  1. But Quebec you cannot make “dirty bagels”. This must stop immediately.
But if you use wood imported from Africa, Asia, South America or the USA, then they will be “clean bagels”

  2. So I guess my solution of just burning down all of Montreal and Quebec City won’t fly because it would be against some air polluting BS.

Damn, the burning was planned for Thursday. Guess we will just have to settle for the plague option….

  3. And when the UN nations plan of a post-petroleum economy is realized, and there is no method left outside of electrical power generation to heat your homes and cook your food, and the government controls the supply, how will memory of delicious bagels and freedom keep you warm and fed when you find yourself at odds with the regime that decides to cut your consumption because of your disagreement? (Answer: it won’t so you better start pushing back now)

    1. “If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed;
if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may
come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” Winston Churchill.

If it comes that, taking some with me sounds better than not.

  5. Maybe they can dump those bagels into the St. Lawrence river, like they did with their sewage.

  6. What’s carbon-neutral Prinz Dummkopf going to do? After all, this is in Quebec, and we know that his country can do no environmental wrong.

  7. “The SJWs Have Finally Gone Too Far”

Yes, but will they put down the joints and Bongs for mother earth? Hell no.

If they were truly serious they’d pop carfentanil like M&M’s instead.

  8. These Maolings will not rest until we are all wearing grey smocks and waving little red books.

  9. Can you get it right? It is SSJW, not SJW.

Schutzstaffel Justice Warriors. Use the label that they have earned, and so richly deserve.

  10. According to several of the comments at at the link,it’s a health issue, and one says people living nearby have “smoke filled houses” due to the bagelry.

I always thought smoke rose straight up with just a small amount going sideways, but perhaps the winds in Quebec blow differently than they do here in the frozen West.

Activist zealots couldn’t care less about the consequences of their bullying, only their victories are important to them. As soon as they can force the bagel guys out of business, it will be “on to the next battle”. They should be told to f*** off and get a life right from the start, and told that by the chickenshit civil servants who listen to them in the first place.

    1. I’m sure the new gentry moving into the neighbourhood were shocked, shocked, to find a wood burning bagel shop just down the way.

People are lazy idiots. In my area there’s a quarry that’s been in operation for over a hundred years. It owns a large tract of land and has controlled the rights to expand its operations for at least 75 years. Meanwhile, a group of morons with more money than brains bought multi-million dollar homes near the quarry and were shocked, shocked to find that the quarry was ready to expand its operations. Of course they’re now fighting to not only stop the expansion, but to close down existing operations.

Lazy, lazy, lazy. If you don’t want a quarry in your backyard. Don’t buy a house with a quarry in the backyard.

      1. It’s still the fault of the quarry, doncha know. If the quarry owners were so smart, how come they couldn’t look ahead 75 years and see that there will be houses built by the nouveau riche who expect to live there with nothing but pristine views and peace and quiet?

  11. This all smells suspiciously like the anti-smoking hysteria that has swept the world in the last decade or so. It’s amazing what the combination of a handful of noisy busy-bodies with way too much time on their hands, cowardly politicians bending over backward to appear progressive and a disinterested and inattentive public can accomplish.

    1. Just what we need: a yeast patrol. First they’ll come for the bakers. Next will be the brewers.

  12. My estimator for a wood stove installation is coming to my house on Thursday. Social Disease Warriors can eat lead.

  13. https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/montreal-bagels-and-the-pollution-problem

The particle/pollution problem has been resolved at the St Viateur Bagel Factory in Montreal! Great! As Shakespeare once said, it was much ado about nothing. The above link is an article about the situation from the Montreal Gazette, dated June 20th, 2017. This article by Michelle Lalonde has more details and in the 7th photo, you’ll see the chimney at the shop. I hope engineers have a comment about it, here at S.D.A. Of course, Josh Freid freaked out about the whole thing because it is his style to write like the late Mordecai Richler and get very excited! Josh is a zany fellow and he is beloved in Montreal for his opinions at the Gazette. He once printed a photo of his office! Yikes! I think he was the inspiration for the TV show Hoarders. Confidentially, you couldn’t see his desk, there was THAT MUCH paper piled to the ceiling! After that, I liked him even more, with all that sharing and brutal honesty! Anyways, glad the issue on the chimney was resolved with a filter, especially for Montrealers and
for visitors from the whole Planet.

Born and raised in the city of Montreal, I never had a bagel there once. I was definately missing out. (oh, merde) Personally, I prefer rye bread though. The occasional, sinful fresh baguette is good too.

(P.S. I don’t think bakers or brewers have anything to worry about. There will always be yeast!)

    1. In addition…Conservatives are and should be offended and we should eliminate the very implication of Progressive Communist Liberals into every single aspect of our lives. What’s next

Correction: Yes it is much ado about a lot.

  14. so ‘Montreal smoked meats’ is next?
    goddamm froggies.
    ribit ribit ribit.

I went to expo 67. 15 yrs old at the time. *even then* I sensed a huge veiled ummm, hostility? or just plain
superioristic attitude in some of the service sector.

    ribit ribit ribit.
