Yes. The Russians had a done a MUCH bigger tree-ring survey very near by, but the gaping sphincters Mann and Briffa narrowed the US survey down to 12 trees – then chose just one to develop the graph they wanted.

As yet another example of our bought and paid for media, when I pointed out in the comment section of a yet another CBC doomsday climate article that the Liberal policy is to INCREASE the shipments of oil which will increase emissions, the moderator disabled my comment. I then pointed out to the moderator that I was referring to an article which stated exactly that on the CBC website. No doubt the article will disappear soon.

About twenty years ago, an IPCC team made a presentation to Environment Canada in which they pointed out the global changes which they were projecting to occur over the next century or so. Someone pointed out to the Deputy Minister of the day that the warming would have a large beneficial impact for Canada by lengthening growing seasons and over time expanding northward the fertile region of Canada and increased crop variety.
Much obfuscation ensued from the putative authors of what would become IPCC AR4, and nothing like this made it into the staff report to the Minister. This is why the whole thing has become an advertising gimmick. “Global warming” became “climate change” became “climate disruption” became “climate catastrophe”. The tactics are essentially no different than trying to sell you a different brand of laundry detergent.
The weaker the case gets, the bigger the lie gets, in direct proportion to shrillness and cancel woke you to death censorship.
The 100,000 year was an easy tell. No MWP? Oh that was just regional? Ice core samples say umm no. Aww, they got damaged.
