Hong Kong: The Democrats’ Blueprint for America

As time marches forward, watch for striking similarities in America (and Canada) with what China has imposed in Hong Kong:

Thanks to the Hong Kong authorities’ clampdown on the pro-democracy movement, there seems to be an almost daily increase in restrictions on life, from a suspension of trial by jury to indoctrination in schools. There are also attacks on livelihoods, as authorities not only chase the wealthy in the pro-democracy movement but also restrict working-class incomes, too, through a refusal to increase the minimum wage.

With no pan-democratic camp in the Legislative Council – Hong Kong’s equivalent of parliament – since last November, the authorities are free to discuss restricting speech under the guise of a ‘fake news’ law. That’s not all. Hongkongers may soon be forced to register their names when buying pay-as-you-go sim cards. While the firewall that blocks much internet access on mainland China is unlikely to be extended around Hong Kong in the near future, it is a possibility if protests were to pick up again. In the meantime, dissent is being strongly discouraged in all manner of ways.

  1. In Ontario the Ford government floated doing away with trial by jury due to ‘covid’. Judges in Ontario dissented from the idea and the Ford government backed down, for now. Jury trials are presently suspended and not yet put to judge only.

    1. Mike, the most telling thing about your post is that you said Ford government, and not ontario conservatives:-))))O

    2. Apparently in Manitoba they did away with meaningful trials in minor offenses. Police do not show up in traffic offenses. Their written statement is sworn testimony not subject to cross-examination. Maybe the reason for this is that they are lying in court most of the time so truth is irrelevant. Where do they keep finding these Conservative leaders who are left-wing fascists?

      1. Scar. Doug Ford is a “progressive” conservative. Not to be confused with a conservative. Using progressive conservative at the same time is almost as big of an oxymoron as honest politician.

        1. I was very afraid President Trump was going to be a similar politician.

The childish Democrats let their hate get the better of them. Their insane unreasoning rage and constant attacks drove him to the right.

          Kate’s headline is 100% correct.

    1. There are no votes that count, moron. How does voting between two millionaires who are bought and paid for by the same banks and corporations count as a “vote?”. Shake your fucking head.

  2. It’s truly depressing to say nothing of world as we know it ending, to see the USA turn into Canada.
Who knew the tiny little parasite would so mortally infect the elephant host?

When one political side has to do this, can the killing fields be far behind?

“If big tech continues censoring conservatives, that means our days on these platforms may be numbered. Please take a minute to sign up to our mailing list so we can stay in touch with you, our community. Subscribe Now!”

Censorship, restricted and banned travel, laughable free press and speech etc,etc and all good Canadians/conservatives/people are as quiet as the execrable Canadian Media on yet another Liberal scandal.

    Hey Stupid!
    They’re coming for ya.

      1. I’m not sure if there is a God that cares about such things, but if so the strategy must involve saving it for the home stretch as, frankly, sanity and all things good are getting smoked like a Trumpster at a media picnic and as Liberals pay their indulgences with cleansing but non habit changing Thieves Anonymous meetings, someone should cry Freedom!

        Not in Canada eh?
        Pity.
As usual we’ll wait for the US and do whatever they do,halfass.

  3. In all the CBC scolding coverage of Trump’s musings about Chinese social media and the need to control them in the free world, I never heard any mention of Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, etc., being either shut out of China completely or being so obsequious as to be a self-parody.

  4. Where to even start?

Spiked is the magazine of Britain’s Revolutionary Communist Party, a Trotskyist group (and supporter of the Provisional IRA) that has done a fantastic job of infiltrating the British conservative movement, to an extent the Larouchies never approached in the States. They supported Brexit because they thought Brexit would destabilize British capitalism and bring forward the revolution, which didn’t happen.

Britain has no obligation to five million Chinamen. Certainly she does not, if she had no obligation to protect the British liberties of 200,000 white Rhodesians she left for dead in communist “Zimbabwe” in 1980.

And what would they do in Britain? Buy up the British-owned businesses ruined by Wuhan flu for pennies in the pound? What measures will be taken to ensure CCP agents don’t arrive with them?

Heroes my grandmother. Hong Kongers got very rich as middlemen between Red China and the outside world, the deal being that the dragon would eat them last.

Guess what? The dragon is still hungry. Very hungry indeed.

The British government’s obligation to the British people is to recognize China and the Chinese as the greatest misfortune and enemy not only of Britain but of western civilization as a whole, and to deal with them accordingly—in alliance with free nations like Russia and India who take the Chinese menace seriously.

Slay the dragon and the Hong Kong question becomes moot. It’s hard to think of a scenario where the Chinese menace is crushed—with the CCP defeated in war, China conquered, the survivors expelled and the Middle Kingdom divided among its conquerors—and where Hong Kongers continue to live in the manner to which they are accustomed.

So be it. Better them than us.

  5. It’s not like people did not know where this country was headed when Justin declared his undying love for China in 2013.

Not that Canadians care. I’m sure that they chuckled when Justin could not tell the Japanese apart from his Chinese bosses.

Oh, and happy Korean New Year.
