1. Even in 1993 one would have been hard pressed to find a Canadian with Rescorla’s resolve and concern for his fellow man.

2. Awesome story. A man hand-picked by God for a single mission. If he had survived he would have been tormented by the loss of 12 lives.

   1. I am very wary of using the word ‘Hero’ as it is tossed around far too casually and inappropriately in this day and age. That man, however … is a HERO. Whose name should never be forgotten. I am certain ALL the people whose lives he saved will NEVER forget his name.

      1. I wonder what the thoughts of the employees towards him were as they trudged down all those stairs and soon after saw their workplace collapse to the ground.

         1. Donald Trump is a shameless self-promoter. And yeah, much of his bravado should be taken with with a cattle-sized block of salt lick. Yet, the entire media is dedicated to the exact opposite … running down anything and everything he ever DOES (not simply brags about doing). In the face of the 100% negative Press … I don’t really blame him for going overboard. I mean the negative stories just never end. The TDS is greater now than it has ever been … meanwhile … I’ve never been happier with ANY President’s action ever in my 70years.

               Well, if you mean that ‘Them” as being a commonsense person, which would be someone who recognizes Trump as an incompetent president who is doing great harm to his country, yes, I am indeed a “Them”. Now in saying that, I fully realize that the leftist direction the Demos are going will be an even greater danger to the democracy that is the USA.

   1. Wow, it is the first time I heard about this guy. Certainly Impressive that he recognized a possible greater danger and steadfastly kept to his plan.

6. I watched Fox and Friends this morning. They interviewed Howard Lutnick. His company had the top 2 floors of one of the towers. But Sept 11 2001 was his kids first day of kindergarten, so he wanted to drop him off in person. Over 600 of his employees died, including his own brother. He made sure that the families of every single one of those employees was looked after.

7. What an amazing man.

   History is replete with those people that have the prescience to see consequences if actions are not taken. The sad fact is that those people are not listened to but in the end, Rick Rescola paid the price.

   During his “wilderness years”, Churchill warned of a rearming Germany even prior to the rise of National Socialism. If they had only listened to him, millions of lives would have been saved. In the end, it was Churchill that led the West in resolute resistance to tyranny, only to be dismissed for the “quack cure all” espoused by Clement Atlee.

    A brother-in-law of a friend of mine had to forcefully barrel past a manager who ordered his people to stay at their desks. He is alive today as a result.

    1. There is nothing that would have stopped me from leaving my desk the moment the plane hit the other tower. That port authority announcement was revolting.

    Someone needs to convince Mel Gibson to make a movie about Rick’s life.
