Yes Alberta is getting ready to embrace socialism again. No wonder Justin’s fortunes are rising in the Prairies. Soon students will be educated that Alberta is full of racist, Islamophobic, genocidal, settlers.
UCalgary hiring specialist in “critical race theory” and “decolonizing”

I’m glad I finished my Ph. D. just over 20 years ago. With that malarkey being introduced nowadays, I’d be lucky if I would make it past my candidacy exam.
Yah the SHITCON UCP are done. Kenney and his Ottawa Trash have finished off the Conservatives in Alberta.
Kenney never kept a single promise and he was as useless as tits on a hog. Just Like Harper. “JUST NOT READY”
I’m the hell out of Alberta , enough is enough . Calgary did not get killed it got murdered . First notley then zoolander then covid , 1 2 3 punch
Edmonton used to be a blue-collar town. Most of the shops in the industrial area not far from where I live have either closed or moved elsewhere. Now there’s lots of prime commercial and industrial real estate, including buildings, available.
Let me get this straight, Nova Scotia kicked out Liberals in favor of conservatives, and Alberta is leaning back towards NDP? What the actual fuck, guys? Doesn’t matter how bad Kenney is, socialists are worse.
“Doesn’t matter how bad Kenney is, socialists are worse.”
Truer words were never written. Kenney’s performance has been far from inspiring however those who make a habit of slagging him have to consider the alternative. And it ain’t pretty. Nutley would waste no time in bringing Alberta to its knees as she unleashes an orgy of revenge and twisted socialist ideology.
That is why this post’s headline is tongue in cheek I think. With no vote splitting most conservative Albertan’s will hold their nose and vote the UCP back in.
If the only alternative was Notley, and the NDP gets back in, Alberta will freeze in the dark! Wild Rose has the only shining light of change for Albertans. They won’t be afraid of cancelling equalization payments, getting the oil sands running again, and, if needed, hold a referendum on separation to keep the Federal government honest. I’ve talked to a lot of people who aren’t happy with Kenney but are deathly afraid of Notley and her wacky ideas.
Strange times ahead.
Our current political choices remind me of an old joke about a damned soul being greeted by the welcoming demon into Hell.
The demon was showing the newest inmate his options for eternal punishment.
“At the moment we have availability in two areas…here’s the first.” The newly condemned soul saw a pit with the hopeless sufferers standing up to their necks in flaming sh*t.
“And over here,” continued the demon, “we have an opening in this area…” Here was another pit where the hopeless souls were also standing, but here they stood in a pit of sh*t up to their waists.
“Which do you choose?”, asked the demon.
“Well, it’s hardly a great choice, but this is Hell, after all. I’ll go for the second pit with the waist-high sh*t.”
“Fine, get in there and enjoy eternity!”, spoken with intended irony no doubt.
Accordingly, the newest victim settles himself into the pit, and scarcely before he’s been able to contemplate his new surroundings, a whistle blows. All his fellow damned come to attention. “All right, break time’s over”, shrieked a demon overseer, “All of you get back to standing on your heads!”
The other day I looked at what was going on in the department at my alma mater from which I got my degree, U of A, and from what I saw on the website didn’t recognize the place.
The only place on the U of A campus that I’ve been to regularly in recent was the student dental clinic, plus the occasional time that the bus or train I’m in crosses it.
I have no idea of what’s been happening there, even at my old department.
Indira What’s-her-name pushed for more construction in her irresponsible campaign to make it one of the world’s top 10 universities. From some of the accounts I heard, some of those newer buildings didn’t take long to start falling apart. But she got paid well for it, didn’t she?
Oh, please shoot me now!
Noooooo.
Oh hell why not…go full commie. That’s the problem with success…you bring in leftist halfwits from other Provinces. Alberta is Canada’s California.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. It starts at the local level only because that’s generally where they start. And in this case shit goes uphill, once they’ve established themselves they set their eyes to the Provincial level and if they’ve managed to bullshit enough people by talking out of both sides of their mouths, we’ll all have to deal with them eventually at the Federal level.
