Why am I going to vote Max? As a Westerner I am done with supporting eastern politicians. I will vote CPC in my riding because I want a man there who can evaluate and hopefully realize in time that there is no place for the West in Canada.
The primary role for voters in the West is to ensure they elect provincial and municipal politicians who will support separation or at the very least start the process of greater independence. No more RCMP, separate CPP accounts and votes on critical issues as funding of “equalization”. The time line faced by Westerners is the uncertain future of energy as development of alternatives progresses. The wealth these resources can provide has to be maximized over the next 20-30 years. We should be modeling the Norwegian Sovereign Fund.
The country we know as Canada will fail. This could most likely happen in the next economic down turn. At some point there will be a global debt crisis which will make the 20 year decline of Japan look like a picnic. When the federal government cannot fund the social contracts of CPP & OAS, funding the deficit and ongoing deficit spending Canada will collapse.
Andrew Scheer is a Westerner. Yas, when you Westerners separate, you get to keep Andrew.

Of all the things I dislike about Scheer, his pandering to liberal ‘progressivism’, his ‘invisibility’, his habit of ‘executing’ fellow Conservatives with independent views, etc, his apparent willingness to let Canada’s liberal media industry completely control his message to voters has to be the worst. No matter what you think of Max’s chances this coming election, I don’t believe Scheer has the gonads to survive the entire left’s coming onslaught, led by their media teammates, against us evil, racist Conservatives. All of them are worthless – I cannot vote for any of them. My plan – and I encourage everyone to follow – is to spoil your ballot. I have to review the legislation, but if there are more spoiled ballots than the margin of victory, legal action follow and the election in that riding might be declared invalid. At the very least, it should send a clear message to all politicians to stop acting like wimps and realize that the ONLY people you should be concerned about are Canadian citizens – not activists, not special interest groups, not businesses – but people who live and work in Canada.

Well, from what I’ve been hearing in my neck of the woods here in S.W. Ontario, I can report the following:
1. It’s the quietest time in politics I have ever experienced.
2. Nobody is inspired by Trudeau, or any of his ministers (particularly Ms. McKenna, who has altogether too much to say, according to my contacts). If pressed, my contacts will briefly express exasperation with Trudeau all along the waterfront: everything the Liberals have touched has turned to lead and worse; the carbon tax is hated. Then the conversation moves on, with a shrug, to a completely different subject.
3. Nobody is offended in the least by Andrew Scheer, to the extent that they ever were outside conservative activist circles. He’s no threat to anybody, and he wants to get rid of the carbon tax.
4. People I know seem to like it that the Tories have shown themselves to have a front bench that includes more than Mr. Poilievre, although any objections to him have become pretty mute, so far as I can tell.
5. Nobody talks about Max (and I have been a Max supporter), and everybody seems to think that the Liberals are in danger of dropping to third, behind the Green Party, with the NDP being pretty much wiped out.
Other than that, people are sick of the lousy weather, and looking forward to summer. Admittedly, I live in a pretty Tory region (multiple ridings, where my contacts reside), so maybe the information’s wrong. But that’s what I’m hearing.
