Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What kind of business model targets its smallest demographic and risks alienating its largest?
I’ve been told that only gay men would slap each other on the ass after a successful play ….
yeah … I’m pretty DONE with the NFL
Maybe so but I can’t see the NFL stadiums being full of gay men paying for all this. Bullet meet foot.
This Ohta play well with all the black players in the league, because it’s well known how much blacks love love love homosexuality.
Well, white women love them anyway. all those strait men will have to deal.
“White women love them anyway.”
LOL fine by me. They’re just helping me separate wheat from the chaff. Thanks!
Football IS gay, not as gay as soccer but still pretty gay.

Hut hut hut
Go deep!
Problem here is the NFL’er that came out as gay this past week is also a conservative. So… false alarm. Wrong kinda gay.
Fumble!
That might explain why there’s so much blocking and tackling. And then there are those tight ends…..
Don’t forget wide receivers.
And Dick Butkus!
As a kid who wore #51 on his HS uniform … I DARE you to try that “gay name” joke on Butkus. Go ahead … tell it to his face … the 78yo would knock you clean out.
The end around is so 2020. The new goto play is the reach around.
The Statue of Liberty play has been cancelled. The play has been toppled. Banned. As there can never be “Liberty” for native peoples after the white men erected the statue.
Football is communist.
All North American professional sports are communist, actually.
Revenue is shared almost evenly, every team has the same spending limit, only member teams are allowed, no outsiders are invited in, they are run by dictatorial strong-men (“commissioners”), the lowly laborers were initially paid peanuts (only in the last three or four decades have the laborers realized the power of their position), the leagues are aged behemoths who refuse to, or very reluctantly and slowly, change with the times.
Now the times call for surrender to the cultural Marxists.
Eskimos, Indians, Redskins, and masculinity is out. Bended knees and Elks are in. I wonder how long it will take to “disappear” certain historical figures (Harold Ballard, Don Cherry), erasing them from memories and photographs (a “purging,” if you will.) I would say “go woke, go broke” but big-league sports are a hugely powerful cultural force in western society. It will be morbidly fascinating to see how things turn out.
Oh, c’mon….old news. Of course football is gay.
We (some of us), were in high school, once, looking askance at the football guys, wondering why they liked gym class so much, and the phys Ed teacher, while the others of us were skipping that shit and smoking reefers in the parking lot, getting the attention of the girls.
Am I right?
It was them with their jock rock and us with our prog rock and country rock.
They went bald and grew bellies selling carpets, and we kept our hair, got the girls, and chose wood floors.
See…stereotyping is not nice.
But I got the girl and still dance with her on the wood floor, while remaining indifferent, still, to football.
Happy summer.
I resent that! I was a HS football player … and NEVER listened to REO Speedwagon. Nope. Pure Prog Rock for me. And my wood floors are THICK. None of this bullshitty “engineered” hardwood (read: plywood) … nope. Full 3/4” T&G Red Oak. And my blonde, Dutch, girlfriend could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.
Yes, football is gay.

