  1. A privately owned range on Northern Vancouver Island, Port Hardy Fish and Wildlife has passed a resolution that prohibits the RCMP from bringing any firearms or accessories to the range, that have been prohibited for civilian ownership and use. Large capacity mags and specific firearms that the RCMP use which are prohibited for civilians will not be permitted at the range.
This information is available on their Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/254241551403873/

    1. BC is insane. I know. I live there. Most of my Alberta friends who grazed on drugs moved there In the early 70s. The rest of us who were not inclined got a life and jobs, and moved later when retired.

The weather is slightly better, though. Rain vs. -40. Not surprising that they would vote for this.

    2. Good to hear this Mike.
It was discussed at length as a form of protest on a couple gun forum sites. Some clubs are considering banning the RCMP and all federal agencies from using their ranges altogether.

A lot of gun clubs will see their memberships wither if the prohibited firearms amnesty isnt overturned in the 2 year period.
RCMP members are like many in the gun community and enjoy shooting sports.
      Hopefully this makes the news.

The RCMP version of the AR-15 called the Patrol Carbine isnt banned but every variant of it is. It would be great if the gun extended their ban to this Variant….

Here are a couple short videos explaining the ridiculous Firearms Classification system in Canada

      and the term Variant.

The Facebook post by Grace Drake sums up Canadian firearm ownership nicely.

      1. Barrel length and ammunition capacities are two of the scarrity-cat’s complaints.
        But you can buy a Kel-Tec KSG-25 and it holds 24+1 2-3/4″ shells. (only 20 three-inch.)
Or you can buy shotguns that have only 12″ barrels.
My house has two (pistol caliber) carbines, semi-autos, but they’re unrestricted so the barrel length is 18″+. But they are both take-down models that come apart/go together in seconds so they are stored/moved in back packs. And they have 10 round magazines.

It might be tough for some ranges to keep out the cops depending on their financial situation. And then they would also have to consider if they want them showing up in uniform all the time to hassle their other patrons.

        1. It’ll change. They will decide that short barreled shot guns “have no sporting purpose”, and they will be the next classification of firearms banned. Count on it.

        2. “And they have 10 round magazines.”

I really don’t know but if they are 10 round centre-fire semi-auto rifle magazines, you might want to do some research.

          1. I did the research and you are likely right

“The maximum permitted capacity of a magazine is determined by the kind of firearm it is designed or manufactured for and not the kind of firearm that might actually use it. As a consequence, the maximum permitted capacity remains the same regardless of which firearm it might be used in. Example: The Marlin Camp Carbine chambered for .45 ACP uses magazines designed and manufactured for the M1911 pistol, therefore the seven- and eight-round capacities are permitted.”

          2. A Ruger and a JR.
            Pistol caliber carbines.
Both have 10 round pistol mags. 9mm.
My lady and I hit the range last Sunday – much better than church.
At 50 yards both can shoot a grapefruit-sized target with 10 holes in less than 10 seconds.
They only have a slightly higher velocity than a pistol, but obviously they’re much more accurate and lots of fun.

    3. We don’t allow them on our range at all (also on Van Island). The founders of the present range were all members of another range years ago that would rent out space to the RCMP. The RCMP would take over the entire range, even kicking paying members off so they could have it to themselves.

  2. My day was fine, Scott Adams actively challenged cancel culture and is going to start a country called Scotland, Dave Chapelle called Candace Owens “stanky”, Tucker is going to be cancelled, and some dipsh1ts in Seattle can’t, in spectacular fashion, figure out how to community farm.

And then you feed me a Beatles link! Most over-rated boy band ever.

    1. Did Chapelle challenge anything Candace Owens said or just insult her? It seems every time I see her on TV debating someone they quickly turn to the personal attack.
      BTW…
Three over after 17 then triple bogey the 18th. That’s how MY day went.

    2. That is some interesting video with that song. Mick J still performing; Beatles who John L. once said were more popular than Jesus Christ not so much.

    3. alrcincgy

The Beatles might be overrated and I understand and get your point.

The marketplace determines who is a star and who isn’t. I’m good with that but I like you reserve my rights.

The Beatles are a pop band. The Stones rock.

      1. I agree. The Stones lasted longer than any band. Likely many went bust about royalties and getting ripped off by record companies. They owe their longevity to Mick Jagger who is a good businessman. Ever notice how so many groups change labels before they split up?

Stones are all bandaged up now. Mick got his ticker juiced and Keith stopped his juice guzzling.

