  1. Hey, Juthtin, look at this:

    https://hackaday.com/2018/07/10/flawed-synthetic-diamonds-may-be-key-for-quantum-computing/

Imagine the possibilities. You remain (post-national, sharia-compliant, gender-balanced, carbon-neutral, Soros vassal) Canada’s quantum computing expert and the machines will be built by Bombardier (all at a loss but subsidized by western taxpayers, of course), using diamonds mined in the NWT.

Talk about growing the economy from the you-know-what outwards,eh?

    1. Very seriously, this is mind blowing stuff if it is a breakthrough and can be used for the modern use of quantum computers. ( all jokes aside about the leaders of countries having the knowledge in this regard ) Ultimately, researchers might use quantum computers to design more efficient solar cells, catalysts that turn sunlight into clean fuels or even more effective drugs. Is the research into synthetic diamonds ‘specifically’ due to the fact that qubits tend to decohere? So this must be, what is, an engineer’s nightmare! Many will want this technology to be put to good use and not have modern encryption defeated, for example. This would be everyone’s nightmare. Exciting yet frightening! For now quantum supremacy is an elusive concept. What a race it is! The practical uses are yet unthought of. Life on other planets, perhaps?

      1. Many of the projected capabilities of quantum computers can best be summed in one word: hype. They likely won’t be in every office or everyone’s desktop because of what’s required to make them work–if they work.

As for what the tasks that such machines will likely perform, there again, they may be limited to specific tasks, particularly those which, using conventional methods, would require long execution times or complicated algorithms.

They might be well-suited for, say, calculating large prime numbers which, in turn, could be used for encryption. Aside from that, they will probably be of little use and may remain the playthings of academic researchers.

One reason that I’m being vague about this is that what quantum machines can accomplish now would be on the order of simple Boolean logic functions.

        1. A 10 foot tall ( D Wave 2000 Q ) @ $15 million is a lot of green! Interesting stuff. TQ for reply.

          1. I’ve become cynical in my old age.

Nuclear fusion’s been 5 years in the future for the past 4 decades. Room temperature superconductors have, from what I’ve heard, yet to be developed or discovered.

Quantum computing, despite what’s been said about it, is largely still in the fundamental stages. Yes, D Wave has a machine for sale, but whether it’ll perform as advertised remains to be seen.

I recall a certain company by the name of Ballard Power Systems that built and sold fuel cells. For a while, the company was the darling of the stock market, but that reputation faded after there were problems with the devices and the company had financial problems. That’s something that’s all too common in that business.

Maybe D Wave is an exception.

  2. Meanwhile, the Israelis are planning to put a probe on the moon in February, built on a shoestring.

These are the geniuses Europe’s and north America’s moral and intellectual authorities wanted exterminated and replaced with inbred, illiterate halfwits recruited from the cesspits of the Muslim world—just so they could have cheap takeout and wouldn’t risk having a boy from a pious Jewish family take their stupid brat’s place at university.

    1. ‘And Trudeau, never one to break a mental sweat, has passively absorbed trendy ideas including relativism that then absorbed him.’
      YUP!

  3. Something I noticed today watching this video https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/video-trudeau-has-strong-words-for-russia-ahead-of-putin-trump-summit/

In it Trudeau mentions “international rules-based order three times. It’s a terrible video of him. It’s unbearable watching him sweeping his hands across the podium and stumbling and stammering his way through an answer. As bad as it is visually it’s even much worse listening to his umms and aahhs and silent gaps in between words. He’s such a poseur.

Then tonight I’m reading this https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/07/10/eu-president-donald-tusk-threatens-u-s-president-trump-appreciate-your-allies-after-all-you-dont-have-that-many/comment-page-4/#comments about the EU president threatening Trump ahead of NATO summit and down at the bottom of the article is this:

It was exactly a month ago, June 10th after the G7 summit in Canada, when EU European Union President Donald Tusk worried about the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama “new world order” legacy being dismantled:

“What worries me most is the fact that the rules-based international order is being challenged, quite surprisingly, not by the usual suspects, but by its main architect and guarantor: the US.”

Justin is a Soros new world order puppet. Liberals are getting their communication talking points from the EU globalists. Check it out for yourselves.

  4. The Globe and Mail (Robert Fife) reports today that federal Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen spoke at a venue known as a criminal hangout (i.e., for a Nigerian criminal gang operating in Canada):
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-immigration-minister-ahmed-hussen-spoke-at-venue-known-as-criminal/

Btw, Robert Fife is an excellent investigative reporter. But the pro-Liberal G&M buried this story in the “politics” section of their web page, instead of giving it main page coverage.

    1. The concerns for me on this article are the reason for his visit to the restaurant. He is hoping to curtail the flow of illegal border crossers — presumably most are from Nigeria with kick backs going to the gangs. That tells me they are not genuine refugees. The Feds need to plug those entry points. If the RCMP is there to carry bags, Why can’t they move a few feet to prevent entry? Tell people to go to the regular crossings.

Another bit is an assistant claiming the Minister attends ten events a day? Really? Well who is running the department? He is as bad as Justin. He is also a dual citizen– Canadian and Somali. In an era when immigration problems are coming from third world countries, does this create a conflict of interest? I believe he is also Muslim. These would not necessarily be issues, except for the serious questions being raised regarding problems emerging in Muslim immigrant communities in places like Europe. Again, what assurance do we have that Canada’s interests are being best served by someone with strong ties to specific identity groups? (Oh well, at least he is a citizen, unlike Monseff.) I believe the Minister is a capable person, but I think the optics also point to a potential conflict of interest — very bad when the portfolio will have such an impact on the future of our country.

    2. “Robert Fife is an excellent investigative reporter.”

