The Insularity & Insanity of the Anti-Trumpers

David Brooks has been no fan of Donald Trump. He still isn’t. But he has written a very interesting column that challenges the sincerity of his fellow Anti-Trumpers:

I mention these inconvenient observations because the anti-Trump movement, of which I’m a proud member, seems to be getting dumber. It seems to be settling into a smug, fairy tale version of reality that filters out discordant information. More anti-Trumpers seem to be telling themselves a “Madness of King George” narrative: Trump is a semiliterate madman surrounded by sycophants who are morally, intellectually and psychologically inferior to people like us.

  1. Hate to tell you this, Robert, but you’re citing the same article that Kate did in the posting directly below/before yours.

  2. So… they are acting like typical textbook Conservatives? An unshakeable commitment to be nice to their enemies, do what their enemies demand, and keep doing that regardless of their enemies staying enemies and always making new demands?
    Does water still rum downhill?

  3. No not in the ‘lieberal universe’, rum however still “runs” down one’s throat; usually with egg nog this time of year.
The ‘never-Trumpers’ are still fulminating with sound and fury signifying nothing, that they shouldn’t have lost the election; not withstanding HRC was and still is a crappy candidate and moreover, who couldn’t keep a server secret if her OWN LIFE depended on it.

  4. what the clown that wrote that fails to grasp, is that libtardism (also anti trumpism) function in the realm of “belief”, and therefore surf on bull$hit, you see it in here on a regular basis from the anti trumpers. I’v had a few discussions with lefties, and bull$hit rather than facts are always their forte

  5. Duplication of links is going to happen from time to time. We all find content and schedule it later for publication when busy with other things. Just deal with it!

Yes. That statement appears to be completely correct. Granted, less so with Bannon on the outs.

  7. jeez Unthing, Hawking, Einstein, Newton, the Wright bros., Jobs, JFK, myself, all semi-illiterate, cuz we are dyslexics, and all one fvck of a lot smarter than you. Live with it:-)))
