  1. Michael Campbell of “Money Talks” was once asked about “revenue neutral” taxes. He replied,”If they were truly revenue neutral, they wouldn’t apply them in the first place”.

    To believe than a government imposed tax will not bring more money IN TO their coffers than goes out in the form of grants to “the poor”, is to be so idiotic the person should have that famous blond joke device,”breathe in,breathe out”.

    FFS! How bloody gullible are people! Of course the carbon dioxide tax will cost us more, and seniors and others on fixed incomes will get back half of what the tax costs them, at most.

    How it will be done: the government will set an income level, above which people will not be eligible for the rebate. We’ve seen this before with the GST rebate, you have to be on welfare to qualify,even a person with only the CPP and OAP,which amounts to about $17,000 per year,won’t qualify for the carbon dioxide tax rebate.

    The government is NOT your friend, they will steal endlessly from you, give you crumbs back, and demand your grovelling gratitude for them.

    1. Here is my version of the Turdeau carbon plan. Every day do the following:
      a) take two dollars out of your pocket or purse – this is a carbon tax.
      b) send a dime to Justin Turdeau and 16 cents to your provincial government. This will pay the GST and PST on the service you are rendering.
      c) put the two dollars your other pocket or purse – this is a carbon tax refund.
      Congratulations you have reduced your carbon production and helped save the planet! Don’t you feel good? And you have properly paid tax on the service you performed.

      Note to Liberal party of Canada. Please send me a cheque for $10 million for this great idea. The government of Canada will make 1.3 billion a year on this.

    I see many parallels between modern society and 1780s France.
    The effete elites out to steal every last penny,morsel and moment of leisure from the serfs.
    A callous indifference for the effects of their idiotic decrees and a growing anger and resentment from the people on the receiving end .

    A tax on everything with the stated intention that this tax will ever increase and no practical means of achieving the “remedy” the takers claim necessary.

    Answer: In 2022 global warming would be averted by 0.00015⁰C annually, or 1⁰C per 6700 years. One can get an equivalent ‘climate change’ impact by stepping on a thick carpet or moving two houses north in a typical subdivision.

    If all provinces were to fully participate in the proposed carbon tax CO₂ emissions might be reduced by 90 mega tonnes in 2022, according to the Federal Government. With the projected tax rising to $50.00 per tonne the annual cost would be $4.5 billion, or $445 per Canadian family.

    But hey, someone else is going to pay. I’m all right Jack.

  10. Of course. The carbon tax is designed to drive Canadians who work for a living out of any home fit to raise a family in and into high-rise warrens. Their former homes will be sold for a pittance to Arab and African “refugees” who need plenty of space for their broodmares to pop out seven future jihadis each, all at taxpayer expense.

    We keep hearing that it will take several Earths’ worth of resources to bring all mankind to a western living standard. So why are only westerners being strongly encouraged to stop reproducing while savages are breeding like rats? Are the savages’ carbon footprint not an issue?
