      1. Only Harper and Justin Trudeau were not part of a government operating residential schools. The rest are equally as guilty as Macdonald. Residential schools predated Macdonald and lasted until Chretien. The Indian Act was passed by Alexander Mackenzie, a Liberal. Why do we hear nothing of him?

        The accusation has been made that Macdonald deliberately starved Indians to death to force them to sign treaties. Bulltweet! Were Indians starving? Yep! But it wasn’t Macdonald who personally shot all the buffalo. It was large populations moving onto the Great Plains that could not be sustained without agriculture. Subsistence hunting was not to be a hallmark of the industrial revolution.
