  1. Exactly what I thought of when I heard about the shutting down of that plant. Wynne is nowhere to be heard on this one.

  2. Look at the numbers: 850 million for 140 turbines = over 6M per turbine. there is no way any turbine would recoup that level of per unit cost. not at all sure how much they actually cost to build so I suspect someone made a lot of money – at least until the order was cancelled and then at what cost?

  3. They, voted for it, they hate Mike Harris, let them sleep in the beds they have constructed for themselves. Buying carbon tax indulgences should be more than enough to keep them happy.

  4. Not to worry ! Gov. Jerry Brown will be placing massive new orders for windmill blades to accomplish his demand of 100% renewable energy in CA … by the time of Jerry’s death … about 3-years from now based on the rapid onset of his Alzheimer’s …

  5. Exactly. Hopefully this shutdown becomes permanent, with more to follow elsewhere.

  6. Good thing there aren’t any wind projects planned for Saskatchewan and no Sask party supporters bought a closed down Hitachi windmill factory in Saskatoon. If that had occurred we could be paying through the nose like those Ontario folks!!

  7. The shutdown is permanent. Make no mistake about that. As for those good folks in Tillsonburg I doubt no more than 2% voted for this disgusting felonious government Wynne and her Liberal cabal care about no one other than those living in the GTHA.

  8. If so, those are the most expensive and least productive Government jobs that money can buy.
Saskatchewan needs to stand firm against the pressure.

  9. Hard to replace the economic benefits of tobacco. They should develop an integrated economy of vaping paraphernalia, marijuana plants and authentic human prostitution (as opposed to the political and otherwise). Throw in some gambling and the place would rock.
If Tillsonburgerites were smart they would adopt the strategy of their western brethren in the Dover to Sarnia area where the wind turbines are installed. These people do nothing but receive cheques from the government due to the installed turbines that may or may not be turning.
Hint: the private companies will always give up before the government gives in.

  11. Sorry. Received a strange error message stating too many comments were being submitted at the same time. Of course I’m commenting from White River so one comment may be too many…

  12. Not bad news, but the brain-washed will be told ( and many will accept) that this closure simply highlights the need for greater wind subsidies.

  13. Strange how media reports never have room for more incisive descriptors like
“politically astute rent seeking scoundrels close doors as scam winds down”.

  14. I dont know what to do now, the news reports lambasting ms wyynedfarm’s epic ‘green(?) energy’ catastrophy are showing up so fast I cant keep up with them. and what makes that a problem? because when they do, I get a printed copy and hand deliver it to the local lieberal mpp’s constituency office.
