  1. My daughter is at her company’s head office in Mountain View, CA – a satellite city of San Jose. I warned her about this – she is almost 30 and thinks I am an old “fuddy-duddy”. Oh well, it does pay to have some life experiences!

  2. It’s ironic that it’s so windy that they can’t get windmill power to customers.

At least it’s relatively warm in California. Last winter, when it was -30C, I looked up windmill power in Alberta. It was 5% of capacity. The solar power plant was at zero. I think the panels were covered with snow. Imagine what it would be like with no natural gas, and the windmills aren’t turning.

    1. That’s why I got a wood stove at the beginning of the year. And I’ll use candles for light if I have to. The ecofascists want you to have baseboard heating run by windmills and solar panels and if a couple hundred thousand old people die frozen, meh, they were going to anyway.

    2. Too funny, Joe. Ironic indeed. It reminds me of stories I’ve read about how some wind towers have to be turned off when it gets “too” windy for the contraptions to safely handle the gusts.

As for my neighborhood, you could cover the the hills with 1k super wind towers and never generate more than 2kW/hr.

Pro Tip: it isn’t windy everywhere on the planet … and I’m pretty sure we’ve reached “Peak Wind Power” in the USA.

Pro Tip-2: STOP RUINING OUR LANDSCAPE WITH THOSE UGLY CONTRAPTIONS!!!

  3. My rant from readers tips …

Yeayyy!!! It’s the weekend … and PG&E is shutting our power off … AGAIN … later today because of anticipated EXTREME winds (implied … caused by global warming). Yep, in just a few hours, the massive bureaucracy PG&E hired and set up JUST to shut our power OFF will go to work (if you call flipping a switch OFF “work”). The massive amount of money being poured into this Power Shut Down shitshow could be better spent replacing and reinforcing their overhead wire infrastructure.

I just got a notice that PG&E has set up some sort of local “Resource Center” where you can go and sit while the power is OUT. WTholyF?!!! Idiots are running this behemoth … utterly WASTING ratepayers money (mine) on useless shit! The second highest electric rates in the USA.

I am so angry, I can hardly see straight. This State Government, and every quasi PUBLIC utility … is being run by REtards! Hey! Here’s a clue! How about getting WOKE to actually operating a competent power company and drop all the extraneous bullshit!? Real “rocket science” advice, eh!?

Still waiting… my power could go off at any moment. PS … it is dead still at my home. Not so much as a wisp of wind blowing (we were promised the MOTHER of all wind “events”). This is INSANE! Oh, and as if the inconvenience isn’t enough … my ice-maker in my ref’r hasn’t worked since the last power outage. It’s circuit board was likely fried when the power came back on. I’ve gone through every trouble-shooting solution published by the mfr. to no avail. Looks like I have to replace the whole mechanism. At least $500 bones … thanks PG&E! It’s not as if I don’t already $PAY$ The nation’s highest electric rates … but now I have to spend 500 quid to get my wife’s evening glass of white wine served with the ice cube she likes in it. Fukkkinnn-A.

  4. Drove through pincer creek in September to fish the elk river , of the thousands of windmills exactly one was moving and barely at that , wind power is a joke

  5. The California Fruit Loops blamed PG & E for the Fires…Bankrupted Them… Now they turn off the power. (Be very careful what you wish for)…How can we get them to blame water & sewer for the Stink in California, shutting down the sewer System is the right answer….Medieval Times coming ASAP

  6. North Korea is their role model.
Sorry you are living it Kenji but I think PG&E is finally getting a clue, leaving all their customers in the dark while charging them additional “delivery fees” is the future of government enforced monopoly services,AKA Utilities.
When do you and your neighbours figure to build your own power generation plant and start hanging regulators, code enforcers and other such idiots around the perimeter fence?
I would recommend a gas turbine or screaming Jimmy diesel without mufflers for best results, either should muffle noise of any gunfire.
