Kenji, I think that emotional instability is not just a problem with today’s younger women. Like yours, my first wife was bipolar and it was a nightmare for years, divorce became the only solution. My departed Mother who lived to 99 had serious depression during her late 40’s and early fifties. One of my sisters-in-law has and still suffers from schizophrenia. That is three women in one family. And people wonder why I drink. Thirty three years with my wife of today.
When I was younger, I courted or went out with women who turned out to be real fruitloops. Looking back, I can safely say that I avoided a lot of misery when things didn’t work out between us.
And, yes, I’m sure the aforementioned dolls would have been a far better alternative compared with them.
And over 30, the percentage is higher.
Add to that number anyone who has ever used the term “fur baby” without intended irony, sarcasm, or satire, and the percentages approach the high 90’s.

Has anyone done a study of the female personality-types drawn to positions of power in society? Like feminism itself, I highly doubt these women would be an accurate reflection of the average western woman’s beliefs. Yet, in defiance of my ‘theory’, I can find no more male politicians I have respect for than female. In my lifetime, Klein and Trump are the only male politicians I truly respected, which is exactly how many female politicians I respected…. two… Deborah Grey and Margaret Thatcher. No doubt there are others worthy of recognition, but these are the four that top my list.
What about Trudeau? I think you’re wrong. Male liberal politicians are just as likely to be airheads. They’re also not terribly masculine.

I remember when womyn politicians were supposed to be … kinder … and gentler … much more compassionate than men. And then …
The crap they’re force fed growing up smacks them upside the head when they hit the real world of adulthood. You have to put some effort into life sweetie. All the great things to be had won’t simply be bestowed on you because of how wonderful and special you are. No amount of blaming and impotent rage will change that.
It’s a combination of feminism and all that princess sh*t they’re raised on.
And wait until they get into their 30s and “you can have it all” starts running up against the biological clock. Then there is the internal conflict between publicly saying they want a SNAG (Sensitive New-Age Guy) with what a bunch of them really want: a man, which means they’re at war with themselves. Not to say all SNAGs can’t be responsible, hard-working family men, but a take-charge kinda guy is an aphrodisiac. One other thing: Helicopter parenting. How many of those under-30s have never learned to be self-resilient? Or have never experienced economic hardship? May still be economically supported by their parents? And even if they are on their own, aren’t living the lifestyle or working the job they envisioned while in college?
Finally, social media, which exacerbates the idea that everyone’s life around you is sunshine and roses while yours sucks.
So we are now just discovering that humans are emotional reactionaries , and not logical entities. Good lord, were have people been hiding all this time. Shit, when wimins hit about 45, they start fretting the future, and act accordingly, been noticing that for the last 50 years, and liberal men aren’t much better then their female counter parts. The X hit 45 and shit hit the fan, and thankfully she insisted ending the marriage. And I was dating a 45 year old recently, and same shit, worried about the change in life that was coming, and she fled the relationship. And good riddance to that one as well:-)))

I’m long LONG outa the game but I think that today young western white men should probably seek Eastern European women. I’ve met a few in shops and restaurants here in Vancouver and my impression is that they escaped this endemic mental illness.
I am careful not to offend these ladies, so my opening line is often “what is that lovely accent”. Recently in a small Thai restaurant here in Vancouver I made the acquaintance of a lovely young lady from Moldova. She beams and greets me by my first name when I enter for a meal. I greet her by her first name as well.
Being from the “old country” myself, I often have an opening line like yours. Since the lady in question is probably from overseas herself, I figure we have something in common. I give myself credibility when I slip into my old German accent and explain that I’m naturalized.
