  1. I adore doggies. of all sorts. even the abused ‘junk yard’ types that got a rotten deal.
my estate is going to the welfare of critters, they have never lied to or about me, cheated, bullied, or any other predatory violent abusive acts. they have otoh, obeyed me, comforted and entertained me and given a love that goes beyond words in the english language.
I actually get a tear in my eye with stories like this. at least the little fellow is going to be ok.
    scaREW humahns.

  2. Florida.
Yea, i dunno a lot of crap going on around the world and at home than the Toronto Sun worrys about an almost murdered Pitt Bull in Florida. They do know that they eat dogs in China and other parts of Asia as a daily diet yes?
There was an ISIS inspired attack in Edmonton the other day that didn’t get much care in the Canadian press. Islamic rape gangs across Europe are so common they’re boring apparently. But an aleged puppy serial killer whose appearently not very efficient at killing puppies is BIG news. They must be looking for a racist white Trump supported here.

  3. 1. I Love all animals, and treat them with respect. Even when slaughtering them for the table.
    2. I am NOT a fan of pitbulls, pit bull cross breeds, and other “attack” dogs.
    3. I am not a fan of “bans” however I am even less a fan of children and old people slaughtered by (previously so well behaved) pitbulls. Yeah, yeah, I get it … I am a breed bigot pitbulls are gentle blah, blah, blah. And that it is “the owner”, not the breed. Sorry … but it’s BOTH. And the two should be separated
    4. A dog is not a human is not a toad is not roach is not a little girl. PETA is insane.
    5. Dead dog in a suitcase Public OUTRAGE … dead human in a suitcase … meh.

I love people MORE than my pets. And I love my pets … and treat them like royalty. But my dog is NOT equal to my wife … as annoying as she can be at times.

  4. Kenji breed specific legislations are the “assault weapons ban” of the dog world. Look at Ireland for example why.

  5. Yes, and scarrrry black riffles too and extra license should be required to drive pick up trucks and SUVs, for the children!

  6. Understood, and agreed … I labeled them “attack” dogs … but could easily have used “assault” dogs.
I am conflicted, but ultimately come down on the side of freedom and liberty … and jail time for miscreant owners.

  7. I feel bad for the dog, however I fail to see the relationship between banning pit bulls and abusing animals! In SW Sask. ranching communities, they had to ban horses from bars because cowboys would enter the premises on horseback. My uncles would ride their horses into the bar on Saturday nights, just to raise hell!! They didn’t abuse their horses to protest the law!!

  8. I agree. Many disordered people who were dog/animals abusers transitioned to become serial killers.
Harming dogs, who are well labelled “Man’s Best Friend” is a very anti-social personality characteristic.
That said, I’ve never understood why these dumbasses have easy access to the Glades with it’s gators and yet dispose of bodies so ineptly.

  9. My dog is better than a GREAT MANY humans, so yeah, these stories are important. I hope they nail the sadistic SOB. People who harm animals often up their game if left unchecked.

  10. Oz, my exact thoughts. When one fool threatened to kick the shit out of my yapping 14 pound pup, I told his to make sure his LIFE insurance was up to date. The look on his face was priceless. You hurt my dog, I hurt you!
As to certain breads, I am conflicted as Kenji is, I don’t think some of these dogs should be out in public off leashes, or owned by stupid people, or criminal types. Having said that, I hate over regulation.

  11. LOL
BTW, I don’t walk anywhere without several conceal carry options. A pit bull attacks me it’s deader than Jimmy Hoffa before it’s asshole owner opens his stupid yaw to protest.

  12. yah matt yer tuff, especially when yer running off at the yap like an old woman eating a soup sandwich

  13. Take a deep breath tough guy, none here is remotely interested in letting their dog anywhere near you. None here questions your right to self defense either. No need for the Donkey Kong act.

  14. The sad reality is that while breed bans are indeed a slippery slope (and I’m inclined to believe that slippery slopes are the least of logical fallacies), pit bull bans are creating fewer of them in shelters within the jurisdictions that have the bans.
Pit bulls are deluging our shelters and rescues in the States; quite a lot of them are culls from fighting dog breeding programs or come from stock who are themselves culls from fighting programs (the ONLY people actually breeding pit bulls with a purpose…and that purpose is one that creates a dog which isn’t suitable for being a pet; moreso even than military/police bred Shepherds and Malinois…whose breeders are very up front with their dogs’ predilictions and capabilities and will tell you that they are not for everyone, especially first time dog owners or even people not well experienced with that type of dog).
As the public catches on (mainly by observing stories of people or other animals attacked — sometimes fatally, often with severe deforming injuries) fewer of these dogs are getting homes (and fewer non-pit dogs in the shelters too, as nobody wants to go there anymore to find a pet) — more of them are being euthanized.
While one abused puppy is horrible and one too many, I would suggest looking at how many are being euthanized in the shelters each year — we can count them by the tonnage! (yes, the tonnage, it isn’t hyperbole).
Isn’t that very cruel as well? To say the least of the people and animals who have suffered death or maiming? Isn’t it cruel to them as well?
That’s not even going into the human element of this — dog fighters are usually not the nicest of people and are frequently involved in other criminal activities…reducing their ability to engage in crime by banning their dogs does sometimes help a bit — including the gratuitous abuse of puppies (I notice this happened outside of the pit ban jurisdiction zone — where do you think the dog fighters and their hangers on would congregate?).
Pit bulls need to have their numbers severely reduced. There is no other way around this. I don’t like breed bans, but pits are PETA’s perfect vehicle for getting rid of dogs overall (a bad run in with a pit can ruin people’s liking of dogs in general for life, with good reason). And that is one of the agendas.

  15. And another thing: gun laws/gun rights is an entirely different argument than dog breed bans.
A gun is a mechanical instrument; it has no self-direction; it doesn’t have a autonomous body that controls itself outside of the person firing it.
Dogs are not guns — even the best trained of them are not 100% under our control. Animals are not machines.
Any person making the case that gun control = dog control is going to make the gun rights people look the ass. This will weaken gun right’s arguments.
I own guns — I want to be able to keep them. I own dogs of the working type — I want to be able to keep them. Keep me out of the pit bull argument; I’m not on your side, and you are not helping mine.
