As of 6 PM PDT,it looks like Notley in a landslide. She intends to leave confederation and go it alone as the People’s Democratic Republic of Alberta.
What courage.
Yah had me for a nanosecond Don. Then guess what I said? By the way, Polls show huge undecided’s 15-20% Lets see Nutley lose her shit.
Well, maybe Red Rachel will be THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS close (a pinch) to winning second place.
Pink Slip time for Pinkos in Alberta. Icing on the Cake? If U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated Premier Jason Kenney.
That’d make Ottawanker heads explode in Canada, eh?
How about anyone but the Global Television propaganda network.
Last time around they – Rick Fee in particular – took much glee and rubbed our noses in the result.
They seem to be taking Nutleys loss as a victory because Alberta didn’t lop off its NDPenis.
To Quote Wm. Aberhart Alberta Premier in the 1930’s. My old neighbor said he heard Bible Bill give that speech from the back of a wagon when he was a kid, standing there with his Dad. “If You Have Not Suffered Enough It Is Your God Given Right To Suffer Some More” Wm. Aberhart.
Incidentally, that’s the real sin for which Albertans will never be forgiven—electing a Social Credit government not bought and paid for by the globalists of the era.
Yah that got Albertans shot by the RCMP and beaten in Winnipeg in the 1930’s because Alberta would not bow down to Ottawa, every other Province received help from Ottawa except Alberta in The Great Depression. Ottawa refused. Alberta went bankrupt. That is how Alberta Treasury was created to help farmers and struggling citizens of The Nation of Alberta. Hell the hunter gathers throw the word Nation around why not Albertans. The Nation of Alberta. The Nation of Saskatchewan.
LOL them prairie peasants were commies or close enough.
Unme logic: Calls Albertans communists, admires the CHICOMs, an actual communist regime.
What’s wrong with this picture?
Just had a evil anti Trudeau prodemocratic thought, how about Kenney amend the Alberta Constitution so that the Lt. Gov. the Official Head of State of Alberta was directly elected by Albertans. The POLS and FROGS would swallow their cud.

The NDP seems to have won in Drumheller. That’s bad.

CTV has called it for UCP (ie. at least a UCP minority, at 8;34 MDT)
CBC called UCP MAJORITY at 8:38pm
GLOBAL called UCP MAJORITY at 8:39pm
The Rebel’s decision desk has just called it for the UCP with 44 seats.
Quick update: it’s 45 – 17 for the UCP right now.
I beat them all. My wife woke up from a nap at 7:30 and asked who won. I said the Conservatives – by a landslide.

Oh thank God. On so many levels.
Still think Kenney kinda stunk in the campaign. You know he polled no better than Notley and way below his party-they were better off with Jean.
AP has no seats but almost 10% of the vote. They’re a force. UCP has only 50% of the vote total-not that great. Again: Kenney is an anchor. Not happy that Calgary’s mixed.
EDIT: I wonder how the advance votes will steer things.
Must be hard to keep pretending while choking on tears.

hopefully the “vote anywhere” vote is not a Lyndon Johnson in Texas moment.
Colonista – I was of a generation and demographic who had to leave home for any education after Grade 12. Locally, there was the smelter for apprentices, and a small “secretarial” school for those who wanted to work in offices. Anything else, one had to leave the small town and head to Vancouver, Nelson, or Spokane for higher education of any sort.
However, in those days, students were considered to be residents of the town where their parents resided. The result was that those of us who had to travel for an education were disenfranchised; it was not possible to travel some 400 miles back “home” to vote. As I remember, it was a high school classmate who, back in the day, challenged this diktat; his comment was that he considered his home to be where he now resided, as he visited his parents only for vacations. He won; we all suddenly were enfranchised.
One offspring ended up studying overseas, during which time there were three elections. We were never able to figure out how to enable said offspring to vote, and that despite the filing of T1’s regularly and maintenance of status as a Canadian resident. Our attempts to enable voting were very frustrating.
That being said, I am dead against allowing Canadians abroad to vote federally UNLESS they are filing T1’s as Canadian residents. If they’re not paying Canadian taxes, they shouldn’t be allowed to help choose which party is going to fleece us next.
As far as I am concerned students should be disenfranchised. They have no business voting for more of other peoples’ money. Same goes for welfare leaches or publik sector “employees”. If one is a net debit they should not vote. Simple as that.
Or to put it the other way:
Q: Why do you think NDP made it easier for students to vote?
A: Because students vote NDP.
Q: Why do students vote NDP?
A: Because NDP gives them more of other peoples’ money.
Beg to disagree; all our offsprings were brought up to be politically involved. On the other hand, they were also brought up on the note that “you will finish Grade XII; you will take up a further training; you will help pay for said training, so start saving”. All offsprings found part-time jobs through high school; babysitting was a biggie, though there was also work at the local library. Having to pay their own way made them much more realistic in the choice of courses; they are all hard-working professionals who truly realize the benefits they were given through the university system but also understand that said benefits are being extracted today through taxes.
So what? I am not talking about your kids. I am talking about a principle here. Also I am talking about trends. There are university professors who are conservative libertarians. There are publik administrators who are honest and hard working. Hell, allegedly there are even teachers who have functioning braincells and high work ethic. Exceptions do not matter. You and your children would be better off if students did not vote. For every sane vote students like your children put in a box there are tens of free lunch votes put by other students.