Enjoy your sportzball, faggots!
The whole “taking the knee” for the national anthem didn’t quite put them out of business, now they are really going for the gusto on alienating their -entire- audience. Will the NHL be far behind?
The NFL is basically an arm of Big Media. The whole media is flying the pink rainbow, NFL is stuck doing it too. They couldn’t do anything else at this point. Media stopped caring about the audience ~2016. That the NFL is going to be in receivership doesn’t matter at all. The only thing that matters is the virtue signal.
Good thing I don’t like football, or I’d be pissed.
I traded the NFL for the EPL. Now … I hope CTE demolishes what’s left of the NFL
I never thought a bunch of men running ten feet then piling on top of each other before getting up and patting each other on the bottom was gay. Who knew?
10 yards…
Its “sports” showbiz doing what the institutional left tells it to do. I’m surprised that they are still in business but then, I’m not a customer and I don’t envy them submitting themselves to woke nihilism just to watch overpaid gorillas move a ball up and down a field. It was fun to play when I was a kid and really boring to watch.
L – So, the players and coaches decide leave and form their own league owned and run by
the players and coaches.
United Artists was the talent that made movies and rebelled against the movie contract/studio exploitation, by forming their own company. Talent can always draw an audience.
Identity politics requires political intimidation, police and an army, none of whom actually
want to take a bullet/blade/or suffer and die for some Commissar. Especially, for one who
can no longer pay their salaries because the audience and ad dollars moved on.
“Form their own league”
Good luck with that. Others have tried……
All-American Football Conference (1946-1949)
United Football League (1st iteration, 1961-1964)
Atlantic Coast Football League (1962)
Professional Football League of America (1965-1967)
Continental Football League (1965-1969)
World Football League (1974)
United States Football League (1983-1985)
Regional Football League (1999)
Spring Football League (two weeks in 2000)
XFL (1st attempt, 2001)
United Football League (2nd iteration, unrelated to first, 2009-2012)
Stars Football League (2011-2014)
Fall Experimental Football League (2014-2015)
The Spring League (2017-present)
All American Football League (2007-2010, no games ever played)
United National Gridiron League (2007-2010, no games ever played)
A-11 Football League (2013-2014, no games ever played)
Alliance of American Football (2019, 8-weeks of games)
XFL (2nd attempt, 2020, 5-weeks of games)
Impressive list. But you left off Arena Football
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arena_Football_League
PS … if ALL those “alternate” Leagues FAILed … why is the WNBA still operating? Or the NWSL ? Nobody shows up. Nobody watches.
For those “Football is gay” cheerleaders – try playing in a Provincial final on a slippery frozen field Saskatoon field with snow and wind with crap high school gear and every part of your body numb. But you still have to make blocks, run plays and try catching a ball as hard as cement for 4 quarters. Definitely NOT a game for prancing pink pussycats shooting rainbows outta their puckered arses. Oh, and the least gay player is some 43 yr old supposedly washed up old timer going for ring #8 after tearing up the NFL’s best teams with 8 straight wins culminating with the first ever home Championship win against the press proclaimed Kansas City golden boy. What’s really gay is the rush to pretend the most masculine team sport on the planet has none. Bunch of prissy idiots.
” … the most masculine team sport on the planet …”
I’d be betting on Australian Rules Football for that title.
Ernst Röhm would have argued with you about that. He was rough, tough, took no shit and liked his young boys.

The stands will still be full. Just like they are now after all the bended knee performances.
Not everywhere. Sure, there are places like Green Bay where the fans are loyal and pack the stadium, but then there are places like Jacksonville and Miami where they can’t give tickets away. The Redskins have removed thousands of seats from FedEx Field in the past number of years in order to try to keep up their “sellout” streak, when anyone watching on TV could tell the stadium wasn’t full and for some games the opposing team’s fans were as numerous as the hometown fans. Then there are the teams which have moved around during the past decade or so. Goodell et al were crazy to put two teams in LA again (although good for the citizens of St. Louis and surrounding area for not bowing to the demands of the Rams’ ownership to build a new stadium and instead telling them to get lost). Then there’s the Raiders.
Were there people who gave up the NFL after the knee bending started? Yes. But I think what has hurt the NFL more attendance-wise is the widespread availability of large flat-screen TVs and home theater systems.
Well, don’t know about Jacksonville, but according to my NFL fan son-in-law, Miami was bleeding fans long before the knee-bending started.
You’re probably right about home entertainment being the major depletor of stadium crowds. But, they’re still watching NFL.
My buddy had seasons ticket to the Argos and we went to several games at the CNE stadium a couple of years ago. Couldn’t get 5,000 fans from an area of millions of people. Though we had great seats as there is only, what, 7 actual minutes of action in a game it was really boring so he didn’t renew the tickets. Used to be fun when Leo Cahill was coach and I had season tickets and we would sing, “Goodbye Leo”. Maybe just getting older.
Yet there are people who think the NFL would be successful there. No, it wouldn’t.
At least the CFL is capable of getting games done in under 3 hours.
Pro Wrestling be all like…”check us out”.
Rugby players have claimed that for decades