Eh? Geez, here I was, thinking all along that he was nothing but a little worm. Who’d a thunk it?

      1. You an namecall all you want. But the posted article is a good article. It points to the overt corruption in the Liberal party, where Liberals are consorting with known criminals. Fife’s work is doing a great deal to hurt the corrupt federal Liberals, much more than namecalling can do.

I say this as a person who dispises the Globe’s left-wing slant.

    1. Sorry. The US is returning to the rule of law. It’s had enough of rule by lawyers.

If you give aid and comfort to enemies of the United States, you should pay for it with your life, no matter how the police find out about it.

The Fourth has become an excuse to let people who obviously have no business outside a prison or a shallow grave but might expose the crimes of our betters to go free.

Meanwhile, decent people who cannot afford white-shoe lawyers are routinely relieved of what little wealth they have and sent to prison for crimes they did not commit or that should not be crimes in a healthy society, like contributing to a patriot’s election campaign, making films criticizing Islam and globalism, or taking their sons away from their obviously unfit (drug-addled, drunken, and/or prostitute) mothers.

When Hillary Clinton is sent to the gallows on multiple counts of murder, and all loving fathers sent to prison by their harlot ex-wives on bogus charges of kidnapping are freed, pardoned, and get compensation and apologies—and the judges who threw them in prison removed, and the lawyers who testified against them disbarred—lecture me about your blessed Fourth Amendment.

My advice to you in the meantime: go to your local police station, surrender all the contraband in your possession—the drugs, the porn, all of it—and tell your town’s finest everything you know that might lead to the successful prosecution of whoever gave it to you. You want justice done, that’s how you can get started.

      1. ITT, mongoloids claim we’re returning to rule of law while advocating raping the US constitution.

“When Hillary Clinton is sent to the gallows on multiple counts of murder, and all loving fathers sent to prison by their harlot ex-wives on bogus charges of kidnapping are freed, pardoned, and get compensation and apologies—and the judges who threw them in prison removed, and the lawyers who testified against them disbarred—lecture me about your blessed Fourth Amendment.”

Well that’s never going to happen so…FO slaver.

“‘Total destruction of the market’: Investments in clean tech cool off as subsidies end

‘These are long-term infrastructure projects, it’s not like buying a new iPhone which you might do every couple of years’

OTTAWA — New data show Canadian investment in clean technology has cooled off over the past three years, despite myriad programs introduced by Ottawa to boost spending on green infrastructure and shift the country towards a lower carbon economy.

Canadian private sector investment in clean technologies have fallen by half since 2014, dropping to a combined US$9.4 billion over the past three years, compared with US$19.5 billion between 2012-2014, according to data from Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Investments rose to US$3.3 billion last year, compared to US$2.3 billion, but is less than half of the peak in 2014. Investments in the first two quarters of 2018 appear to be below the fourth-quarter running average, BNEF data shows.

The slower pace of growth mirrors a global trend, in which new investment in clean tech has eased — largely due to slower renewable energy growth in China. BNEF data shows new investment in renewable energy globally grew 3 per cent last year.

The moderate investment levels appear to contradict Ottawa’s mantra that a suite of new incentive programs, coupled with falling costs for renewables such as wind and solar, would inevitably push clean technology investment to new heights.”

“Sarina’s resulting break with feminism turned into a refusal thenceforth to see the world through the lens of ideology, identity politics or political correctness. Sarina stopped vilifying the white race; she stopped seeing the world as a zero-sum game between oppressors and oppressed. Today Sarina is one of Canada’s most ardent free-speech warriors. She is particularly incensed by Bill C-16, known as the Transgender Rights Bill, and the “compelled speech” it endorses in support of alleged feelings-based rights.”

“U.N. Green Climate Fund chief resigns after disastrous meeting”

“The Green Climate Fund (GCF) meant to channel billions of dollars to poor nations said it had had a “very difficult and disappointing” meeting ending on Wednesday, in a new setback after US President Donald Trump pulled out US support last year.

Australian climate finance expert Howard Bamsey announced he was stepping down as executive director of the GCF at the end of the four-day meeting in Songdo, South Korea, the GCF said in a statement.

The GCF, whose South Korean headquarters opened in 2013 with backing from almost 200 nations, aims to help poor nations cut greenhouse gas emissions and adapt their economies to heatwaves, storms and rising seas.

But it has been bogged down by disputes between rich and poor nations about how and where to invest.”

Hydro One’s “Six Million Dollar Man” is out the door.

Premier Doug Ford promised during the election campaign that Hydro One CEO Mayo Schmidt would go even if he had to replace the entire Hydro One board to get it done.

At the end of the business day Wednesday, it was announced Schmidt would be retiring effective immediately, and that the board members would leave on a staggered basis over the next month to allow for an orderly replacement process.”

Hungary has pledged to increase its defence spending after President Donald J. Trump pressured allies to pay their fair share during the alliance’s summit on Wednesday.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó told press during a break of the NATO summit in Brussels, Belgium, that his country has embarked on a comprehensive military development scheme — dubbed Zrinyi 2026 — which will enable Hungary to honour its pledge to increase its defence spending to the minimum 2 percent of GDP, according to Hungarian wire service MTI.”

CO2 Emissions Hit 67-Year Low In Trump’s America, As Rest-Of-World Rises”

“We suspect you won’t hear too much about this from the liberal mainstream media, or the environmental movement, or even Al Gore – but, according to the latest energy report from The Energy Information Administration (EIA), under President Trump, per-capita carbon dioxide emissions are now the lowest they’ve been in nearly seven decades.”

“The U.S. emitted 15.6 metric tons of CO2 per person in 1950. After rising for decades, it’s declined in recent years to 15.8 metric tons per person in 2017, the lowest measured levels in 67 years.”
