    1. I haven’t seen that movie in years. It’s a real hoot! On top of that, the musical performances are absolutely terrific.

Watch for Colm Meaney in a minor role.

        1. It was directed by Alan Parker (Bugsy Malone, Midnight Express, Fame, Mississippi Burning).

  1. I am so tired of this whiteness idiocy. White fragility, all whites are racist, no black or brown people are racist. Systemic racism, taking a knee, BLM, the SJW woke scolds of the twitteratti, etc, ect, ect!
Sure there is racism out there, but these people who don’t have a life, have little to no history education, low intelligence, and want to make themselves matter, to themselves, and want to force their “woke doctrine” on all white people. If you disagree, you’re racist, if you get indignant that’s white fragility, because you’re racist, and are defending your racism. White guilt should be owned by whitey. How about “Cultural appropriation” that has been going on for centuries by all cultures and colors, now, it’s taboo, I guess we are getting to the point that it’s culturally inappropriate to dine in restaurants of other cultures as well. It will never end, and their constant need to find fault with the white race will continue to exacerbate the issues.

Well I got news for them, I’ve been around a good while, and have had the good fortune to see a lot of the world and different cultures as a Merchant Seaman. All races, all cultures have racism entwined within their societies. India has a caste system, and can be racist to other lower caste groups, sure they are all “brown people”, but with that caste system in place, they’re racist toward their own people.
How about South Africa and Rhodesia, er, sorry, Zimbabwi, whitey is hated there. Yes, the white forefathers did many wrongs including racism to the African people, but Africans are just as racist in return, and now they have taken back their lands from whitey, they are showing their racism in full bloom. If a whitey denigrates Muslims they are called racist, but the reality is, Muslims come in all colors, and those practicing intolerant fundamentalism, have fully earned that denigration. Closer to home in North America, BLM are Marxist under a transparent veneer of white bigotry and racism.
How come all us “cracker’s” have got to bend the knee and accept it as NOT racist? How come only black lives matter, why is it intolerant to say “All lives matter”? The Chinese and Japanese cultures have always considered “Outsiders” as inferior, and that’s a form of racism too! (point of note, I’m referring to the actual Asian cultures here, not the individuals, just as within the white race, there are degrees from virulently racist to zero racist, and the majority in all races I believe, are NOT racist, but slapping that label on a whole race of people is lazy reverse bigotry and racism in itself! In the end it is tribal, the more intolerance applied toward a specific group, the more they will revert to a defensive attitude of their particular group. This could get ugly, and result in civil war!

The Democrats or the left, have managed to keep the truth of history away from the majority of the African Americans, and those that are poorly educated are easily misled into a belief that Republicans, or the right, are racist. Even to the point of attempting to destroy statues of Lincoln, a Republican, and the father of emancipation. The US fought a civil war to end black slavery, and fortunately the abolitionist won, but now, even after electing a black President to two terms of office, they’re more racist than ever. They hide the fact it was Democrats that created the KKK, and segregation! I would venture to suggest that the blacks that have managed to get elected to the Democratic party of congress, are the true “Uncle Tom’s”, not the Republican party blacks! In truth, the Democrats in the US, and Liberals in Canada, are the ones that own this systemic racism upheaval, and the Antifa mobs, and It suits their purposes as well. I caught a great line yesterday from Victor David Hanson, about Antifa, “The woke, but Godless, The arrogant but ignorant, the violent but physically unimpressive, the Degree’d but poorly educated, the broke but acquisitive, the ambitious but stalled! These are history’s ingredients of riot and revolution”. Boy he nailed that perfectly! Antifa and BLM are the shock troops of the left, and why this is tolerated by anyone is mystifying. For me, I refuse to modify my life in an attempt to pacify these idiots! I will not censor my thoughts, speech, and actions, to comfort their ignorance and hyper sensitivity! If they don’t like it, I don’t care, and they can all go to hell as far as I’m concerned.

