These filopodia then seek to reach into and through the walls of neighboring cells, thereby infecting them. Krogan says that while other viruses — including HIV and the family of viruses that cause smallpox — also use filopedia as mechanisms of spreading infection, the way this virus so rapidly prompts the growth of these tentacles is highly unusual. And the shape of them, branching off the cell and each other like trees, is also apparently strange. Other infectious diseases like HIV don’t cause these kinds of prolific, mutant growths.
It almost sounds like something cooked up in a lab. The good news: it may lead to new treatment options.

Shoot, I quit annual Flu shots twenty five plus years ago. After I got a shot, two weeks later, I would get the Flu! After I quit, I have had the Flu once, in 2000. As to the current hysteria, I have not worn a mask once, and have continued on pretty much as always have. This stupid Trudeau lock down will bankrupt us all. Our incomes will buy maybe half of what they did before. Prices are already climbing fast, our incomes won’t. Oh, and they just announced the value of our homes will tank over the next while, gee, go figure!
On top of that, I also agree this was a manufactured virus, and perhaps released by accident. The Chinese Government then kept it quiet while building PPE stocks from planet wide sources, before announcing the virus to the rest of the world, and if they don’t give a damn about killing a few hundred thousand of their own citizens, they certainly don’t give a damn about killing us. We should have just carried on and got herd immunity, because the Flu kills more than this virus, and no frigging way will I ever agree to any inoculation from a Chinese developed lab, and yeah, they can lock me up if they insist!

Had a democrat been in office as president of the U S this would never ever have happened. 61 million Americans got the damn swine flu while Obama was in office and no one really knows how many people died as complications from that flu because it was just a flu.
