    1. Ezra seems to be one of the few fighting back against the insanity and it is insanity.

        1. In our area the crops have been phenomenal the last 8-10 years and it’s -30 Fahrenheit here this morning so if that’s global warming So be it.

          1. The crops have been phenomenal since they got rid of the Wheat Board. Something about selling crops for half the price an elevator 10 miles away in North Dakota paid.

          2. -45 F here north of Edmonton at 6 am this morning. If this is global warming, Trudeau should be forced to live here – without natural gas.
And kudos to our power linemen. Have been power outages in surrounding areas since 2 am and they are getting things back up. Brutual weather to work in.

          3. It’s -23 C right now in Edmonton. “Badehose Wetter” (bathing trunks weather) as my mother would jokingly say.

  1. It’s -23°C (-33° Windchill with the slight breeze).

At this moment 94.6% of Alberta’s electricity is being produced by fossil fuels. Wind is at 4.2% of capacity and producing 0.7% of total generation, while solar is at 0.0% of capacity and producing 0.000% of total generation. At the same time we are importing 786 MW or 7.1%

Thanks to our neighbors for their excess capacity.

I know it’s tweeter but here is the source. https://twitter.com/ReliableAB/status/1358282852111179781?s=20

    1. https://live.gridwatch.ca/home-page.html

In Ontario you get a pretty good live feed. WInd is just over 16% (and apparently out-putting 87 mega watts over capability, how I don’t know) but as we all know that 16% needs to be backed up. By what? Gas is my guess as its only out-putting 3% of the grid but its capabilities are more than three times wind’s total.

      1. Yup, they built the gas here to back up the wind with little fanfare,. Wind needs to backed up installed MW for MW & requires spinning reserve for fluctuations in wind. They put gas units in Toronto suburbs adding to air quality problems around Toronto. They changed the EPA limits so the pollution isn’t a problem.

  2. The movie was shown on Turner Classic Movie’s Noir Alley 2 or 3 years ago. It was OK. Maybe of interest to Sinatra fans.

  3. Suddenly is an interesting Richard Sale (screenwriter) film. Sale was a pretty good pulp writer (Lazerus #7 and a few other books, and lots of short stories) who drifted into film and TV writing. He and his wife wrote and produced the TV show Yancy Derringer.

  4. At least the UK is doing something about the virulent spread of corrupt communism.

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2021/02/06/ccp-threatens-revenge-after-uk-bans-communist-propaganda-outlet/

Here in Canada, it is the federal Liberal govt spreading the communism.

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that Justin Trudeau put getting Chinese million dollar donations to his trust fund over the health and safety of Canadians.
    The mind boggles.
How crazy are these Trudeau Liberal voters?

    1. rockyt, it is not just liberal voters, at least 65% of Canadians think the same way, or don’t think as the case may be.

  5. This is a very interesting description of the Pfizer ‘not legally a vaccine” being injected into people.
The mRNA package is actually a medical device used to stimulate the body’s own defenses.

    https://principia-scientific.com/covid-mrna-vaccines-are-legally-not-vaccines/

I wonder if it is legal to force people into having a medical device inserted into their body.
    Inquiring minds want to know.

Also India refuses to OK the Pfizer medical device for use in India until Pfizer shows more data about the actual tests they have done with it.

    1. rockyt, that is a very good site I have had it bookmarked for awhile now. Lots of verifiable information there. Anyone who thinks there is a vaccine for the cov2 virus needs to read what is posted at that site.

  6. And now your Canadians are racist bastards story for today. CP24 in diverse Toronto reports that the Afro Construction Contractors Assoc. head states that racism is running rampant in the construction industry.

  7. It’s -26C in Calgary.

Wind and solar are currently supplying 5 MW of electricity in Alberta. Wind power is operating at 0.3% of wind capacity. Only 2 of 23 wind farms are running.

