Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

That what’s she said then! So what? What difference at this point does it make?
I mean like really, are we supposed to hold her to her words? We always knew they meant nothing.
/sarc off but really that is their best defence.
Frenchie, you do know that hypocrisy is the main trait of democrats, right next to the ability to lie while smiling at you.

What we all would love to see.
File this under “Petard, Hoisted By One’s Own”.
“It was mine! It was Mine … I was not defeated & I will chose Her replacement.. Calling all RINO’s” Hillary
Democrats, the party of not learning anything since 2016.
Sometimes when people utter niceties preceding their opinion they risk revealing themselves as true hypocrites. This is an example.
Can’t beat the classic:
“If it weren’t for double standards, Democrats would have no standards at all.”
Thing is no one cares. Democrats are lying hypocrites who change the rules all the time to suit themselves and everyone knows it and those who vote for them don’t care.
Justin, they changed the rules of the senate, and it about to bite them on the ass!
Yes and as soon as they can, they will change them to something else to suit them. There is only one rule with Democrats. You lose unless you are too strong for me to beat up.
Will President Donald J. Trump retweet this?
Antonin Scalia passed away suddenly.
Contrast that with RBG having died 2 years ago, they freeze her and thaw her out last week. Big difference.
President Trump and his aides have had a list of replacements for RBG ready to go for 2 years.
They’ve been denied the satisfaction of an appointment which they knew was coming.
One big difference – we know for sure Ruth didn’t die of Clintonside .
One day we’ll find out what Hillary knew of Scalia’s death ahead of time.
Atta girl Hillary.
It’s not a truly equal comparison, though. Scalia died 9 months before the election while Ginsberg died just outside of a month. That’s quite a difference. So, if 9 months was too close to an election for the GOP, then certainly 1 month is way too close.
” if 9 months was too close to an election for the GOP”
Ginsberg should have retired 2 years ago. She has been collecting her salary but not doing her job for 2 whole years.
Election has nothing to do with this situation. RBG’s death is neither sudden nor a surprise.
Ginsburg has been hanging on for 2 years to DENY President Trump his Presidential right to replace her. Everyone knows this.
But nine months wasn’t too close to an election, the Democrats back then insisted. So they won that argument, and now a Republican administration is following their example. “As ye sow …”
It says that where in the Constitution? You can’t be that dense, or naïve?
Democrats tried to shove through a nominee when they didn’t have a Senate majority.
They continued that effort well into September, so spare us.
Democrats would surely shove their nominee through if they could, but they can’t.
So what if McConnell is being disingenuous. Republicans can and will, as Democrats would have done, even after losing.
This is not some new development in US politics. 29 nominations to SCOTUS were in a presidential election year.
Fully one-third of all presidents have made such nominations in a presidential election year.
Harry Reid didn’t include SCOTUS in his filibuster proof fair weather Democrat crap.
Obama recently said 50% plus one gets it done, that the president has the job until their replacement is sworn in.
All the Democrats thought it was just fine for Obama to nominate Garland, and Republicans hated the idea.
IOW it’s ALL party power politics, always have been, at least since bipartisanship went into stasis decades ago.
Now Democrats risk revealing their collectivist policies to Independents while trying to stoke up the DeMarxist base.
Even if Trump doesn’t get his nominee through the Senate, he tried and that will be good for his electoral prospects.
Now CNN and Dems are reduced to repeating third hand exhortations from RBG’s grandchild to not confirm in 2020.
Why belies every other public comment she has made, such as in 2016. It’s all there folks, just look up what she said.
She said the president is certainly within their purview, last year or otherwise, and 8 SCOTUS justices “not a good number.”
If this seat goes unfilled, then the election could end up in a Supreme Court without tiebreaking votes, which is what Democrats hope for, to so destabilize the election of a President they don’t like that citizens will give into their temper tantrums and give them the power which they neither deserve nor are fit for, but for which they lust above everything else, including voters’ will and the state of the union.
Shamrock, well said!!!
As has been repeatedly pointed out, Ginsberg could have chosen to retire anytime since her first of five bouts with cancer in 1999. She could have done so early in the Obama years, when the Democrats had control of the Senate and could have chosen whomever they wished as her successor. Instead, she chose to hang on — even this year when she grew progressively (no pun intended) more ill and incapacitated. I guess she had the vanity to imagine she would survive until after November 3 — and even more unbelievably, that she would then have President Joe Biden and a Democrat Senate to deal with. That’s a real blind spot of those who do not acknowledge reality — failure to recognize that, in time, death comes for us all, and the world moves on without us. Not one of us is irreplaceable. R.I.P.
Twitter could change their blue checks to red sickles, and no one would notice.
I love the Turtles response.
It politely boils down to FU Democrats.
Seems the madness of the Demonically possessed has penetrated even Lindsay Grahams shell.
Rules for radicals is the Demons playbook.
Funny how they suddenly don’t like their own new rules.
Small wonder the modern democrats and the Son’s of the Desert Pedophile are so close,as lying when weak and crushing their enemies when they hold power(strong) is the book both are singing from.
Problem with lying, nobody believes anything you say.
“By any means possible”.
The current tolerance by normal citizens, will be remembered as the “good old days”..
By any surviving members of our progressive cadres.
Four months is too long for people with cases before the court to wait for justice. The people elected a Republican president and Senate. End of story.
Obama couldn’t get his nominee approved by a Republican Senate. Obama wasn’t big on negotiation. All he had to do was nominate someone the Senate could live with. The Senate and President have been compromising for 250 years.
I hear that supreme court nominees have been installed at least 29 times in the last year of a term when the presidents party and the Senate majority party are the same. So what is different this year around. Oh yeah the Dementocrats don’t have the POWER…! 🙂
That looks good on her…or in a word “Hillaryous!”

That is the kind of eulogy you get from a souless sociopath.
RBG was such an Ideolog that she wanted to chose her own replacement….Even the Democrat party would have a problem finding someone so ethically challenged… Only one person is that Stone Cold…. Hillary Clinton
The party that happens to be in power at the time should be filling an empty supreme court seat ASAP because their constitution says so. Any body saying they shouldn’t is wrong and is going against their constitution. So in 2020 the republicans are right and the democrats are wrong. In 2016 the democrats were right and the republicans were wrong.
No. You’re WRONG. The Republicans were right in 2016, and they’re right in 2020 too. Why? Because it is the Senate’s job to advise and consent to the Presidential nominee for the SCOTUS. Or not. There are NO OTHER “rules”, “norms”, or other procedural nonsense that apply.
The beauty of our THREE branches of Government and the wisdom of the US Constitution.
The Republicans hold the Senate … somewhat tenuously. If they have the votes, then they have the votes. If they have the CONTROL over the vote … then they have that too. Too bad, if you don’t like it.
Now git er done!
That’s what I mean. It doesn’t matter which side is in power if a seat is empty then it should be filled. The other side (whichever party it may) be is wrong if they are trying to come up with excuses why the seat can’t be filled. Both sides have done it. And I agree with trying to get that seat filled asap.
If the Senate were held by the Demoncraps, we all know how the narrative would go.
I like Harris’s new Indian name. Big Chief Spread Eagle.
For the last time — it’s “as I say,” not “as I do!!!”
“And what kind of rube makes promises to voters … and then keeps them??!? Doesn’t he realize he’ll have to make up new promises going forward as he fulfills the old ones?”
It could lead to the one thing Progressives fear the most by far: their mortal enemy — Actual Progress!
