That’s a bit of a false equivalency argument. Yes, the Investigative service does report to the VCDS through its chain of command. But, in no way will the VCDS ever be a judge in the case should it be sent to trial. The trial would be conducted by a military judge or may be turned over to the civilian system should the seriousness of the case warrant.
Another issue is that we, until recently,it seems, operate under a system of law where the accused is presumed innocent pending the weighing of facts at a trial.
Let’s let the investigations play out before we pronounce guilt or not. That’s how Western civilization’s legal system is supposed to work.

They were only going to be having “virtual” events anyway. I have a suspicion that these government agencies are cancelling Canada Day just to get out of doing any work. They are using the aboriginal issue as an excuse. Otherwise, they would be planning some event that focuses on aboriginals. As I recall, Aboriginal performances usually are included in Canada Day.
