Fighting for Saskatchewan

“This is a fight for Saskatchewan interests and we’re going to take the fight to the public arena,” Wall said on Friday, adding that the province is “going to make our case over the next number of weeks.”

“It’s not there. The bottom line is, they have not done it,” Wall claimed. “How can you do that without an economic assessment?”

I dunno, ask Premier Notley.

  1. So how much, at 10 dollars a ton is it going to cost me to fill up my vehicles? How much per liter on gas and how much per liter on diesel fuel? And how much at 50 dollars? I realize that the cut by the oil companies will increase every long weekend as is the case today but it would be nice to get a rough idea.
$10 per ton is totally meaningless to the average person so lets talk real money.

  2. Simple fact is…..anyone outside of concrete utopia’s….pays. Cost to each and every person, industry, business, goes up. Money flows to Gov, of whatever stripe. What they do with it is anyone’s guess.
The person on street, and everyone else, pays. The COST OF LIVING North of 49, goes up.
Your disposable and actual “cash in pocket” goes down. For what purpose?? Simple fact, Fed Gov is spending like sailors in port, they need a source of revenue, they are broke, need money, The Greeenies and and Enviros, believe this is a fix. It is not.
When they freeze in the dark, have no heat, power, food….the Feds will blame the KULAKS of the land. They will take it from them, and wonder why no one works, pays taxes, or contributes. Thin edge of wedge, but, the view of the elite and wing nuts is….no harm to taxing folks outside urban central.
Socialism defined….just the first step. History in the making. Karl Marx et al…at work in Canadian Politics.
Sad, but true. Only consolation, they do not, and would not know how to heat with wood/coal/buffalo chips…grow something, hunt and eat something, or raise crops and livestock. Read history folks….we are on our way there. Russia etc.
They have NO RISK, as outsideof major urban centres….no one supports/likes/trust them. Wonder why. JT and crew are reruns of old policy and mindset….West is toast, rural is toast…they pander and woo the urban and wingo factions.
Oh well, as one , or more have said…enjoy the decline…we are on our way. Carrots and roots anyone…know how to run a coal oil/oil lamp….best have a look…just saying 🙂

  3. I’d like to hear small potatoes respond to the question whether this “price on carbon” will be a source deduction or will it be added at the cash register.
Cause as Wall has revealed, Leisuresuit Larry hasn’t taken even a moment to consider who is saddled with this price or how much it will reduce the GDP.

  4. “$10 per ton is totally meaningless to the average person so lets talk real money.” CRB
I would say that WALL just made the Statement that will be heard echoed across the USA. The little Potato was bluffing to send a message, the message has boomeranged.
Hillary will run from Carbon & regulation. The blow back has started
Real Money is any money that is flushed…for nothing

  5. Brad wall for Prime Minister! Yes, Yes say the real people! Or just call them deniers, skeptics, bumkins whatever your loony Liberal hearts desire. God I miss Stephen!

  6. CRB: Be careful with your inquiry?? How dare you question a decision that was made solely by the almighty Justin, carbon slayer extraordinaire!!
Funny that you brought that up!! I was just visiting a garage, what was once a Ford Dealership in a small Sask. town, and where my grandad bought a Model T in 1918. That makes it damned near 100 yrs old. It’s now a repair shop. The owner still had records that showed how gasoline prices were NOT supposed to change after the metric meters were installed. Ya right!! The oil company was going to spend $2500 for new pumps and not raise the prices to pay for them. Gas and diesel doubled in 5 years, motor oils and other lubricants almost tripled. Someone had to pay to retool and change all those new containers.
Who do you know that has an instrument that can measure CO2 in the atmosphere?? If the government tells you that they’ve reduced CO2 by 10%, how will you know that’s correct?? How will you know which CO2 is caused by forest fires, volcanoes and peat fires, and which CO2 comes out of an exhaust stack, pipe etc. Will Mr. Trudeau ask his Quebec cohorts to plug their smoke stacks up and stop burning logs in their millions of fireplaces?? Will he ask them to switch to natural gas instead of wood when they boil maple sugar to process and sell to unsuspecting American tourists?? Will the Montreal biker gangs be forced to install catalytic converters on their motor bikes when they deliver stuffed toys ( that resemble Bohnomme Carnaval) to needy children??
    We’ll wait and see!!

