Sadly, I think the JWR show is over, the problem was always that most voters figured that the whole point of a Cabinet appointment was that you did what the party brass wanted in a more competent way than your main rivals in the caucus. Those voters who didn’t like what the party brass wanted were not Liberals anyway. Those who did chose the party brass over the renegade MP. This would have played out about the same way if party designations were different except that the media could fan the flames longer with their intense scrutiny (something you have to expect will be missing when it’s the Liberals).

    So while the fish may flop on the table for a few more days or weeks, nobody is really going to care that much and the opposition should probably find a more promising avenue to assail this government. Perhaps their entirely fictional concept of weather and climate might have more traction. People have to buy gas and pay for fuel oil. But soon with the advance of spring weather, it will be only gas appearing expensive, opportunity fading on that.

    We do owe it to ourselves to confront the elites on this issue. Perhaps a policy to increase the number of mental hospitals to house those crazy enough to want to pay a carbon tax.

By the time the principle is paid off it’ll be paid with a grossly devalued currency. I tell people that politicians hope very much for currency devaluation, the bigger the devaluation the smarter they look for borrowing the money and spending it before it lost value. In addition, Marxist economics justifies it, devaluing the currency contributes to the “global economic reset”, the new social-justice phoenix that will rise from the ashes of our horrible evil capitalist past.
