Have you ever seen this product for sale on a Canadian supermarket shelf?

I bought it at the enormous Jungle Jim’s Supermarket in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was actually pretty good, with a not overly sweet maple taste. Bought it was bottled in America, so I wonder if it’s as much Canadian as Canada Dry is [nowadays] ?!

If it originates in Canada there should be a warning label: Too Sweet to be Wholesome.
But no, I haven’t seen it here.
It is a post national soda.
When PopRocks first came out we could only get them across the line in Sweetgrass. Most infuriating was the rear label. It read “Product of Canada.”

I looked it up. It’s manufactured by Rocket FIzz out of Reno, Nevada. There isn’t a drop of maple syrup in that soda. There is natural maple syrup flavoring. And, it’s not sourced from Canada. It’s made in-house in a lab.
FDA Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), a product can use the name of a real food (like “Maple Syrup”) in its title if that name represents the primary recognizable flavor of the product. The FDA permits geographic terms like “Canadian” or “French” if they are widely understood by consumers to describe a style or type of flavor (like French Vanilla or Canadian Maple) rather than a strict certification of origin.
I guess that means my Blue Raspberry Mt. Dew doesn’t really have any blue raspberries in it. Now, I’m depressed. 🙂
“Now, I’m depressed.” So are your raspberries apparently.
It’s weird that they didn’t use the maple syrup to sweeten it, instead using cane sugar.
Maybe it’s just cheaper
Could always try: https://sappy.ca/shop/ols/products/strawberry-sappy-case-of-24
Thanks for sharing, though my previous ignorance was bliss!
Canadian Maple Syrup sucks.
How do you tell everyone that you’re diabetic without telling everyone you’re diabetic 😉
I don’t eat the stuff period. But everything made in America is superior to their Canadian counterparts
I wanted to buy that … but Trump’s “TAX” [sic] made it unaffordable …
I love actual maple syrup, and I’ve never heard of maple pop/soda, it sounds good to me and I’ve had a couple of periods in my life when I’ve eaten that on blueberry pancakes for 2 years each time.
I believe it is now called America Dry not Kan-A-Duh Dry, if so it is now worth buying.
I had Chinese last night for dinner.
Nothing in it from China.
We should probably call it “Chinese-style.”
We should probably call that soda “Canadian-style.”
“I had Chinese last night for dinner. Nothing in it from China.”
That stuff is as American as apple pie. It was invented in America by chinese cooks who made the food ingredients tailored to American tastes.
I like the stuff a lot. My wife can take it or leave it. Mostly leave it. It’s one of the proofs that she loves me.
Sounds disgusting. How much added sweetener/sugar?
170 calories?
I suddenly have a yearning for a bottle of Creme Soda. Sayyyy … what’s actually IN Creme Soda?
Vanilla.
Love cream soda! As a rule, I try to stay away from soda, but I try to treat myself to CS about once a year.
I liked cream soda as a kid. Now, once in a blue moon for nostalgia.
Root beer is my favorite pop, always was. Did you know that root beer was America’s favorite soda pop for generations until Coca-Cola came along? It’s true.
Coca-Cola was America’s first energy drink. A real pick-me-up. It had cocaine in it.
When I lived at CFB Penhold back in the day, my best friend Ralph had a father that was a cook at the Lower Ranks Club. Ralph had 2 brothers and no mom. Same last name as me. Another kid on the same block had the same last name as me and Ralph too. Steve.
Anyway, Ralph’s father was the best cook on the base. He made homemade root beer. It was the best.
Better living through chemicals.
I agree.
I take that motto seriously, but I’m picky as to which chems I’ll take.
My brother would use some of his own home-made maple syrup in his soda stream machine to make a lovely, fizzy lightly flavored maple soda. Delicious!