        1. Then there are groups like the Dave Clark 5, who decided to voluntarily disband and quit while they were still ahead. Their fear was that if they hung around too long, people would grow tired of them.

For a while, they were more popular than the Beatles. It was a competition between the DC5’s Tottenham Sound versus the Mersey Beat.

          Now that I’ve mentioned them:

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtTO1j-ucVs

          1. There was a PBS show about them and they were definitely popular in the day. Then they were gone. It would’ve been great to see how they would’ve evolved. I feel that way about so many like The Doors, Jimi, Janis, The Carpenters, Cass Elliot, etc. They had an excuse but to my knowledge, DC5 is still around.

            This was a favourite:

“Because”  ~ The Dave Clark Five
            https://youtu.be/QpKWpUJybng

Mersey Beat? You must mean these guys:

“Ferry Cross The Mersey” ~ Gerry and the Pacemakers
            https://youtu.be/08083BNaYcA

          2. The term “Mersey Beat”, as I’ve been given to understand, referred to the style of music produced by the bands in the Liverpool area, including the Beatles (at least during their early days).

I recall that documentary about the DC5, which aired several years ago.

  3. This is the only place I can think of to ask – what (if anything) is going on with Blazing Cat Fur? For the last week, it’s been nothing but “You are being redirected…”. Is the site under attack, or something more mundane?

      1. Brave browser.

Select Duck Duck Go as your search engine

Learn about VPNs and how to use them. And pick a European VPN provider

    1. Flea – I got that starting maybe six months ago when I used a Chrome browser. The only way I could get around it was to change to a microsoft browser. We could not find a fix for it in Chrome. BCF works fine in whatever browser I use now.

      1. I finally read a biography on Napoleon Bonaparte last June – took me 6 weeks to finish (normally read a book in 1 week) as it was so dense and full of information. I had not realized the English were such “shits” – all the blockades and refusing to buy French products after he came to power. Napoleon only started 2 of the “Napoleonic wars” – invading Spain and Russia (both were ill-conceived). The rest were that of France, under Napoleon, defending themselves against the Austrians, the Prussians and the Russians (turns out the Austrians were P’Oed when Marie Antoinette, the sister of the Emperor, was guillotined!). And of course, the British were in the back, just egging the others on. Yes, Napoleon had some major ego problems, but his reign brought stability to France after the revolution and he did a lot for the advancement of science and mathematics. Eventually, the French became weary of all the wars and the conscription of youth ages 13-15.

After this quarantine of healthy people ends, and I can go back to the library, would love to read a biography on Queen Victoria. I am sure to learn lots of new information.

        1. Napoleon was seen by many Europeans as a paragon of freedom and justice. The story is told that Beethoven dedicated his Third Symphony (Eroica) to him but removed that reference when Bonaparte made himself emperor.

        2. Thanks for that refresher on Bonaparte.
Read Victoria too. It was a long read. Worthwhile. We learn just how much she relied on Prince Albert and the advice of her many Prime Ministers. The two advisors often conflicted.

        3. For a different perspective, you might want to try “Désirée” by Annemarie Selinko. It’s fiction, but is based on an historical person. Désirée Clary, daughter of a silk merchant of Marseille, was Napoleon’s fiancée before he met Josephine. Her sister, Julie, married Napoleon’s brother, Joseph. The book is a “diary” of Désirée’s life from the time she met the Bonapartes until she was crowned Queen of Sweden in 1829.

          1. A different biography of her was made into a movie starring Marlon Brando as Napoleon.

      1. Thanks, will definitely take this in. Read Napoleon’s biography years ago. It was a tough go– the battles he fought were well described. He was a man of ‘action.’ Looking forward to the music.

Was planning on watching another historical series available through Crave TV– that of “Catherine The Great” with Helen Mirren, a 4 part series. Read her biography as well, years ago. She ‘had’ a lot of ‘action!’

        1. You’re welcome.

I was looking for that piece by Nicolas Roze ever since I heard it in that series, though he’s not credited for it in the IMDB entry. I did, however, find that much of the coronation music used was written by Jean-Francois le Sueur.

So tonight I discovered two French composers that I hadn’t heard of before.

I wasn’t aware of the series about Katharina die Grosse. I might have to see if I can watch it some time.

        2. The Russian “Ekaterina” TV series is far better than any of the others. Seasons 1 & 2 ( 24 episodes) now available on an all region Blu-Ray DVD. Better ‘sets’, the real thing, better scripts, better acting.

