has mineral wealth beyond compare, and Putin can order the destruction of every western financial capital in a matter of minutes if he has to.

If Chrystia didn’t like seeing her favorite designer bubble tea shop closed for a few weeks on account of the truckers, she’ll like seeing her Toronto riding reduced to radioactive ash much less—assuming she survives herself.

The hacks think that the Emergency Act means their troubles are over. No indeed. Their troubles are just beginning.

  4. I expect nothing less from the so-called journalists of today. They were ‘educated’ in our socialist indoctrination centers and consider themselves to be the vanguard of the progressive movement. Truth is an alien concept to them since it tends to get in the way of their political agenda. It’s easy to buy someone off when they would do it for free anyway.

  5. Read some of this pathetic whining by them.
My Ctrl-F search didn’t bring up ‘Rebel News’ or ‘Alexa Levoie’.
Nor did it find ‘police brutality against real reporters’.

Bunch of pathetic whores that sold out Canada for a few pieces of taxpayer’s silver handed to them by that prancing blackface dancing freak Justin.
It’s one thing to sell your soul, but to sell it to that pathetic clown?
    And for what?
So they can indulge their media narcissism for slightly more than minimum wage.
    It’s just sad.

“Fixing the problem will require a long-term solution that involves a multipronged approach. Newsroom organizations need to beef up security, digital training and protections. Social media companies should be reviewing the role they play in facilitating a “toxic sludge of discourse,” he said, while police consider whether their plans and enforcement are appropriate for a digital world.”
Tell me that isn’t battlefield prep for cracking down on anyone not of the Media Body.

  6. And they will back the government threatening citizen journalists (their competition) into silence:

Prediction: It’s only matter of time before the government starts seizing server logs to get the IP addresses for people who post things they don’t like and freezing their bank accounts. Social media and hosting businesses will gladly cooperate too. What’s the incentive to protect all those evil racist right wingers.

  7. Just heard Turdeau on TV yattering on about something (who pays attention?). What did catch my ear was, “…turned back at the Manitoba-Ottawa border.” Yup, right up there with naming the provinces and territories west to east and omitting Alberta and celebrating “Canada’s 100th birthday” in 2017. I’m sure there are others…

  8. When your job is parroting the party line, which was the same as your J-school professoriate and you like it and wouldn’t consider an alternative to the concrete-bound world-view thus contained, how could you not be alarmed at the visceral reaction experienced actually being in contact with those you are comfortably maligning from afar. The corporate-state media employs Spawn clones who are likely as paranoid of the “other” as their dear leader who apparently can’t even do a little mainstreeting with the masses which means there is no interest in hearing the subjects but only an interest in portraying them according to the scripture and not without undisguised contempt.

Just like the societal bifurcation from the complete politicization of the culture, in Canada we have a fledgling free press and a corporate-state propaganda sector not seen anywhere as blatantly corrupted in the western world.

  9. I heard Jughead voted Yea. He really thinks he will be the exception. That the new dictator won’t dispose of him as a potential rival.

  10. I forget where I found the article, but about a year ago there was a post somewhere showing an interview with an outgoing or recently retired senior editor of – from memory – The Guardian.

The passage that really stood out was when he explained how media should work in the perfect world – Top Down.

To his mind the traditional method was those who had the printing presses selected and filtered the raw reports and published them down as news for the people to read. This was the way and it was good because the correctly trained people selected what was important for the people to know.

    Unironically made this claim.

The new method of media was a flat sideways system where anyone would obtain any idea of raw data and package and transmit it sideways for other uses to both discuss, update and further transfer. This system was wrong and dangerous as it allowed people with no idea what they were talking about to talk in public. The sooner the system returned to the top down method, the better.

    Unironically made this claim.

This is what the media have come to believe. They legitimately believe their years of self assessment and review telling each other that they were a vital part of modern society to the extent that only the summary remained – We Are Important.

The original rational – we force the ruling elite to justify their words and decisions in front of the masses, and this is important – has been completely lost. They are important and vital because they have declared themselves this.

This is why they fear the rise of uncontrolled un-media. It has very little with the transmission of data, but a lot to do with the fact this transmission of data isn’t being done by THEM.

Nu Media could completely parrot the line of Castro’s Son, or the Health Experts, or the Environmentalists, or the Anti Trumps or the anti TERFs and it still wouldn’t be enough. THEY are the chosen ones. THEY are the one’s who pledged to guard the truth. (ironically true. They guard the truth in the same way the Crown Jewels are guarded – it stops the public wearing them down the pub.) They fear the rise of nu-media because they will no longer be important or in control.

Lets be honest, the only reason Legacy Media still exists is they have the global networking that your local streamer with a phone does not. As we have seen, if you want in your face close up news these days you go to small creators prepared to walk their local streets and discover (and report) for themselves. They are great. I thank them, appreciate them and hope they continue.

But they can’t be everywhere. If you are live streaming from the streets while elderly are being trampled then clearly you are not also a city away discussing a blockaded border. This is the limit of the small nu media creator and the ONLY reason Legacy Media still has movement within its slowly decaying corpse.

  11. I had been following the protests closely from my home in Mexico, and after I saw the Woman in the Walker trampled by the horses, I booked a flight to Montreal, and drove to Ottawa, arriving on Saturday morning. As both a former army officer and Peace Officer, I perhaps have a slightly different perspective than many. I wanted to see for myself how the Charter Breaching operation was unfolding.

Fast forward to Sunday Morning. I attended the location of the final protest, and at that time, it was virtually empty. I saw a reporter from a Chinese outlet do a report from the site, and as I was milling around with a group of 6, a reporter from CTV Ottawa approached.

Very polite fellow, and asked if anyone was willing to be interviewed. I volunteered, and spoke for about 5 minutes. I dare say I was clear, concise, and hit a number of topics, including my dismay that my former employer, Calgary Police Service, saw fit to deploy 20+ officers for what was clearly a political event.

Those that listened in were seemingly impressed with the interview, and shook my hand, thanking me for articulating much of what they had witnessed and were feeling. A recently fired reporter with The Hill asked if he could use the interview in his podcast.

CTV did air the footage as part of a 3 minute story that was essentially a passive aggressive hit job on the Convoy Protest. About 10 seconds of my interview was used, however, not a single one of my points was aired – points that might have informed the viewer why protesters and supporters were so motivated and even willing to go to jail for the cause.

We have no unbiased Main Steam Press in Canada. They refuse to report on what half the country is thinking and feeling in an honest manner.

I feel sick and numb right now. What is happening to my country?

Where is Chretien? Harper? Martin? Rick Hillier? Why aren’t they speaking out?

    Damn.

    1. That was a really great thing you did, thank you. I know you must feel pretty deflated since the CTV acted like the scum they are instead of airing your real thoughts, but at least you tried. Again, thank you.