  7. Goodale alluded to it on Gormley this morning. Use the carbon tax to eliminate the Provincial income tax. Sounds great to the urbanites that aren’t bearing the brunt of the carbon tax, until their jobs disappear because the economic engines of the province are no longer competitive. Never mind that eliminating income tax would do butkis to reduce emissions.
That pandering little comment really bothered me.

  8. Little Potatoe has got it all wrong THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING…..IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!! Canada will soon be like he USA poor….the elites will get to keep their money and yours as well.
The Vote in 2019 is going to be important. WE NEED TO RID CANADA OF THE LIBERAL GOV’T AND ITS SPEND THRIFT WAYS!!
    Go Conservative Party Go!!

  9. … He added that Canadians need to address climate change …
No they don’t. We are a nation of Canucks, NOT Canutes.

  10. When it comes to taking action which will actually be negative for you personally, then (and only then) does a person really have to decide whether they believe in human-caused climate change as an existential threat so great that we must take unilateral financially-negative action.
For many of the people of Saskatchewan, that time is now. For the people of Ontario etc. that time is not yet (they don’t realize that their electricity bills are already a payment for this cause). When that time comes, each person will “admit” if they don’t really believe.

  11. The theory goes, if people have less money then they can’t do stuff that uses carbon.

  12. And the usual suspects will be shocked and appalled at Wall’s comments. Apparently the idea that a provincial political leader expects and cost/benefit analysis and an accounting of all known economic risks is somehow new and unheard of. Actually it’s the standard procedure for businesses and families.
All BS, of course, they just don’t want an accurate accounting of the costs, temperature benefits or economic risks because it’s all pain, no gain. If it’s all about a symbolic effort then they really are out of touch schmucks because this symbolic effort causes real negative financial impacts for families and workers. Unemployment and energy poverty (like in Ontario) is a stunningly cruel way to make a symbolic gesture to impress celebrities and international VIPs. And they wonder why populism is on the rise all over the world.

  13. ha ha wonderful! Canute was actually NOT trying to hold back the tides, he was demonstrating to his sycophants that some things were beyond his control.

  14. Yes I know, but the modern C’nts seem to have forgotten.
Soon, captcha will be demanding repetition of Hamlet’s soliloquy.

  15. It is a total fraud.
The proponents of ‘global warming’ always say ‘carbon’ whenever they are talking of ‘carbon-dioxide’.
It is to show how nuanced and progressive they think they are. Perhaps they think that everyone really knows that carbon and carbon-dioxide are the same thing.
But it is nothing but a ploy to associate ‘carbon’ with ‘black’ and ‘dirt’ and ‘pollution’. A problem that can only be fixed by a tax that brings them revenue.
    Thus ends todays lesson.

  16. “It’s not there. The bottom line is, they have not done it,” Wall claimed. “How can you do that without an economic assessment?”
Tough shit Saskies. It’s about time that you learned that we either Hang Together or we Hang Separately.
You Saskies can take your Alberta ‘Red Rose’ jealousy and shove it up your ass.

  17. We could have some fun here.
Inundate Bobblehead Ralphie (that would be Goodale) with anti AGW rhetoric/stoopid Liberal bombast (like I like to do. Great entertainment!).
Don’t get a lot of responses, but they might get the message….But it’s probably more like talking to a stump!

  18. Goodale alluded to it on Gormley this morning. Use the carbon tax to eliminate the Provincial income tax.”
No need to reduce the incomer tax .It will reduce itself. NO JOB,NO INCOME, NO TAX.

  19. Remember to switch away from Telus and remind your friends to do the same.
Telus supports Trudeau’s carbon tax in order to have a clean economy. Meanwhile they get rich selling phones that are made in China. Liars and hypocrites! Just like all the other lefties.

