More young Canadians died from ‘unintentional side effects’ of the pandemic, not COVID
The latest data from Statistics Canada, released Monday, is titled “Provisional death counts and excess mortality, January 2020 to April 2021,” and found there were 5,535 deaths in those younger than 65 years of age.
There were 1,380 COVID-related deaths for that same age group, according to StatCan.
That’s more than four times the amount of deaths.
The report from the Canadian Vital Statistics Death Database suggests that “the excess mortality is, in large part, related to other factors such as increases in the number deaths attributed to causes associated with substance use and misuse, including unintentional (accidental) poisonings and diseases and conditions related to alcohol consumption.”

If a policy kills X of the faceless masses, but X+1 are kept alive (or it can be made to appear they were kept alive), the policy is a success.

The first 3 sentences quoted dont make amy sense at all.
Nowhere does it say the 5300 deaths are excess deaths. So what does the 3rd sentence mean? Its like the sentence isnt complete.
If you were to look through the attributions and read the Stats Canada release itself (rather than relying on a newspaper reporter to get things complete/right) you would see that the original report indicates that the 5300 deaths are excess to expected.

Lots of “mays” and “could haves” in that article, which means they’d rather not just straight out admit it. Then there were the people who didn’t die but had to be hospitalized; “Stay home so we don’t have our ICU beds overrun by COVID patients!” meant that those ICU beds would be eventually occupied by people whose staying at home contributed to them winding up in the ICU.

Talk to ER doctors and nurses and they’ll tell you that I’m right. Even before CD-19 they dealt with a good number of patients showing up because of drug and alcohol-related issues and it’s gotten worse.
This was obvious from the beginning. Talk to anyone in the public health sector. All of the categories, spouse abuse, child abuse, drug use, alcoholism, suicides, have all soared in their incidence over the past 18 months. And this does not include the undocumented increase in mental health problems from enforced isolation and the shutdown of civil society.
The medical profession has much to answer for. But one of the perhaps most lasting consequences is the loss of trust. Who will accept any more the statements of WHO? The claims of an expert such as Anthony Fauci or Teresa Tam? The claims by any government of their intent to defend individual civil rights? The claims of the media about their support of free speech?

Being an unrepentant cynic, I already know that most politicians are incompetent and dishonest. I also know that most people are gullible and trusting of authority figures. Yet it still amazes me that people will take these shots with such blind trust.
I’m also glad that all if my kids were home during this period. Family support and parental guidance can certainly help keep everyone centered and content in troubled times.
Couple that with cultural nihilism, loss of jobs, loss of spiritual foundations and outreach (consider the locked-down houses of worship) and your blind trust and complete lack of a curious nature explains these deaths.

The Delta variant of Covid is tearing through young people in the United States, where so many people have been conned into refusing vaccinations that are readily available.
Hang on, the article referenced here is about StatsCan itself saying that there were more deaths among young people than they would have expected in the average year from drug overdoses and alcohol consumption, and they’re tying it to the lockdowns. So sure, those “preventative” measures may have meant those young people didn’t catch Covid, and even then unless they had co-morbidities the odds of them dying were extremely small to begin with, but they died anyway. Talk to any ER doctor or nurse and they’ll tell you that in the past year and half they had more people coming in needing medical attention because of drugs or alcohol.