      1. Supreme bullshit! The root of the word is to divide, and that is exactly what “Diversity” does.
When you have different rules and laws for different parts of the same society, it creates animosity and…..division! No helmets for Sikh males for bicycles and motorcycles, preferential treatment for certain groups, indigenous and religious, hiring policies of exclusion of certain people. I mean no disrespect to any particular person or race, but it seems that these days, you need to be a blind, deaf wheelchair bound quadriplegic trans person of color to get hired, and even then, they gotta have diversity training! Whitey males are S-O-O-L! and whitey females are close behind. Mind you, I would not want to work at a woke company! Everyone no matter who they are, should be treated equally, fairly, and respectfully. When they are not, that is when issues arise. I have no time for anyone with a chip on their shoulder, or that have this “Woke” attitude that seems so pervasive these days. Hence the expression of, Virtue signalling. I’m right, and you are wrong. How do I know this, because I feel, therefore I’m a better person than you. It’s all such bull-twaddle! Sorry, I’m getting into a rant mode again, but this crap just royally pisses me off.

      2. The “diversity is a strength” mantra is a phrase that no one on the left can answer to when questioned “”why” it’s a strength, or why any institution is “better” if it’s diverse. They can never provide hard evidence of their claim; their only answer is to repeat the original mantra as proof.

        1. Quite a while back, I spent an entire day trying to find some answer other than diversity is good because it’s diversity and found nothing. There’s plenty of evidence that unity is actually a strength and the only things I find concerning diversity is strife. It’s hard to imagine those who spew this nonsense do not even ponder themselves the very thing you point out. Something’s good because it’s good? Bet there’s a name for that fallacy…

      3. Diversity is great in some things. I enjoy diversity in food. Spaghetti, chow mein, pad thai and pho. Pork knuckles and cha siu. Filet mignon and Wagyu. Cheese and tofu. English breakfast tea and Chinese green tea. Lobster and exotic Chinese seafood. Clam chowder, French onion soup and miso soup. Because there is no absolute truth in food.
I enjoy diversity in literature. Keats, Li Po and Rainer Maria Rilke. Ivanhoe and the Three Musketeers. The Alexandria Quartet and Brothers Karamazov. Aeschylus and Shakespeare. Mark Twain and Lewis Carroll.
Diversity in building a jet plane, say, is bullshit. Or even just a radar. Even twenty years ago in aerospace they tried that. They formed “teams” of different managers, so I was supposed to be answerable to the woman who headed the people who printed copies of design reviews on how I managed engineering. Before that, we had real tiger teams, bringing together experts at different aspects of the radar. No one question the, say, Receiver/Exciter guy when he talked about it. That was why he was there. Of course, you had to pick your team carefully, but that was not for sake of diversity but pooling knowledge. Bowing to diversity in race or sex at the sacrifice of expertise is utter nonsense.

        1. I wish I could upding this.

There is diversity in knowledge and in the arts which anyone can and should enjoy. Leftists will decry Shakespeare in schools but Shakespeare’s works have endured and appealed to so many all over the world. Their multiculturalism extends no further than a bowl of pho and would certainly not entertain living in the Third World conditions the average Vietnamese person has to live in.

There some things (ie – technology and values) that simply do not transfer in real life, as is demonstrated around the globe. Why is the US an attraction for migrants? Because its laws and cultural norms are often fair and unoppressive, which more than one could say (for example) of Iran. That sort of diversity finds no purchase in reality.

    1. Intelligent people work to make things better in real-world, practical ways. They don’t blame one group for the problems that exist. They don’t set up false symbols of oppression and whip people into a frenzy attacking historical symbols, where meanings are complex and current understandings of historical truths are not well understood. They don’t “take a knee” which is another symbolic attempt to humiliate white people. The current racial situation is being used by Maxists and anarchists to damage democratic societies. BLM is causing more problems than It is solving.

  2. Cult indoctrination, sounds reasonable.

There is a defense against this though. You don’t participate, you don’t even go along quietly. You simply defy them.