  4. I still can’t visit my father, a prisoner in a US nursing home, because the last thing President Trump needs is more superspreaders coming over the border from Chinada Province. Even if I could, I would be sentenced to two weeks’ house arrest upon my return. This state of affairs will endure till at least July 21.

But the pub patios re-opened in Ottawa, so idle civil servants could get drunk in public again. So that’s all right then.

Back on the saner side of the border, local public health officials are being forced to accept their share of responsibility for their part in destroying local economies, being terminated or forced to quit or retire.

    https://khn.org/news/public-health-officials-face-wave-of-threats-pressure-amid-coronavirus-response/

    1. Good. Maybe health professionals should not be controlling people. We hate house arrest. Waste of resources to check on people traveling from safe countries to other safe countries.

International travel refs might have been useful 6 months ago, but not now. Six flights cancelled so far, still trying to get home from safe USA

    2. I’ve been whining about Health Care fascists for months now.
Ever met a doctor who admitted to making a mistake?
Have even just one of these pricks been elected?
Have any in Canada been disemployed?
      No, no and no.
The weirdos in BC love Bonnie the Freedom Fucker so that sums it up.

      1. Public health officials would support lockdowns every day of the week – to protect us from ourselves.
They are zero tolerance when it comes to risk.

Sure consultant with them but they shouldn’t be making the call to lockdown or re start. That it the job of elected officials.

      2. You are pointing the gun in the wrong direction. Dr.Bonnie’s role speaks to health and that is all and she has done an amazing job at that. It is the NDP premiere and his Bolshevik cabinet that are the “freedom fuckers”. They are just obfuscating their leadership knowing that she will be blamed…..seems to be working.

        1. I don’t point guns at people.
And your take is pure leftist Bullshit narrative like PM Weirdo saying we’ll figure out what we got wrong ‘later’, as in never.

Bonnie said she loved hockey so if Hongcouver was going to be one of the cities that got to be a playoff hub she’d be thrilled, but no people in the stands, no concessions, etc. Yeah, she really cares about people, especially us little ones.

And believe me, I blame politicians, I just don’t give exemptions to advisors, like Butts..

          1. Not a take, reality. Has not a damn thing to do with politics, other posters can see this. You are a simpleton. By the way, the dead don’t go to hockey games and my guess is 99% of your hockey viewing in via TV, but thanks for coming over.

        2. Again , I note the role of the health professionals.

The politicos who mess up get voted out. There will be lots of them who’s careers end over this.

The consequences of our political masters is just starting to manifest itself.

    3. What did these officials expect?
You lie down with dogs, you get fleas.
They loved the spotlight as the politicians put them front and centre, abdicating their own authority, letting the blame for the pandemic measures fall on “The Experts”.
      So the economy stopped.
      Zero tax income.
      But government spending went stratospheric.

      Pandemic failed to happen.
Even in those regions where nothing was done.
The “Experts” changed their story and “The Rules” many times, all with the same outcome;Stay locked up at home”.
A bored, bitter, impoverished public have had plenty of time to observe.
Expert=X +spurt=X the unknown value+ drip under pressure.
      Official pronouncements versus reality?
      No match found.

So now the politicians are still using the Healthcare officials “advice” to lock the taxpayers up,the peons are getting ugly, fed up and enraged by hypocritical dictators..Who hide behind their advisors..
Who will be throw to the wolves as needed.

The one lesson of the Wuhan Flu,is how inept our bureaus are and how unprepared they really were.
The quality of our political leadership, was never in doubt.
Useless and clueless to the last member.
Of course public healthcare figures are quitting in droves..
Not just because they were used. But because they failed so shamefully.

    1. NR

      Another and a personal fav.

‘In My Life’, I think is one of the Beatles very best. Crazy Bette Midler does a good job of it as well. I think it’s been a movie track.

      1. Ab– hope you don’t mind – the Bette Midler rendition doesn’t compare to the remastered Beatles version soundwise.

“Rubber Soul”  is a favourite album.

        “In My Life” (Remastered 2009)
        https://youtu.be/YBcdt6DsLQA

        “Girl” (Remastered 2009)
        https://youtu.be/-8l3ntDR_lI

(I eventually outgrew the Beatles of my childhood —but you have to admit, in the above songs @1:30 they didn’t know how cute, or rather, handsome is a better word, they were! Sweet!)

        1. No arguments from me.

Another song in keeping with the ‘sun’ theme.