Get involved.
Why? Because all the Hindu and Muslim settlers of the last 75 years … are told they’re not really “Settlers”. As BIPOC’s … their settler status is waived. They get a pass. After all, they’re not really “Settlers” … more like “Invaders”.
So late term Settlers can join the Indigenous… because they’re not white, and not Christian.
How is that not racist?
If Alberta votes NDP then they deserve everything they are going to get, and it will not be pretty
Red Rachel will first punish Alberta for its display of ingratitude 2 years ago. Once she’s finished with that, she’s going to unleash Hell. Maybe by then I’ll have moved from Indianton/Redmonton.
Not worried. All those rough, tough oil workers and cowboys that lay down in the long grass while turdo and red raiche pissed all over their province will rise up!
Any day now …
Jamie have you ever been in the west? Or are you one of those xperts who’s never been west of Toronto,
Why don’t you propose something positive instead of just bitching from Ottawa?
She never really left.
One of Kenney’s biggest mistakes was not cleaning out the civil service of Notley acolytes. That’s how we ended up with Dear Deena.
I think… and this is only my opinion:
The recent election in N.S. of Conservatives, instead of the poll leading Liberals who were in power during the Chinese flu scamdemic…
I had a look at 338Canada’s website which tracks a few polling companies (it’s not opening any pages easily for me so I’m not linking to it now)
It looks to me like whichever party was in power during the covid lockdown madness is set to lose some seats with the possible exception of the province of Sask. (I didn’t check all 10 provinces)
The federal gov’t of Canada #Libranos included…
It may be a reaction to being told to wear masks, to shut down borders, arresting people for skating outdoors on rinks, arresting all sorts of folks who are not in the favorited gov’t group of protestors, to spending a debt in equivalent amount to the prior 150 years including a couple of major wars, and to hear the constant idiocies from the various health departments and their mouthpieces in governance.
Nobody likes being told to stay inside, or that their business isn’t permitted to open, yet still has to pay taxes…
It could be that AB wanted to elect a conservative type gov’t and have Premier Kenney instead. Brian Jean who lost in the fight to lead the UCP here, has had some things to say on his Failbook page often enough about this, I like Brian Jean, I’ve had a couple of beers with him (at Shanks north west prior to it shutting down!) and value his opinion far greater than Premier Kenney’s.
After the referendum in AB for equalization and daylight savings, then we’ll see if these polling numbers change.
If the numbers stay the same? I won’t know what to say then…
As Oz said above in commentary, Kenney doesn’t have to face polls until 2024
There could be another federal election prior to then, who knows who’ll be in Ottawa then, or Washington DC. … Not the imbecile Biden, that one I’m certain of.
Had high hopes for Kenney , useless POS
Nonsense. Calgary flakes notwithstanding Alberta is still about 60 percent conservative. Notly got in because that 60 percent was split between two right wing parties.
Pretending that Alberta was ever NDP country is something the CBC liked to indulge in but it was never so
People who moan about vote splitting, are just wrong.
Research. Find the best candidate. Find the guy who will not waffle. Find the one guaranteed to stand on principle. Vote for what you believe in. If you compromise on your principles, then you never actually had any.
If you vote for someone that you do not trust, someone you don’t believe will keep their word, then what does “splitting the vote” matter.
100% agree. Good comment!
“Soon students will be educated that Alberta is full of racist, Islamophobic, genocidal, settlers.”
Would that be first settlers or second settlers?
De-fund the universities, they are not fit for purpose.
The idiots within them don’t even understand their purpose.
I haven’t donated a penny to my alma mater, the University of Alberta, for years. After what I went through while I was working on my doctorate there, it doesn’t deserve zip from me.
“If you vote for someone that you do not trust, someone you don’t believe will keep their word, then what does “splitting the vote” matter.”
