That allows us access to Alaska and allows us to build a 1 km wide ROW from Ft Mac/Hardisty N and run whatever we want to ALASKA. (3-4 48″ Pipleines to start maybe…??? highay – Railway later.?) hmm.? right into the Trans Alaskan Pipeline system.?? to….VALDEZ – Deep water port – open all yr round – ULCC SuperTanker Capable with Instant access to Asian Markets.

        They (Alaska) have already stated they would welcome our product into their system back in 2014…that has not changed. And if Valdez is not workable, we have Tuktoyuktuk and Churchill as potential alternatives.

        Build THAT and who needs the US..?? Build that country and watch the influx of those who want to work and make it the best place on the planet….by the 10’s of thousands. Canadians…?? we’ll take em.!! Our Economy would literally explode.

        We could afford 100 F-35’s and have an excellent well equippped armed forces.
        We would allow ANY Airline to Land and take off with passengers. Say goodbye to Air Canada and likely Westjet too. Airlines that have Boned Canadians for Decades…lets see what competition does to pricing hmm?

        We would have:
        No equlaization
        Highest per capita income, likely on the planet
        Lowest Taxes on the planet
        No Carbon Tax
        No Climate Change BS EVER.
        We could outlaw Public Service UNIONS…& damned well should.

        So yea…..as you say, LOTS n LOTS of Benefits and in 15 years anyone could afford to retire where ever the hell they please.

        Time for some vision and the will to push for what you believe. It starts with WEXIT putting 102 Candidates on a Fed register for the next Fed election. Should all 102 win…which I believe is a distinct possibility, the UCP or whomever is in power at the time will have no choice but to begin the process of a CLEAR QUESTION.

    No one province has a “veto” however there will not be any amendments unless 2/3’s of the province’s representing 50% of the population agree to any change. Effectively giving Ontario or Quebec a veto.
    So just ask your self. Will Quebec or Ontario ever agree to amending the clause regarding “equalization”? Or how about a triple “E” senate? Achievable?

    I think not.

    You need to start a Bloc Alberta Party, and a Bloc Saskatchewan, Bloc Ontario, Bloc Yukon, Bloc BC parties. Create the demand for independence. You may even need to make common cause with the Quebec separatists (shudder!). There is strength in numbers, and with enough people advocating independence, they cannot pick one province out and crush it. Ask the Catalans what happens when one province alone declares independence?

    Promise good government, business friendly government, and independence.

    And yes, expect to have to actually fight for your independence too. Fight for it when the RCMP come to arrest the leaders of your separatist parties; fight for it when the elections go your way, but you are denied power by the existing government; and fight for it when Ottawa sends in their loyalist forces to crush your new independent government too.

  13. One claim that makes me blush (living in Ontario) is that Alberta does not transfer money to Quebec because the transfers are made by the Federal government and not directly from Alberta. Come one Alberta, help us out here. At least take back your pension money – it’s yours after all.

    If I rent a room in a house and pay $1,000 per month while everyone else in the house pays only $500 per month for a similar room then I am not subsidizing other people’s rooms because my rent money goes to the landlord and not directly to the other tenants. And that would make me both poorer and more stupid. Alberta, you’re paying $1,500 per month for a $500 dollar room.

    Make them form Policy that is Alberta First. Make Kenney withdraw from the Federal Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act. Demand withdrawal from CPP and use the 40B to establish APP. Establish our own UI. Establish our own Alberta Provincial Police, Take back our Parks, Banff, Jasper, Woods Buffalo, and all the 10m acres of Prime Alberta Real Estate managed by Ottawa as Parks.           When they drove the English out of Quebec to Toronto and the ROC during the diaspora of the late 70s they acquired some mighty fine real estate… cheaply. They think they can do it again.

          For those who know the city of Mtl there were some mighty fine buildings on Sherbrooke Street West, homes in Westmount and other Anglophone enclaves that sold rather quickly and people flew the coup, even some bilingual ones. The “regie of the langue française” were fanatics and anyone new coming into the province who wanted to educate their kids in English were out of luck. It was French only.

          The businesses had to redesign their signs at great expense. Some were angry about that and put up a scratched out messy sign and left it like that for years. It was nouveau art.

          There were many examples of unfairness to last a lifetime of pain and frustration, too numerous to mention. You get the idea.

And in the 70’s he went to his usual hangout after work one day, and was beaten so bad by French Racists, with a cue ball in a sock, his own mother did not know him, and the French lads he grew up with, sat there with their backs to him in the club as he was beaten to a pulp.     These discussions must be had,as Albertans are not emotional retards, rather the opposite, when we say we intend to do something it generally gets done.

    Of course we could just sit back until the cities burn, but that might be a bit too callous, however richly earned.

  26. Morton outlines what has been Plan A, working within Canada’s Constitution, and shows that this model hasn’t worked… leaving only Plan B.

    Since the Plan A hasn’t worked, all that’s left is to advocate for leaving Canada.
    Advocating for a “fire wall” around Alberta with certain sectors of governance set aside for Alberta is still at the mercy of a rogue SCOC. It may work to start the separation, but at some point in time, the SCOC will rule against Alberta and for Old Canada, leaving you broke, hungry, and without the monetary means to go your own way. It’s only a stepping stone to absolute separation.

    A unilateral declaration after a vote showing a majority voting to leave is the real Plan B.

    Canada’s SCOC and the “Claritiy Act” which outlines Canada’s rules for a province leaving, has a vested interest (the continuation of taxation without our equal recognition) in forcing Alberta (& Sask) to fail at leaving Canada upon their terms. The remaining provinces don’t need to be consulted upon the terms of Alberta (& Sask.) leaving. The Canadian view that a province exiting needs to partake in amending Canada’s Constitution is bullshit. Canada will spend the next decades trying to repair its broken Constitution and that’s not our problem.
    It would be helpful if someone within the Wexit vote organization had a sit down talk with President Donald J. Trump to bounce these ideas off him, and advocate for American recognition, and perhaps using the American dollar in our newly independent country, in light of a positive vote for our independence.

    The imbecile Trudeau isn’t going to push back on anything if American recognition is seized upon. He’ll have his hands absolutely full with trying to figure out a way to access the Pacific Ocean for his eastern nation, and how to fill the coffers now that his tax farm has quit the game.

    This, is Plan B.
    This is what it’s like to not negotiate from a position of weakness.

    1. This is why I have long advocated for the UDI, long recognized in International Law. It is how the USA became a country. Once the 50% plus 1 threshold is reached it is all over. Then all negotiation is nation to nation. Never negotiate from weakness. With UDI all treaty’s all contracts, all jurisdiction of Ottawa and Canada ends on that day. Their courts have no jurisdiction as soon as UDI is declared, none of their laws apply as of that day. If they want rail access to the east or west, OK lets talk. We want our pipelines east and west or you get no rail access or truck transit etc. As to threats of violence bring it on. The New Nation of Alberta on the day after can declare all citizens of certain age as being in the Military and issued guns the same as Switzerland. Citizen Soldiers etc. UDI Alberta In Freedom and Liberty.

  27. Doug…I fully believe there is significant appetite for a US Based Constitution here and with a bare minimum of those two Amendments among others.