The Indian lady stuck in the Brown Fragility seminar? (Saw that one coming, didn’t y’all?) Her mistake was not walking out and immediately climbing the management ladder at work with her claws out until she got to a manager with a brain. Can you imagine how fast a CEO would pull the plug on something like that when the brown lady walks into his office in an icy rage?

They don’t have any real power. They’re trying to shame you into putting your own handcuffs on your own wrists. Once you realize that, you’re free.

  3. EVERY race has “racism”!

Real racism where people have actively killed people of another race because of their race. There are inumerable historical and modern examples everywhere in the world. Otherwise most “average people” would rather mix with their own race first when considering day to day living, it’s the most instinctual form of tribalism regardless of it’s negative connotations. Few people of any race prefer mixed race relationships, although few people do. They dictate for everyone else that “white people” need to be multiracial, though no other cultures actively promote it. Quite the opposite in all other non-white races.

So the BLM “woke” multiracial totalitarian retards can kiss my @ss.

    1. I think there’s more of a case to be made for shared culture than shared race. (non military background here, but) If someone has been in a shooting war then the comrades that they depended on to watch their back in that conflict would be trusted far more than a stranger of the same skin tone.

When you don’t know anything about someone, then the visible similarity of race is a place to start. But I look more at how someone dresses and carries themselves than their skin tone. Your mileage may vary.

  4. I was a big fan of Muhammad Ali. Imagine if you will that he changed his name from Cassius Marcellus Clay to get rid of his slave name. But it was the followers of Mohamed that put his ancestors in chains in the first place and sold them to Democrats. Not guys like Cassius Marcellus Clay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7A7kn6zQe4

    1. Yes, Muslims are the biggest slavers in the world. That was true when Mohamed founded Islam, and when we fought the War of Independence. And it is true today.

  5. Trudeau is an apt example of what cancel culture is, and isn’t. Cultural appropriation (blackface, etc) is forgivable depending on who the offender is and the standing he/she has (see also Northam and Behar). Regardless of the offence, some are just too important and they are granted absolution. Cancel culture is not a moral standard but a bat being swung by the woke mob to demonstrate its power. Some of the woke who are being cancelled are just collateral damage.

The same can be said for BLM and the cowardly media and politicians who bend the knee to them. They don’t care about the innocent black children who are murdered in their cities, because they’re simply not useful.

Philosophical or psychological analysis is over thinking this. Rogan and his guest are expending far more intellectual effort on the movement than it deserves.

  6. We live in the world that is sleep-walking into gulag while wrestling everyone who are trying to warn it.

  7. The Cancel culture will become WOKE when the mothers & Grannies have to pay the Bill for Damages…The Gran who has to sell her condo & live in a Trailer because her G daughter destroyed an unknown Statue… The Face recognition system can be used on any Video and that IS always available…..Welcome to stupid Drug induced Group Think….

The Tent city in Arizona for the Riot Leadership will dry-out the hate.. Sherriff Joe and pink underwear….

    Get her done

  8. it’s something in the water! 🙂
you can call it marxism or madness or lemmings or revolutionary – the name is not that important – it stinks and it’s rotten and it’s entrenched. who knows how long this will go on?
the good news is that like everything else, it cannot go on forever.

  9. Ran across a book ‘The No Asshole Rule’ a couple of years ago. Premise was that bullies cause more damage than any possible benefits. The characteristics listed mirror the cancel culture fascists’ behaviour we are seeing running amok now. Forwarded the book to a boss and the next time the company bully, a long time employee, strutted his stuff he talked himself into retirement. Arrogance to bewildered helplessness in minutes and his replacement increased revenues so the exercise was a success. Similarly the cancel culture activists are using the pandemic disruption to bully. When the financial crisis hits, they will be vulnerable. Challenge the assholes but escalate pushback to the administrators and politicians to demand their department’s cancellation in the next round of budget cuts. Cut off the grievance industry from their academic safehouses. Assholes in season – happy hunting.
