David Frum ♥ The Shiny Pony

With a definite vomit warning, here is an interview of the ultimate RINO, David Frum. In it you will hear him: Make excuses for Justin Trudeau from every possible angle, proclaim his certainty that the Republicans and Trump are going to lose badly in 2020, and a whole lot of verbal diarrhea. But it’s truly fascinating to hear how deeply delusional and misguided a supposedly well educated Canadian can become.

  1. Frum has always been a twit. He was out in front early to discredit and badmouth the Reform movement.

I can see why likes Trudeau though. By validating Trudeau he validated himself.

Neither one would hold the jobs they do today unless their parents had held them first.

  2. I appreciate what you do here Robert, but things would have to be pretty bad in my life to even think of listening to 40 minutes of idiocy from that goof.
How he even makes a living is beyond me.
I don’t know what’s happened to him of late but everytime I see his mug it reminds me of some gangster character from a Warner Bros. cartoon.

    1. I know how you feel. But while I was listening to the whole discussion, I felt like a psychiatrist listening to a completely delusion patient. It was bizarre and fascinating.

      1. How you get through that is beyond me Robert. You’re a better man than me.
🙂 The last time I saw Frum on TV it looked like he’d aged 20 years and I couldn’t watch him without thinking of the stressed out, blinky eyed boss of Inspector Clouseau. When Trump fired James Comey, which is the Presidents right to do, Frum tweeted out, IT A COUP. Yes, in all caps. Trump has truly broken him.

    1. That much? He’s on par with my neighbor’s dog’s leavings…the neighbor whose name I don’t know and whose dog is an ankle biter I could shoot.

  3. First off I disagree with your calling Frum a RINO;
that better describes the present Republican Party, which has fragmented into assorted crazies.

Frum saying that Trudeau’s Independent Senate nominations are fake is interesting. Perhaps he is getting advice from his sister, who is just another example of Harper’s contempt for the institution.

But it should be checkable, in two ways:
are the people nominated accomplished in their own right, rather than as political bagmen and the like.
are they actually more independent in their actions – do they really examine & change bills etc.

Since the Senate is never going to be triply equal & is not going be be abolished, the best we can hope for is a Senate of notables who bring perspectives which are not part of the usual political spectrum.

Anyone can see how this operates over the next few years.

    1. So long as our Senators are appointed rather than elected, I would make it a conditon for eligibility that they have never run for public office. If we start choosing them by election, that it is their first attempt to run for office. And in either case, that they have held no employment in the civil service in the preceding 20 years.

    2. Came here to make the same point – Frum is not a RINO, he is a mainstream Republican. The RINO’s in the GOP are the few who actually fight for the principles they all claim to have but rarely act on. The GOP for a long time have just been Democrats in the slow lane, if the Democrats proposed we all jumped off a 500 foot cliff this afternoon, the GOP would be right there arguing for a 400 foot cliff tomorrow morning.

  4. Frum lost his marbles when Trump was voted in as President. He just can’t stand it….he is a Obumer man as well as being a Trudope man. He is a piece of excrement!!!

    1. Bill, thanks for the NP post. I think that, David Frum, as a former neo-con, once he opposed Donald Trump, decided to do a full Michael Coren and to convert to a full leftist. Much of the reason has to do with the fact that the left is flush with money, and this is particularly true with the media. Recall that at one time, Frum was primarily a Canadian conservative writer. But he could see that income opportunities, for conservatives in Canada, were limited, so he moved south. Under Trump, he saw that income opportunities were much better within the left-wing media cartel, so he joined the left.

      1. “Frum, as a former neo-con, once he opposed Donald Trump, decided to do a full Michael Coren and to convert to a full leftist. ”

That’s pretty well it, David. The early Frum was quite different from the sneering twerp he is today.

      2. So today he’s just like the NBA and nearly all the “Captains of Industry” in Canada and the USA: the only thing of importance, the only thing, is money and how much of it you can accumulate. Any tradition or regulation or statute or constitutional clause that impedes that goal is to be resisted with all the force of your being.

  5. If Frum was anything past 20 years he was Neo-con and that overshadows all else.
Frum and Neo-cons are re-working the image to appeal to Democratic voters.
Frum like the other Neo-cons voted HRC.
Plenty of vitriol against Trump in the media is coming from the brown baby killers.
They weren’t going to find work in new nation building exercises under a Trump presidency.

How times have changed. The progressive liberal crowd and the brown baby killers now attend the same cocktail parties.
