    Oh no, run for the hills! It’s Catch-22 all over again. There’s no way out. I think it’s time for a defenestration.

    1. Robert, someone will die and I will take odds that it will not be those the government wants to die. I have had it. My fellow Canadians are too stupid to live, let them all die. The government will then be removed by the survivors.

  5. The strain was first identified by scientists in South Africa in May.
    It’s late August, so why the delay in reporting it? Why no quarantine for SA in the interim?
    I’ve been following the Wuflu since November/December 2019. By the time it moved out of China, the source, there were four “variants” recognized heading in four different directions. Then silence, never to be heard from again. Now, almost two years later we get “variants” of “concern” et al and we still use PCR tests to define this disease.
    Not only are the Chicoms snakes, so are our overlords right here at home.

  8. I am so sick and tired of the constant fearmongering from so-called experts and their useful idiots, the media. This has been going on for decades. Ice age, warming, unprecedented hurricanes, OMG a blizzard in winter, heat in the summer if you can imagine it, flooding when it rains too much and to top it off, an asteroid strike might just be imminent. Add in covid, aids, ebola, white supremacist threats, rampant racism, yada yada. You are all going to die!! Unless you give up a whole lot more of your hard earned wages and civil liberties. Too bad people can’t wake up and see that they are being conned and kept in a perpetual state of panic for reasons that are not to their benefit.

    Go 2/3rds if the way down the page and take a look at the age cohort stats. The vaccine is a “wash”. Once you hit ~60 years old, you have as much chance of getting COVID whether you were vaccinated or not. We’ve all seen the research where the effects of the vaccine wears off over time. We’ve seen the research where the vaccine buggers up your immune system. We’ve seen the research where the vaccine mutates around the technology built into the vaccines.

    1. Without knowing the percentage vaccinated in each age cohort, you are just popping off without enough information. It’s a well known fallacy you wouldn’t fall for if it touched on something you understood thoroughly. Here is an example: If you were taking a team batting average, would you just average together the guy who has had three at bats who hit .333 with the guy who has had 200 at bats who is hitting .275? Of course not! It’s would be a meaningless number.

        There are tons of Saskatchewan “influencers” who have a doctors degree but can’t get a real job. Heck, the College of Medicine in Saskatoon spent many years on the “conditional accreditation” bubble.

        If you really wanted the percentage vaccinated in each age cohort group, the data is there. You need to spend some time analyzing rather than sitting in judgement. Here is a start:

  11. I LOVE “most mutated so far!” It’s rare that news headlines make me laugh out loud, but that did it.

    From where I sit, these fearmongers in government and the media are the most mutated so far – away from human beings and toward something else, which we should think of as “our alien overlords.”

  12. Looking at the graphic in the story showing the “cases” vs mortality you can clearly see that latest mutation has a much lower mortality. I don’t have the exact wording, I could try and look it up, but the WHO changed their definition of pandemic in such a way that mortality was not taken at the same consideration as cases. From the look of the mortality, I would say that the pandemic is over and the virus is mutating into less deadly strains, which is what viruses do.

    But, they will keep peddling “most deadly strain ever” if that is what it takes to keep the people under the boot.

  14. I am not sure that there is evidence that ivermectin is a cure all for COVID, but if you look it up on scholar.google.com you will find a page or two of papers with conclusions like this one:

    Ivermectin treatment was associated with lower mortality during treatment of COVID-19, especially in patients who required higher inspired oxygen or ventilatory support. These findings should be further evaluated with randomized controlled trials. – The Lancet

    Still political types oppose the therapy for political reasons, mostly because demonizing Trump supporters is their bread and butter, so they call it a “horse dewormer” rather than a drug that has been administered billions of times for treatments of tropical diseases and even cancer.

    So every time they call it horse dewormer, they are lying for political reasons, the same way they withheld the vaccine approval until the Wednesday after the Tuesday election, to help Biden.

    Ivermectin is a longstanding and safe anti-viral drug.