My riding too. Rebecca Schulz is smart, has political experience, and was endorsed by Brad Wall. I’m hopeful she can make an impact. She impressed me when I researched the UCP candidates months ago. If nothing else she’s young and hopefully a long term voice in the legislature.
Yes Rebecca worked in Saskatchewan with Brad Wall.
I read your comments earlier in another thread. Wishing you the best in your future endeavors. Things will turn around now.
It’s a blowout!!! I hope he shuts down the pipelines and leaves Vancouver in the dark. This is coming from someone who lives in BC btw.
Kenny will be an outspoken critic of Justin. Maybe Canadians will start to pay attention.

The sweetest part of tonight is listening to the MSM trying to justify the result.
Alberta ! Curb your enthusiasm.
You have a big mess to clean up.
The cancer still lives in Edmonton and has metastasized to Calgary. How will you cut it out.
Hell No. Alberta is going to have a lot of hangovers tomorrow. Rock On and strap in Trudeau

Tell me about it. I’m still stuck with Red Rachel as my MLA. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was because the University of Alberta’s in my riding. Yuck!
By the way, apparently the communist candidate got over 20 votes.
Your confusing the communist candidate with commie red Nutley.
Uh, no. There actually was a communist party candidate running in my riding, Naomi Rankin. Red Rachel had some competition to see who was the furthest to the left.
Rachael won 72% last I looked, they still like her !
Jason is on now:

The crowd is wild….
” We will have the lowest taxes in Canada”….