‘I’ll Follow the Sun’. From about that era.

    2. Here Comes The Sun is one of my favorite Beatles songs.
My wife and I went to see Paul McCartney in Regina at Taylor Field.
Sadly, Sir Paul only sang the songs he wrote. No Royalties….
Thank you Nancy for the remastered version.
      Its good brain candy.

      1. You’re welcome! We have to thank Robert for suggesting the Beatles today.

Regarding your favourite song, “Here Comes The Sun” I love the beginning of the song… after the 4th sentence… that blast of drums, right after the words, “it’s all right”…

Paul at Taylor Field, Regina… lucky you!

  5. I’m surprised that there has been no public outcry about black Americans appropriating the gunpowder culture of China and Europe (developers and perfectors). If only black americans would stop using gunpowder, and appropriated electricity, then their lives would be much simpler.

    Shorter and nastier, but simpler.

    1. “Britain, Europe and America – and Africa – have to confront their history,” said Ononokpono. “We urgently need to have a long-overdue and honest discussion about the history of slavery and its legacy of impoverishment.”

LOL, never a mention of the Middle East or China, the world most prolific slavers of history. In fact they’re still at it, actively at home and in western countries.

  6. Blackie’s bought and paid for Globe and Mail wants everyone to refer to Trump loyalists as “Hammerheads”.

  7. For those that are interested, Great Leader Kim Sung Trudeau is spending a relaxing weekend at his Harrington Lake resort. Although he did send his indebted to China foreign affairs minister to New York at taxpayer expense to win that UN Security Seat.

    1. Haha. The skank’s stupid finger tattoos helped nail her.
Now it won’t be long till some black bull dyke is nailing her.

    1. We have Police forces that are lead by Cowards for Cowards….The Police are just a “Union” Social group…
Abolishing a high cost silly group & let the Public defend themselves, or Hire REAL defenders like the Political leadership have for their protection….Real Guns & Real Bullets

The Major of Seattle is a SJW who probably wore herself out in the SEX trade and now leads the BI-female Police Chiefs in running away to a safe place….Failure to defend the constitutional LAWs of Society is to betray your duty…Funny how they surrender to threatened violence before any battle…. BOO.. BOO runaway
Seattle is a shit-hole city that doesn’t deserve any tears, let them stew behind borders

YES! abolish the phony Police and hire Snipers to eliminate the Communist agitators, if the mentally challenged Children don’t get the message…Bury them among the enemy…. Why have corrupt Courts & a system that refuse to protect anyone except themselves…

      JMHO

    1. ““Rex was clearly writing from his own personal experience. He was wrong.”
No — based on his experience he was right. You can disagree with someone’s perceptions, but it is unreasonable to invalidate someone’s personal experience and thrir understanding based on that experience. We will never get to a shared wisdom about race or anything else without taking time to listen and understand views coming from different life experiences. Same for the experiences of Blacks in Canada. We can acknowledge those are not our experience, but we should be willing to listen. Shouting down different voices is stupid. Of course, given that this is politically correct Canada, we will continue to shout down.

    2. They may get Rex. He could be done.

At the same time they’ve given the Prime Minister of Canada a pass on his overt racist acts of dressing in blackface. These journalists need to do a gut check. They are all in a race hoping to not become the next Jessica Mulroney.

Rex has an opinion column. He wasn’t promoting anything. Get over yourselves journos…..

      1. Rex sounds like he’s about ready to ‘bust’ out.
Bet Ezra Levant would take Rex Murphy on his team.

    3. And they still can’t figure out why the customer is refusing to buy their “product”.
      What a bunch of tools.
We need to separate from these effete elites, they need to be all alone.
Of course they already are, changing the world is the narrative.
      Reporting the news..not their job.
They can’t even definite what this “systemic Racism” is yet they see it everywhere and in everyone.

      We need to completely agree.
I am a systemic Racist,Anti-Everything,Proud of it and I am not going to change..
      Thats the start position.
As we are the majority the only recourse these losers have is to leave.
So embrace all their labels and pee in their cornflakes at every opportunity, until they flee.
Drive them into the Clinton Archipelagos, where they can burn their virtue bright..

    1. BA

It’s politics. If the CPC was to only centre on AB/SK issues it would have another name and never form government. The reality is that the federal government has to represent all of Canada. Our critically flawed electoral system doesn’t allow for all regions to sit at the throne but it is the system and change is only possible from the inside.

