A few years ago, Canadian Tire moved the outlet in my part of Edmonton, along Calgary Trail where it had been for 20 or so years, to what has to be the worst shopping complex in the city, South Edmonton Common.
It erected a two-floor big-box store and a lot of people don’t like it. At the other location, I could easily find things, but at SEC, I feel like a rat running in a maze. I have no idea where anything that I might be interested in is any more.
The staff at the latest store are even more clueless than they were at the old Calgary Trail location. For years, CT used to have self-serve checkouts and then it took them all out. The reason, lame though it may be, was that people “forgot to take their change”. Odd, I’ve never noticed that in any grocery store I’ve been in which had them.
I could go on, but I’m rather disgusted with what became of that chain.
