    1. I worked for a house cleaning company for 8 years, and this company hired many women of aboriginal descent. The requirements of the job were to show up on time, every day; have a smile on your face and do the work (not difficult work either, it was good exercise in my book). Sadly, many of these women could not do these 3 simple things. The one who could, was always taking time off to attend funerals for members of her family, on the reserve. One summer in particular, she went to 10 funerals (one natural death and the other 9 involved car accidents). The employer could not believe all the time off she requested and being funerals, there never was enough notice. I foresee many employers thinking twice before hiring aboriginal people.

      2. This parallels what my Dad told me about hiring natives more than 45 years ago (Dad retired more than 30 years ago). Due to the broken nature of many native families, nearly every Native employee was raised by more than one mother and/or auntie. Mortality rates being what they are on Reserves, native employees were always attending a funeral for a close relative, defined as Children, Siblings, and Parents under employment contracts, but interpreted much more liberally in reality.

In the meantime all his pensions and benefits have been cut. Even after a visit to a government office with many documents he was told that someone from the government would have to visit him personally. This my friends is why no one should believe or trust government, ever!

    1. This is the defining issue of the next election.
      What candidates are actually working for someone other than official Ottawa?

      When Harper closed some offices the opposition defined the action as cutting benefits when the directive was that the bureaucracy was ordered to become more efficient and still provide the same level of service.
      Note that when you ask a government department to do what everyone else has to do, they equate that to a cut to service.
      The point is, that those that work in government do not see their mandate as public service, the culture tends toward a protectionist insular organization that seeks to preserve head count and budget with the public they are supposed to be serving as a secondary concern.
      So I ask, which candidates seek to gain the support of the bureaucracy, which ones concern themselves with not offending the bureaucracy, which ones have been put in the sights of the bureaucracy, and which ones are deemed an existential threat to the bureaucracy?
      Heres a means test.
      If you get the chance during the coming campaign, ask the candidates in your riding how they feel about moving or consolidating some government departments.
      It will give you a good indicator who they want to work for.

        1. I would never pledge to shut down the CBC. I would describe it as giving freedom to the CBC to broadcast content of their choosing without government limits restricting what they can or cannot offer to their audience.
          They get unrestricted control of what they produce, the taxpayers are no longer burdened to pay for it.
          If they argue about unfair competition, then they need to explain how the content providers that operate without government support are doing it and succeeding.

    1. Alberta knows how to manage resource extraction companies. They build their own roads, likely tens of thousands of miles of them. The first thing a new forestry or oil company has to do is negotiate with owners of roads to pay for access or build their own. The public can use them for free. There wasn’t a highway bypass and when VALE, a Brazilian company bought the mine, they closed the access road to the public and people had to detour all the way around the city to get to the town of Copper Cliff when the access road was only about 2 KMs long from end to end. But yeah, when the giant ore trucks came up the road we always ceded the right of way!

    I, my friends, am no fan of Maxime Bernier or his party, but if the Conservative candidate or MP in my riding was a liberal posing as a conservative, I would vote for a PPC candidate. There are a few liberal Conservatives in Ottawa that deserve to lose their seats in the next election and it is the People’s Party that can help make that happen, either by electing a PPC candidate or by splitting the vote. Yes, you read that correctly—I said, splitting the vote in certain ridings. It is by no means something that I would encourage nationally, but it is something I would encourage as a means to cleanse the Conservative ranks. Swapping a fake conservative for another liberal is of no consequence, so we should use Maxime’s party to get rid of the ones we know will not serve our agenda in Ottawa. If we get lucky and elect PPC candidates, all the better.

    These are the ridings occupied by Conservatives who support carbon taxes, believe in white privilege, play too much identity politics or have pushed other kinds of ridiculous liberal agendas. By voting for the PPC candidate in these ridings, you will be helping to cleanse the Conservative Party of hacks, liberals and self-interested weasels.

    1. Having worked for 45 years, I would say most of this is way. overdue. The only thing I disagree with is the special exceptions for aboriginals. Everyone is either equal or no one is.
      As for the other items, 3 weeks holiday after five years service, 4 after ten? Eight hours between shifts? Why would anyone disagree? The employer can no longer change your shift on a whim but must provide notice? Most good employers already provide these things. Those who don’t, get only the dregs, the alcoholics, and the druggies as a work force.
      Good help is hard to find. Good employers treat their employees fairly and have little trouble retaining a skilled and competent workforce. As for those that find these regs onerous, a pox on them.
      Goverment rarely does the common man a service, as much as I despise Ottawa, I’ll take the little bit of good that comes our way.
      As for the aboriginal employee, nobody is forced to hire anyone and every occupation has a requirement. Government never hires the best and never receives value for dollars spent. Nothing changes there.

    No, the real problem is not the PPC’s legitimacy, but the fact it is so contrary to political correctness. The NDP had the temerity to write the CDPP to say the PPC should be excluded because its unacceptable views would lower the nobility of the debates! The CBC has no love for the PPC, given that the party wants to end the public broadcaster’s $1.1 billion annual subsidy. The parent companies of the other media probably want to keep the Liberals happy too, given that most of the $600 million he has promised to “approved” media also depends on the Canadian people approving Trudeau for another term this fall.

    If a true clash of ideas is the goal, Canadians would be much poorer if the PPC is rejected. Its stances on equalization, immigration, balanced budgets, multiculturalism, supply management, gender identity, handouts to corporations, and the response to climate change, are all markedly different from the other parties.

    Strip away the high-sounding rationale of the CDPP and you will find naked self-interest. The establishment media and parties realize that if Bernier gets a national platform to share his ideas, Canadians might support them, and they don’t want that. Ironically, the exclusion of the PPC from national debates might be the surest sign of its relevance. If Canada’s media and political establishment is so ready to put self-interest above fairness and public institutions, it is high time for a populist political movement to find its voice. Hopefully, the CDPP will change its mind.

    This all coordinated with the Globalist in UK, Canada and the Islamist.