Total Alberta electricity demand right now is 9818 MW. Wind and solar are supplying 0.05% of total electricity demand. Note most Albertans are heating their homes with natural gas.

I wonder how the greens are heating their houses?

And for all those who say we need more wind and solar plus battery backup: wind power requires cement, steel, and rare earth minerals. This requires much more mining to make the cement and steel. The greens in Alberta are trying to kill coal mining.

No coal mining? No cement, no steel. No new windmills.

    1. Problem is…you can point this out forever and it doesn’t have the intended effect. In fact…it has no effect at all.

      Progressives just keep moving forward.

      1. Progressives have perfected moving forward in reverse don’t you know. It’s the first advantage of becoming so enlightened!

    2. Look at the top table. (@ Feb 7, 13:05)
DCR (Dispatched (and Accepted) Contingency Reserve) is currently 494.
      MC (Maximum Capacity) is 16403.

In other words we only have about 3% reserve capacity available from our generators.
Good thing we have neighbors to draw power from.

  8. We can watch Alberta die, like Kenney’s Death Watch. Or we can fight back by getting Alberta out of Canada. A vote for Kenney/Notley is a vote for the Death Watch.
A vote for WIPA is a vote for our children and grandchildren.
Alberta has talked for too long, They have not listened for 116 years. Time to get it done.
Danielle you may have not noticed but Alberta has been landlocked for 116 years. We have nothing too lose.
Except our status as a colony of Eastern Canada and Quebec.
Vote for our children and grandchildren’s future forget Canada, like they have forgotten us here in Alberta. Doing the same thing over and over for 116 years has not worked.
Take the path before us and make a new trail. Vote WIPA.
    https://calgaryherald.com/opinion/columnists/opinion-with-a-separation-vote-potentially-looming-we-have-two-years-to-fix-albertas-future

    1. Remember that a vote to secede must immediately be followed by secession, not negotiation. If they want us back in, they can pay the price, the price being a loose confederation with federal powers limited to the military, currency, post office and very little else. Canada started out as a union of countries independent within the Empire. We are now colonies of Ontario and Quebec. The US started out as a union of independent countries and a similar thing happened.

      1. Doubt it, Canada has no military that couldn’t be swept away by a few thousand determined farmers. I am often shocked at how few wolves it takes to keep 33,000,000 Canadian sheep in fear.

    2. Danielle says “we have two years to fix Alberta’s future.” But there’s an opportunity to throw sand in the gears of Confederation in 8 short months.

There will be an equalization referendum on municipal election day, October 18. If Albertans turn out in large numbers, and vote overwhelmingly against equalization, it will force the feds to negotiate with Kenney.

Of course they will negotiate in bad faith and nothing will change, but public opinion will harden against Ottawa, support for separation will rise, and WIPA, as credible separatists, will likely emerge as the only party that can wring real concessions out of the feds. Or failing that, leave.

There’s also a senate election on that date. It should be a two-way UCP – WIPA fight, with WIPA in a very good position to win both senate seats up for grabs. Of course Trudeau will never appoint any elected senator no matter who wins, which will further enrage an already angry electorate, to the future advantage of WIPA and the separatists.

So mark the date Alberta patriots, October 18, 2021, and vote NO on equalization, and vote for WIPA candidates for the two senate seats. They may be entirely symbolic votes, but they will help get the independence train rolling.

      1. Oct18— the old man would’ve been 102 had he lived.
Is that date symbolic? Sure sounds like it. Brilliant!

      2. Wring concessions? Please. That time passed twenty years ago. Actions are needed, not another #%#%^#&^# meeting.

  9. There was an anti-conservative attack ad on TV last night.

Proof positive that an election is imminent.

  10. Justin fan girl Rosemary Barton at Blackie’s CBC, discusses this morning how we are all going to die from the China virus with the socialist NDP leader, has a Democrat congressman explain that Trump launched a race war, and a report on how the Super Bowl team has a racist name.

