At first I thought that this Twitter account must be a parody, but it appears that this particular epidemiologist is absolutely serious. The replies, however, did a lot to restore my confidence in humanity. I particularly liked the one comment about not allowing this dystopian sociopath anywhere near your family.

Boris Johnson has invoked the teaching of Jesus Christ to urge the public to get a Covid booster jab, in a message issued to mark a Christmas he said would be “significantly better” than last year’s.

His words echoed the message from the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who said earlier this week: “I would say, go and get boosted, get vaccinated. It’s how we love our neighbour. Loving our neighbour is what Jesus told us to do. It’s Christmas, do what he said.”

What’s actually going on with this woman’s Twitter account is something that Adam Carolla calls “Chick-Think”. Clearly, not all women engage in chick-think. Kate doesn’t. Margaret Thatcher didn’t. And some guys do: Gavin Newsom, Justin Trudeau, Joe Biden, Jason Kenney, etc.

Hi all! Checking in here to let everyone know that this unvaccinated lady caught Omicron from her vaxxed hubby.
I was the hostess of Christmas for two families on Christmas Day (for the most anxious world-is-ending side), Boxing Day (not so uptight, but still question everything side) and an extended family Christmas Eve get together. (For the eff Covid crowd).
Not sure what those families are doing to fill their dining gaps, but now I have my feet up beside the fire, listening to some vintage Christmas music and enjoying some Baileys on ice.
And so so so much food in my freezer.

I just returned from a Christmas Eve church service. 99% of those who attended did not wear masks. Inside the church the world returns to normal. Outside we face madness.
many of my relatives are ugly, so they’ve been eating in a separate room for years!
The church that I attend puts on a Christmas dinner every Christmas. There are no requirements to come and eat. There is no fee to do so. This morning, I brought a cake that I had baked. I was happy to do so. There are people who don’t have anybody with whom to have Christmas dinner, and I’m sure that they account for many of those who attend. There are also people, I think, who can’t afford a nice Christmas dinner – except for the one at the church that I attend. This, I think, is part of what Christianity is (and probably other religions, as well). I’m proud to have been part of this (although I went right back home to bake another cake for a post-Christmas dinner that I’ll be attending tomorrow), and I’m going to continue doing it until I become physically unable to do so. It’s the right thing to do.
