10. I’m first generation Canadian with parents from Germany and I still stay in touch with cousins and my very elderly aunts and uncles.

    Germans are bat-shit crazy on one very important matter. Flexibility – the ability to reevaluate as more facts come to light, or upon calm consideration of matters.

    I think it’s a bad mix of genetics and culture. I hope like hell for me and my children that it’s mostly cultural.

    When Germans decide to do something, they’ll go on doing it until it works or there are millions of dead. They decided to conquer the world in 1914 and kept at it until 1945. Or maybe the buggers are still at it, I dunno.

    Now they’ve decided to be nutjob enviros. God help us all, because they are clever and energetic.