Justin Trudeau eat your heart out!
Rachael won 72% last I looked, they still like her !
I saw that disgusting display. Worse was that she tried an O’Bummer the-future-prosperity-was-all-because-of-my-policies trick. The dummies ate it all up, of course.
Yes, I saw that. She gave quite a speech. If one didn’t know she lost and just turned on the TV and tuned in, the way she was talking, they would’ve thought she actually won.
The Press will be brutal now. They are so pro NDP it’s sickening.
Watching ‘Leeeesa Laflaamme’ now! Eye BROWS are raised – they want the PATCH decimated! This is not part of their plan!
DECIMATED!!! Bye, bye Incompetent Notley!!!
The Notley Nightmare is over.
Unfortunately it will take sometime to recover from the Ceci Catastrophe.
Great news for Jason Kenney. Couldn’t happen to a better person — a hard, tireless worker. Premier Kenney — nice sound to it! So far the UCP has 51% of the votes.
Kenny, congrats. But hey, many BC folks are with you. Don’t get weird. Let’s elevate the conversation, with energy flowing, etc. Unite and get beyond provincial distractions. Piss on the feds together. Etc.
I’m from BC and I hope he shuts off the taps. It’s the only way to wake people up. Once people start to realize what the green agenda implies they’ll never vote for it again.
Red Rachel and the ass bandits won’t shut up, and concede a litany of her failed record to chants of ass bandits.
Red Rachel is OUT OF TOUCH, nauseating to listen to this alt-universe socialist. Pathetic and clueless.
She clearly doesnt care about the 100,000 plus that have lost their well paying jobs, not one bit, but hey, those LGBTQ1234plus types are most important to her. GOod question for her, if she did such a bang up job, why did she LOSE so badly?
The ENDP is clearly out of touch, as are all the leftwing parties, they are dividers of our nation
Now in opposition the NDP will get back to their anti-oil, anti-pipeline positions.
Hopefully Kenney will move quickly to investigate and fully expose the funding for the anti-oil movement. The NDP “ethics” will now be exposed.
Joe – trust me, they will. Offspring reported that was rather stunned to hear an interview to the effect of: Interviewer – if you lose the election, will you continue supporting pipelines? NDP candidate: no we won’t, in opposition you are against anything the government proposes”. I am paraphrasing, but that was the gist of the conversation as reported to moi. Said offspring rather shocked, as had always understood the role of the opposition was NOT to mindlessly oppose whatever the government proposed but rather to oppose when truly didn’t agree to a proposal and otherwise to try to amend and improve bills.
Global coverage is pathetic. Watched for 20 minutes and flipped to Rebel. They have stupid ads covering the riding by riding results. And these moron hosts that make their living by talking mumble and stumble and trip over words. Then they have that moron David Akin.
There IS a scandal in this election.
And that’s the conduct of the pollsters who deliberately fudged their numbers.
One had the margin as low a 8%.
It’s 20%.
Need to have a law that punishes biased polls…
Given how badly pollsters have done over the past decade, you can’t prove that it’s anything but gross incompetence.
The only punishment they need is being badly wrong over and over again. Any sane person will regard them with a lot of healthy skepticism.
“and thats the conduct of the pollsters who deliberately fudged their numbers”…. saw smiling Don Martin over at Bell Media’s CTV (CBC-2) who made the incredibly dishonest observation that “the pollsters got it basically right”… no word on what planet and what polling old smiling Don was referring to. I guess our corrupt Media betters decided that even though the pollsters they hired to manipulate public opinion are completely wrong on all counts it doesn’t matter because they’re still right… Fake News.
David Aitkin of Global says NDP knows how to throw a punch referring to the negative campaigning. ha ha ha, they won by default in 15. UCP will bury them in the shit pile now.
Lot of work to clean this mess up, but good.
And to all the globalist, Rockefellers, and Chuck Adler types out there who like to stick their nose where it doesn’t belong….(with apologies to our hosts) F#*k you.
So is the economy already fixed or do we have to wait until tomorrow?
Have to wait until October before we begin to fix the economy.
yep andydrew, it ain’t the equipment, it’s the mentally challenged management
Ha, ha, ha.
62/25
If only there was an electoral college to whom the NDP might appeal.
Hey, Rachel–the UCP won the popular vote, too!
George Soros will not be pleased at this election result.
I’m watching Kenney’s speech right now. Rather than gloating, he’s been quite gracious. I thought his comments to Quebec, in French no less, to be a nice touch.
His reaching out to Quebec is calculated. You need them be the Prime Minister of Canada.
Yeah well he was overly gracious to Notley and her Commie Clown car too.
Kenney’s promise to deal with Climate Change just about made me wretch. He seemed to suck up to Quebec and Injuns, the whole speech came off as a primer/stepping stone to stump for higher office.(PM)
Magnanimous in victory? Be magnanimous to the people of Alberta who’ve been beaten by Commies for four years.
Kenney also fired a shot across the bow of the Suzuki Foundation and affirmed his going after the foreign funded NGOs funding the demise of Alberta’s energy resource industry.
Comments in French …. an insult to all those who voted for him. This is not Quebec where the only official language is French. This is western English Canada. Screw the east.