  11. CBC breaking news! CBC news goes agog over megastar Dan Levy hosting Saturday Night Live!
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/dan-levy-hosts-snl-1.5904578

(Actually, father Eugene was terrific in the old anti-establishment SCTV — 40 years ago. But SCTV was anti-establishment, and father Eugene went downhill, following big money, to star in CBC establishment fluff. Here son Dan is crowned as a Mr. Establishment star. Lots of money in big media to be had).

  12. In looking at recent photos of Trudeau it finally dawned on me that he has something in common with Trump. He is colouring his hair. Is this an election/image strategy? Does Sophie prefer younger men? Is it simply personal vanity?
In the future I will think of him as Prime Minister Clairol !

    1. Well it could be Grecian Formula. Old Hockey great Maurice Richard did an ad for it and the he was penalized two minutes for looking so good.
I would give Trudeau a major penalty for his mess.

    2. Justin is 49. Hard to find a man of that age who does not have some grey hair; I suspect that he has been colouring it for some years now. Expect male pattern baldness to follow, as his father and maternal grandfather had significant receding hairlines as they aged.

He may even be sporting a rug or extentions to go with the very ugly December 1918 natural beard, possibly also dyed. We all know that his ego and persona is tied to his hair and appearance.

      1. Since he likely fakes his “endowment” with socks, why not two-pay?

    3. If that is the only similarity then you haven’t been paying attention. Read many of the accusations against Trump and you will find they apply to Trudeau. Who is on record for groping a woman (groper gate)? Who is in record for assaulting a woman (boob gate)? Who is on record for being racist (blackface)? Who is on record for being corrupt (too many to mention)? Who is on record for being misogynist (Raybold-Wilson, Philpott, Caesar-Chavannes)? I could go on but I think you get the point.

  13. And now another Canadians are racist bastards story for today. Post Millennial reports on the University of British Columbia professor who doxxed twelve of her students on social media, so they couldn’t get jobs in the education field. She accused them of white supremacy because they wouldn’t agree that Canadians are colonial racist bastards.

    1. Actually it’s more than bit rare to see junkies actually smoking on the train; having ridden the train three or more times a day for the last 25 years, I’ve never actually seen such a thing. I worry about them passing out or dying on the trains, as one fellow was close to doing on the train I was carrying my groceries home on the other day, and it’s not like there’s any shortage of the buggers, but they’re usually a bit more circumspect.

  14. Fox News reports that Wetback Joe has stopped deportations of migrants who commit crimes and stopped some arrests at the border.

  15. Apologies if someone posted this already. This article is dated Feb. 1, I saw it a few days ago but only found time to post it now.

    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-pmo-e-mails-reveal-frustration-with-public-health-agency-as-pandemic/

This report is about a release of documents ordered by a House committee in October (October!). Most of this is probably just the usual disinformation, covering for Trudeau and throwing the health bureaucrats under the bus. Whatever, who cares, right?

But the final paragraph is stunning:
“The government said it has provided more than 30,000 pages to Parliament, but only a small percentage of those records have been published to date as most have not yet been translated.”

One wants to make a joke — what, not yet translated from Mandarin? But this is an genuine window into how things in the Federal government bureaucracy are actually done — it’s all in French. All of it. One already knew that a disproportionate number of senior Federal bureaucrats are from Montreal, thanks to Official Bilingualism. But this suggests that it’s not just a lot of them — it’s all of them.

    1. They are most likely all in English however they can not be released until they are available in both official languages.

      1. I like my explanation more than yours, but yours is probably the correct one! 🙂

        Oops, wasn’t thinking.

  16. I suspect with the merger of Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler the plant in Windsor Ontario days are numbered Fiat Chrysler has just completed a 5 billion dollar plant in Detroit and with our liberal government addicted to taxes the writing is on the wall . The sad part is the people of Windsor will continue to elect Liberals or NDP