      1. Cozying up to Quebec is hardly a representation of “all” Canadians.

    1. Somehow, the following quote by Abraham Lincoln comes to mind:

“He who represents himself has a fool for a client.”

      1. B A D R:

I can only hope you didn’t watch the whole video.
If you did, and that is all you took away, then all I can say is shame on you.

You and I only have our privileged lifestyle and freedom of speech(such as it is) because of the many “Normans” that came before and sacrificed.
And as we lose what little freedoms we have, paid for in blood, Canadians fiddle.
        Fuddle duddle them.

I have no doubt that he too will be sacrificed, but I’ll be damned if I’ll blame him for doing what the rest of us cowards won’t but should be doing.
Can you imagine if 1000 concerned Canadians showed up at courthouses across the land with the same charges?
But Canadians and particularly Conservatives are do nothing cowards.
That is what I see, have seen and no doubt will see.
        No shame in this country.
Lazy ass cowards one and all!

        1. My point is that by representing himself, he is taking an awful risk. Self-educated “lawyers” often lose their cases.

He had my attention until he got to the last bit with his “computer genius” buddy.

    1. That video of the juggler was one of the first things a friend sent me to view on my newly installed dial-up internet connection. Remember those.

  8. I just heard on my local news that BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) has suffered a 90% decline in riders since the panic-demic started. I simply ask … who’s going to $pay$ for that? OK, OK … I know who will pay for the massive, cratered shortfall … I will! Higher sales taxes, higher property taxes, higher fees, higher bridge tolls, higher gasoline taxes, higher auto registration fees … and lowered public services in all other sectors.

    1. A report on TVO indicated that Toronto subway us also in difficulty. They cannot afford to run it with social distancing rules. Of course people will stay away without.

      1. I’ve practiced social distancing from TVO for many years and still hoping for its demise.

    2. Calgary Transit is mostly empty without students and a lot of the elderly who use it are staying away. They allow people to board the bus through the back door. Essentially, it’s a free ride. They are losing millions per week!

Property taxes for suburbia up 7.5%. I haven’t heard what % the emptying downtown area is being charged. Every now & then, one sees signs in a store window that reads: “everything must go!”
Idiots have trashed this place so badly, it’s unrecognizable.

      1. Idiots have trashed this place so badly, it’s unrecognizable.

When I lived in Calgary over 40 years ago, there were parts of downtown where that would have been considered an improvement.

        1. Yes, downtown. Old homes got renovated or torn down but there are some shabby ones left. There are some new constructions like multi-family dwellings, duplexes or triplexes near key spots, like hospitals.

Now, the administration is sucking the place dry.

  9. Tewchip ………The mob will destroy Rex as they destroyed Don Cherry and soon Tucker will be only a memory .

    1. True. They both have held their own up until now but they are ginning up enough support to draw the attention of the big money bags such as Soros. If considerable resources are spent to destroy a reputation, they are likely to succeed.

  10. California plans to use 450 Megawatts of diesel power generation this summer.

That’s right folks, rather than using batteries (think Elon Musk’s battery company), California will use diesel powered generators to provide power when high winds increase the risk of fires from high voltage electric lines.

High winds? Why not use wind turbines? Put them in city parks and in shopping centre parking lots, well away from tinder dry mismanaged forests.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-06-11/california-will-use-diesel-this-summer-to-help-keep-lights-on

One windmill could go in Pelosi’s yard… so her ice cream won’t melt when the power goes out.

    1. Well, he could continue “suspending” Parliament until a fool-proof vaccine is developed. Of course, that could take several years, but that wouldn’t bother him. He can still sit on his backside while remaining PM until that happens.

Nice work if one can get it.

      1. Congrats BA. You have been the first person to figure out how to use the word work and Turdo appropriately in relation to each other, and probably the only way.

        1. So, when is Dear Leader going to get a haircut, or is he hoping for a latter-day hippy look like his daddy had after marrying Maggie?

  11. New outrage in the Liberal Party’s media. Another indian was shot in New Brunswick. According to reports an indian carrying a number of knives attacked police. He was tasered a few times but continued to attacked the police which resulted in him being shot. Now outrage about racism. Even Big Chief Pam of the famous Ryerson University tribe is ranting on the TV networks.

  12. Google just took cancel culture up a notch. Plug in “British Prime Ministers” and it will give a list of the P.M.s with their images except there is no picture for Winston Churchill during his second term 1951-1955 and no Prime Minister listed at all between 1940 and 1945. Try it yourself.