Don’t forget that there are a number of places here in Alberta where French is the main language.
“Don’t forget that there are a number of places here in Alberta where French is the main language.”… so what., they’re paid well.
BA – yes his reach out to quebek was smart.
Back in another lifetime I sat on a national board of business people. The board consisted of members from all provinces. Many of the quebek people spoke no English. They were business people and I always came away from meetings with the realization that Alberta and quebek were very much aligned. We had common cause.
If you look at only politics you couldn’t possibly see any hope of cooperation or association. Kenney knows this intimately. He knows all kinds of people in quebek and will attempt to capitalize on those friendships building advantage for both provinces. He will bypass the federal liberals.
Obviously great news for Albertans and Canadians in general. However I am greatly disappointed in the fact that after masterminding what was arguably the darkest period in Alberta’s history, the NDP wasn’t completely decimated especially after running a dirty, underhanded campaign of fear and smear greased with union money and funds from who knows where. I guess that wall to wall media portrayals of Notley being the reincarnation of Mother Teresa and Joan of Arc rolled into one had somewhat of an effect on the stupid and uninformed. It would take a complete idiot not to see the real Rachel Notley. A communist crone driven by a sick ideology who really didn’t give a shit about ordinary Albertans.
Technically, “decimated” means to lose 10%. They lost half their seats.
I guess decimated was the wrong term. I wanted to say obliterated or wiped off the political map but thought better of it lest someone took it literally and was made to feel unsafe.
I mean who wouldn’t want a leader who is so powerful as to be able to singlehandedly wipe out global oil prices? Imagine the things we could do.
Most pollsters and all mainstream media got it wrong again (*probably).
At 10:45pm MDT…
UCP – 54.6%
NDP – 32.3%
AP – 9.5%
LIB – 1.0%
FCP – 0.5%
(*three quarters of a million advance ballots yet to be counted)
“(*three quarters of a million advance ballots yet to be counted)”
Scary. Advanced polls have been closed since Saturday 8:00PM. Why have they not been counted.
I ask this as someone who has been there, done that.
Not three quarters of a million. Only the advance votes cast outside the riding will be counted late. I understand that’s about 225,000. Meaning the other 475,000 or so have already been counted.
Usually because they only count them on election night for obvious reasons.
By the bye, did anyone else see the camera cut to Stephen Harper there in the crowd during the Kenney victory speech?
Ol’ Stevies looking kinda old with all that white hair. Not a welcome harbinger to see him attending.
Yes, I happened to be looking when the camera cut to Harper.
Good for you Albertans… the globalist destroyers are very unhappy… laughed at the long faces and sad reactions from many Media yakkers… the enemy of the people.
The NDP were blown out, wrecked, and horsewhipped so badly in Alberta’s rural ridings in the sort of defeat that will echo through elections to come, their brand so badly tarnished there that no new leader or platform will restore an irreparably shredded trust.
No rural ridings, no chance at power.
On the other hand, it wasn’t such a bad night for the Alberta Party, it’s share of the popular vote jumped from 3% to 9%. With some imagination and some pragmatism, I think they have a real opportunity to set themselves up as the new opposition.
Fast forwarding, whenever Andrew Scheer is replaced the next Conservative leader will be either Jason Kenney or Rob Ford.
Book it, Danno
Bye, Felicia
Red Rachel was campaigning on the burning social issue of 50 years ago – butt sex. Kenney was campaigning on jobs. Was the result ever in doubt?
The Fake News Media had this pegged as a horse race with the Conservatives dropping in the polls. It was all a lie. They got 55% of the popular vote which is higher than the polls. The dislike of the pinko commie NDP in rural Alberta could not have been missed. The retards went after farmers, oil and gas, and forestry and somehow expected people to vote for them. Next – lay off half the civil servants to let Edmonton know what the last 4 years have felt like for the rest of Alberta.
535,000 people voted NDP and the final ballots have come in. Don’t be so smug. The socialist hordes haven’t gone anywhere and Kenney is weak.
“Next – lay off half the civil servants to let Edmonton know what the last 4 years have felt like for the rest of Alberta.”
Yup. My thought was similar. Kenney needs to take a scalpel to the govt employees – focusing especially on the what 50,000? that Nutley hired in her term. Stay wary of messing much with teachers and nurses, they of the vocal and easy to sell narrative the left loves to scream about. Find ways to trim the fat – and affect the the unions. Target the massively bloated University budgets – make them justify every dollar. City of Edm — FU on any further funding for our shit-ass-lame LRT.
Next up: get rid of Trudeau.
Then get rid of our leftist and free-spending mayors & any left-tarded councillers – Iveson in Edm & Nenshi in Cgy.
Then get rid of that utter idiot Horgan in BC.
As of 6 PM PDT,it looks like Notley in a landslide. She intends to leave confederation and go it alone as the People’s Democratic Republic of Alberta.

Meaning the other 475,000 or so have already been counted.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/advance-poll-turnout-alberta-election-1.5097693
