  1. He kinda sorta has a point. Anthropogenic global warming is real. Deal with it. That does not mean it will be nearly as dire as forecasts, or that a carbon tax is a good idea.

  3. How is it real? Provide evidence.
    Here’s mine:
    1) temperatures fell in the 40s and 70s even as CO2 rose
    2) the earth has cooled many times when CO2 was rising, even entering an ice age
    3) all of the main IPCC predictions are wrong
    4) estimates of temperature sensitivity to CO2 are declining steadily in the latest studies, with even the IPCC downgrading its estimate
    AGW postulates that man-made CO2 is the primary driver of climate. There is no empirical evidence showing that to be true. And I haven’t even touched on the fact that moderate warming is overwhelmingly beneficial to life on the planet. Most of the last 10,000 years – a time that saw human civilization emerge – was much warmer than today.
    Nevertheless, Manitoba will join Ontario as members of this manic cult, diverting billions of dollars from hospitals and basic needs to useless windmills and other pointless fantasy projects.
    Educate yourself.

  4. That temperatures fell in the 40s and 70s does not change the fact that they are rising, and that the ‘signature’ of this warming matches that of CO2-induced warming.
    I am not totally up to date, but last I heard there was a lot of back and forth going on as to whether the entire ‘pause’ from 2000 actually happened or not. Time to visit Judith Currie’s website.

  11. So the fact that temperatures fell in the 40s and 70s despite rising CO2 proves temperatures rose in the 90s because of CO2? And I suppose the pause in the 2000s was also due to CO2.
    It’s like magic.
    And the fact that temperatures were warmer for 9000 of the last 10,000 years than they are today – despite lower CO2 – also proves that if temperatures rise again it’s actually due to CO2.
    Definitely magic. Amazing what a trace gas that makes up 0.04% of the atmosphere can do. Equally amazing is that if we simply hand control of the economy and personal liberty to a select group of leftist politicians and bureaucrats, they will control the climate for us as easy peasy.
    Wynne is doing a killer job in Ontario already at the low low price of just $1 billion in interest – per month – on their mounting debt.
    But, hey, no rush, go check if there was indeed a temperature pause. You might be able to fit it in between your public declarations that AGW is real.

    A.. Attempt to convince us they are actual conservatives.
    B… Tell us just how fabulous the feel and colour of their Emperors News Clothes are.
    C.. Explain how “beneficial” a tax on air shall be and claim that the feds are going to impose it anyway so that makes Taxing Air A OK.
    Never will you hear..”Stop the stealing” cause that is what they all depend on.
    Imagine, if our competing layers of kleptocrats and fools were unable to steal from the productive members of society, what would be their status?
    Truly amazing how empty heads like John, Unme, whatever… keep assuring us “Anthropogenic global warming is real”..Yet we cannot measure it or define the component of the possible temperature increase that is down to man..
    Shit we cannot even find todays so called temperature increase in the noise of our data sets.
    0.7C in a data set with an error range of 1.4C (measurement error of+/- 1F) before “adjustments”.
    Compounded by a 0.9C positive bias introduced by electronic measuring systems replacing mercury in glass & the mark1 eyeball.
    And it was Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming that was the big scare….Where is my catastrophe?
    I was guaranteed a Catastrophe by all these “sky is falling” wailers..bring it on
    However I fail to see how economic collapse brought on by fools and bandits has anything to do with weather.

  13. Whether or not there is global warming is absolutely irrelevant.
    Believing governments can solve a problem….any problem, is the issue.
    Letting governments try to solve global warming will have a range of outcomes.
    At best: energy poverty and starvation. At worst: a human cull (complete with cattle cars).
    Me and my grandchildren will take our chances with global warming….

  15. Question: When our scientists measure C02 levels above Canada, how do they know what portions of the gas are derived from say, forest fires, automobile exhausts, Chinese factories or German sausage makers??
    So I should pay taxes on my gas and electricity to subsidize Chinese factories that are in direct competition with Canada and the USA, and who have no respect for their own environment, much less ours.

  17. There is no Global warming. There is no peak oil, no oil shortage.
    I’ve been writing this on this blog for over a decade.
    Despite the continuing rise in CO2, global temperature has plateaued and remained at stasis since 1998.
    CO2 is not a driver of temperature, CO2 slowly follows temperature’s crests and troughs.
    Temperature is a determiner of CO2, to some extent, rather than the reverse.

It seems logical that the quantities of man-released Methane and Carbon dioxide have made “some” change to the climate but try as they might, the rent-seeking community of CAGW hysteria pimping has had to corrupt the very science they have been trying to monopolize to unscientifically reinforce the same hypothesis. Vote pimps have used and continue to exploit the hysteria as a fantastic fear-inducing diversion to the people enamored with shinny objects and free stuff from the reality of the bankrupt welfare states they pretend to rule. Canada has an electric grid that relies on 81% non-emitting sources (63% hydro, 17% nuclear and wait for it…………………1% unreliables). We are already one of the least emitting nations on the planet in power generation and even assuming that the hysteria is half right, focusing on the f…..g unreliables is insane. The carbon tax is entirely useless as a tool to engineer the climate of the planet particularly by focusing on the weakest of the greenhouse gases. It is a tax grab and virtue signal for the innumerate and illiterate LPC and NDP voters and also apparently the happy-faced socialist carpetbaggers of the Conservative banner.
