  2. Portland is only 6% black. It would function just fine with few black officers. Most of the people a cop is dealing with on a daily basis are white. They are worrying way too much about diversity. Even if you hired 6% black police, only one out of sixteen cops a black person sees will be black. Let the cops crack a few heads and maintain order and police morale will skyrocket, as will citizen safety.

    1. I was ON the streets of Portland a few years ago, and ALL I saw were white people. Mostly encountered white “homeless” kids who all looked like upper middle class suburban punks who decided to take drugs and “drop out”. They panhandled constantly, and would argue when I turned them down. They would say snarky things, throw out retorts, and attempt to “shame me” for not buying their next fix … or latte or whatever. Portland has the most literate “homeless” in America. They’re all white punks on dope, Mom and Dad live in Hollywood, they’ll hang themselves when they get enough rope … white punks on dope.

      … and now they’re running the city of Portland

  3. A thoroughly leftist society does not need a police force. Citizens just need training in recognizing root problems and how to assist “problematic” people more fully integrate into society. Ideally society learns how to integrate into the margins and fully accommodate these people.

  5. May I suggest that law enforcement agents are the only government employees who merit being allowed to unionize, to strike if their pay demands are not met by a liberal city or provincial government—and to deny any person a union membership card for any reason.

    Members of ethnic groups notorious for corruption and criminality should not be hired as police officers just so a liberal city government can cut the law enforcement budget to give away money to the parasites who thrust them into office. Period.

      I heard a story the other day of some thieves taking a pickup out of buddys yard. Buddy called his brother and then went out with a baseball bat and confronted the scrotes. His brother came over and blocked the driveway. The scrote driving pointed a handgun at the 2 brothers and drove buddys pickup out of the yard going down in the ditch around the blocking truck.

      The brother had called the police who took up the chase catching up to the stolen truck. They let the thieves go as “they wouldn’t stop”……according to the rcmp.

      I don’t how accurate this story is as the guy that told it to me saw in on FB.

      1. I am hoping that Kenney revives the Alberta Provincial Police. The RCMP are the most lazy and useless police force known to man. Arresting someone is way too much work. What they do best is hand out chickenshit tickets and charges meant to deliberately enrage citizens while letting bad guys walk.

  7. There should be more of this – police, emergency services, military – extreme shortfalls across the board until governments start realizing they are just not attracting capable applicants because they’ve created toxic operating environments with their idiot policies.

    1. JJM, there will never be enough of a short fall to make a gov’t at any level give up the progressive ideals they are spouting. The CAF (Canadian Armed Forces) is a perfect example of that, from women in combat arms units, to cripples being paid to be soldiers, no stupid idea is to stupid to implement, no matter what deleterious effects it might have on force readiness.
      At each major point of failure, the gov’t of the day will simply ease back the markers of success to match whatever amount of failure the current policies are evoking, and then try to add a little something of their own, ‘ to leave their mark’.
      You saw in in the snippet of the city hall meeting, they found the problem, and then reiterated their commitment to diversity in the next breath.

    1. So how much had you had to drink when you were pulled over?

      What choice words did you fling at the cop before puking in his face?

      What grade were you in?

      How long did mommy keep you waiting in the jail cell before she came to bail you out?

      Because that cop probably saved your life, you ungrateful wretch. Pity you never managed to grow up enough to understand that.

      1. Not a drop, I have a clean driving record for many decades and have never been charged with a crime or with a DUI.

    As to Portland and by extension, Most cities on the LEFT Coast are in similar situations. Propelled by Safe Injection Sites and Free Needles creating the “Homeless Camps”, while the city puts horse collars on their Police Forces.
