  3. Beaches are open here in Victoria and always have been. They limited parking in some places to keep crowds down but it’s left up to local government to do that. It’s worked perfectly and amazingly was done under an NDP regime. I really really hate NDP policy but Horgan is at least a pretty decent person and did a good job. I think he’s even the type who will change course now that we know the virus isn’t as bad as thought.

  7. Let it be noted that this isn’t the first time that Gavin Newsom has unilaterally betrayed the will of the people. As soon as he took office … he summarily canceled all death penalty sentences. He simply STOPPED carrying out the death penalty. The people of CA have voted IN FAVOR of the death penalty on multiple occasions.

    Polly Klaas was a sweet, lovely, 12 yo girl when a scumbag drifter kidnapped her out of her own bedroom raped her till he got bored and then murdered her. My own sweet daughter was 12yo when that happened in 1993. I remember driving my daughter to a competitive soccer match in Marin Co. (where Polly was murdered) explaining to my daughter that nobody was going to kidnap her and murder her.

    The scumbag who murdered her was given the death penalty because of multiple “special circumstances” along with the murder of a sweet, beautiful, innocent, little girl. Here we are … it’s 2020. My daughter is 38yo … Polly isn’t. 26 years have elapsed … and the scumbag is still alive. And now that Gavin Newsom … the fascist tyrant … was elected … the scumbag may never die.

    Gavin Newsom makes me sick to my stomach. Sorry. But in my mind he is a fascist. He has a nasty habit of simply doing what he wants and ignoring the will of the people. Remember when he was officiating at FAKE gay “weddings” in SF City Hall? He’s worse than just the smarmy asswipe he appears to be … he’s a very dangerous fascist Governor.

    1. It is not the job of government to carry out the ‘will of the people’, whatever that is. It is their job to defend individual rights. The US justice system is nowhere near where it needs to be for the death penalty to be a good idea as the Innocence Project’s data attests to. Newsom’s halt of the death penalty is one of his few wise decisions.

      1. And your logic is exactly why Polly Klaas will never receive justice for the terror she and tens of thousands of children like her have succumbed too.

        When the Pizzagate indictments get opened and brought to trial, there will be a hue and cry for the reversal of those death penalties to be reinstated.

        And BTW … CA has a thing called the referendum process where THE PEOPLE get to vote DIRECTLY on issues that our lazy, feckless, Legislature won’t deal with. I am certain that Fascists like you and that LOSER punk ass piss ant Governor Newsom … simply HATE the idea of THE PEOPLE voting on issues that affect their lives directly.

I read each one of those cases … which were ALL challenged for bullshitty technicalities and did not address the ACTUAL evidence in these cases … except the very last case where expert medical witnesses disagreed that a 21 month old dead child was actually RAPED or not. Oh! And of course … they were all cases involving an inmate ovvvvvv culller. No white murderers received the benefit of this fine anti-death penalty law group. Funny thing that?

            And it took me less than 10sec. to learn about ALL 737 CA inmates on death row …

          Saw the TV MOVIE.

          Since he’s been jailed he alledgedly is in the best shape of his life, playing B ball outside in the fresh air daily with not a care in the world. It seems he’s having a nice life behind bars– supposedly corresponds with a woman.

          There is something wrong with this scenario Kenji.
          No more death row now. So wrong.

          1. It turns my stomach that the LOSER who murdered Polly Klaas has been alive 26 years after he snuffed her life out. I cannot even IMAGINE the terror she must have felt. It made me sick to my stomach that it could have been my own daughter. Why didn’t the loser just go beat-off like every other man?

            And reading about that other subhuman enjoying prison life after decapitating his 9 mo. pregnant wife sickens me … but that psychopath also was chatting up his girlfriend … lying to her … while he was at a “search party” for his dead wife.