Splitting the vote guarantees a victory for the socialists 99 times out of 100. If I was an Albertan I would much rather hold my nose and vote for the UCP with the express purpose of keeping the socialists on the opposition side of the legislature. A piss poor conservative is still way more desirable than a socialist. A conservative, even a lousy one, can still be reasoned with using logic and common sense. A socialist on the other hand is incapable of rational thinking and is solely focussed on imposing a failed ideology guaranteed to punish hardworking and successful citizens. Keep in mind that the local socialist party could run Reinhard Heydrich as a candidate with Pol Pot as the leader of the party and a socialist would still cast his or her vote for that party.
Funny how vote splitting only ever affects one side. How does that work exactly? Does vote splitting use the same selection mechanism as covid when it doesn’t infect BLM crowds?
“A piss poor conservative is still way more desirable than a socialist.”
Another question. The same people who insist the national socialist German worker’s party “is not socialist just because they use the word in their name”. Have they informed you that simply calling yourself conservative, does not guarantee there won’t be plagiarism charges?
We need a double blind trial. Scrubbed copies of the CPoC platform and the Liberal platform. All the pictures, names removed. Party names just changed to ‘Party A” or “Other Party”.
Could the policy positions be reliably attributed to the correct party?
Would we beat coin toss, in people correctly attaching platform to party?
No Body in this up coming election is voting for BLM and vote splitting is a consequence that can decide an election. Go ahead and vote for whatever regional party you favor but keep this thought in the back of your mind. I just may have cast my valet to ensure that Justine Trudeau will be the Prime Minister of Canada for at least the next 4 years and maybe longer!
Re the U of C, Kenney needs to remember that he holds their budget. We really don’t need to fund every leftie with their hand out, who despises our opinions but expects them to fund them. Taking out the trash is a solution to his polling problems.
Ok I’ve met Jason Kenney and he is a real conservative. I know covid crap has been a let down but seriously? NDP are coming back?
“Real conservative, my ass.”
Precisely.
Further to this “Kenney is a Conservative” bullshit…
Kenney doesn’t even have to pretend he represents the right. Realistically, you’ve got full-blown commie Red Rachel and then Kenney. Where does that leave voters?
The far right and center right, because they loath the commies, will vote for Kenney almost no matter what. Most centrists, on both sides of the line, will hold their noses and vote for Kenney as well and likely for the same reason, especially with the EnDeePee disaster so fresh in recent memory. Red Rachel’s support will come from the center left, far left and a few protest votes against Kenney. Kenney will also lose a few votes to WIP.
In my not so humble opinion, it’s the protest votes and the WIP votes that are important come next election. One of two things needs happen next Alberta election: 1) We need to scare the shit out of the UCP so they kick Kenney’s ass to the ground & bring in a true conservative leader who actually represents Alberta interests (whereby retaining the protest votes and the WIP votes), or 2) Get enough grass-roots support for the WIP & vote them in.
I’ll take either/or. I’m tired of Liberal lite both provincially & federally. I’ve noted it before and it bears repeating: if it takes another round of Red Rachel’s commies to bring conservative voters & politicians to their senses, so be it. And I say that not lightly.
Many times, in order to heal, one must hit rock bottom first.
Maybe we misunderstand our modern progressive conservatives.
Perhaps all they seek to preserve are their own perks, privileges, their place at the trough?
Are we mistaking politicians for statesmen?
Notley’s brief hold on power was another true reveal.
She had to import wreckers from all across Canada and the US,because Alberta has not produced enough native ones.
And the anger, contempt and frustration always surrounding that empty ideologue ,overpowers any “message” from her beliefs.
Never Done Paying, is exactly what we get from these champagne socialists..
The irony of our effete elites, never having done a thing of value or consequence, they feel empowered and adequate to impose their help, the great vision, upon those they leech off of.
We should be one of the richest nations in the world, here in Western Canada, instead?
We become smaller and more impoverished every year..
Forward.
