At War for Animals Niagara (AWFAN), the group that’s long been protesting horse-drawn carriages in NOTL, is trying a new tactic that targets tourist-heavy events, according to spokesperson Adam Stirr.

They never “target” Sturgis Bike Week.

Oh, but that wouldn’t work, either, would it? There’ll be accusations of strengthism, because only people with the right physiques could pull them. Since rickshaws won’t likely be used for free, that’ll be classism, wouldn’t it, as those pulling them might have to be paid, right? Clothingism would be alleged, as one might need to be dressed to suit the weather in order to properly pull a rickshaw.
And, I’m sure, there usual suspects (racism, sexism, *phobia, blah-blah-blah) will be invoked.

They tried targeting hunters, but discovered that irritating a bunch of pick-up truck driving rednecks who kill large and dangerous animals as a sport… well, its a bad idea.
They tried one time in the mid 90’s in the Bancroft area. Drove around with speakers blaring wolf calls and heavy metal. It kept the deer stirred up and moving all day. As such we cleaned up and all tags were filled. Best season we ever had. Then some twit told them and they never did it again.
It is too bad these days that so many assholes get their 15 minutes of fame thanks to the media. If I were the editor of this ‘newspaper’ I would not have allowed this to be reported as these people are obviously mentally retarded.
It’s always maddening when you discover these loons live among us…or in this case, me in particular. I’ve never been to the Ice Wine thing because I had my fill of vineyard work when I was young so I’m sure as hell not going near them in the dead of winter. Interesting to see if they will also protest at the autumn Wine Festival. There are thousands more people, but they’re generally too “happy” to care too much.

I believe these horse-rights “experts” simply insist that humans receive written permission from horses prior to hitching them to wagons for less than minimum wage. In fact, for no more than room and board … and an occasional non-sexual rubdown.

They should be kissing the feet of the people who still operate horse-drawn carriages. When the jobs horses could do better than cars vanished, so did the horses.
Me, I’m mostly looking forward to the happy day when those denizens of the Dominion who have become far more trouble than they’re worth as sources of muscle power get hauled off to the knackers’ yard themselves. If the animal rights crowd loved animals as much as they claim to, they would not object to being turned into gourmet dog chow.
The serious part of this is that these anarchists try to pick off one area at a time and their ultimate aim is to shut down all animal husbandry of any sort.
They don’t want horses to draw the carriages, then hook them up. And whip them too.
Oh well! I guess the next thing to do is to take the Spaciest and the Speiciefied and properly end the annoying one fearfulness and the Poor Annoyed Speicefied into Animal food. Raw Dog meat and particularly the Large Leg Bones with some meat left on can grab a good price.
D’yall think we should help them to enter the Kentucky Race tracks and ask them to ensure all the Stud Speiefieds are neutered and the Mares are checked for Pregnancy and induce abortion if so.