  20. Goodness Oz you keep mentioning the ‘Red Rose Country’ thing. It’s a wee joke or bit of fun using the Alberta licence plate slogan. I don’t find it offensive and I’ve lived in Alberta.
If we can’t laugh at some of the crazy crap happening in the world today when can we laugh?

  21. It’s a slander on Alberta and the WildRose party and it doesn’t bother you?
You cannot imagine the size of the shit that I do not give.
It’s crazy you say? Yes, I will agree with that. Kate and lance pose as champions of the right and CRAP on Alberta, the rightest province in the whole country.
    It ain’t funny to me.

  22. It’s true, though. I live here, too. You can’t say it’s the rightest province in the whole country. There are lots of rural Ontario and most of Sask I’d take over large chunks of Alberta. Furthermore, have you been to Edmonton, Nenshi’s Calgary and Lethbridge anytime recently? People bitch about Have Notley but there’s nobody to replace her.
Special Ed, Redfraud, Notley, Jason Kenney’s alleged leadership campaign, Danielle, gun theft without repercussions… exactly how is this a conservative province anymore?

  23. Words are cheap. So far, all I have heard are words. Is Wall going to impose a trillion dollar tax on any flight with a Liberal on board that enters the province? Is he going to kick the RCMP out, and make Saskatchewan a right to carry and shall issue jurisdiction? Is he going to stop building windmills? Is he going to start summary executions for social justice warriors? Words are cheap; wake me if he actually stands his ground when CBC calls him names.

  24. Where’s Fougere? When does the operation to wall off Goodale’s riding begin? The streets should not be plowed. The garbage should not be picked up. The water should be shut off. The heat and lights need to go off. EVERY LIBERAL IN THIS PROVINCE NEEDS TO SUFFER. And their suffering should never stop. Elections have consequences; and the people who elected Goodale need to feel them first, longest, and hardest.

  25. Athropogenic climate change is the biggest fraud placed on mankind, since the time of Galileo. The idea that CO2 is anything but a life giving gas defines logic. A carbon tax is as stupid as the ideas in “Gulliver’s Travels”. The Liberals are ruining Canada!

  26. Red Rose=WildRose. I honestly didn’t see that connection.
Lance when you made up that header were you equating Albertans and the WildRose Party to Reds?

  27. Are you guys serious?
Alberta is “Wildrose Country”. It has nothing to do with the “Wildrose party”.
Alberta has been falling further into the socialist toilet since the new millennium.
The mantra of the 1993 Klein victory was we don’t have a revenue problem we have a spending problem. They went about cutting spending, balanced the budget, paid off the debt. Since that happened we’ve had Ralph bucks, royalty increases, the queens penthouse, private use of government aircraft, Prentice raising taxes, increase spending and running huge deficit. Then the defection of Danielle and her ilk. It has been a pathetic decade and a half. I told a PC candidate to get the hell off my property when he started to argue with me about the health care premium. The $1000 a year tax that we had to pay after we had already paid our taxes. Thus “Red rose country.” That was just the beginning of sorrows. Now Notley.
There is a difference between ridiculing Albertans and ridiculing the Alberta government. SDA stands with those who support freedom. Don’t shoot the messenger when government corruption is exposed.

  28. This whole AGW/Climate Change fraud never has had anything to do with “climate” as such. It is just a convenient scare tactic to enable the implementation of the socialist Frankfurt School dream for the west and by extension the world.
http://www.schillerinstitute.org/fid_91-96/921_frankfurt.html A lengthy but critical article about how we got to where we are today.
After the Soviet Union collapsed thousands of its sympathizers and the more radical western socialists and hangers-on were in a political vacuum. A coalition Eco/fascism/socialism movement began to pick up the pieces .

  29. C’Mon gurls. For years on this site I pointed out the fact that AB was as liberal as any place in Canada. Got the scars to prove it. The conservative era ended with the election of Lougheed.
They were progressives – nothing more. The
progressive vote was found in the PC party until it rotted out. The conservative vote exists only in the ranch community and they cannot deliver a majority government.
Are we going to have to start a protest to fix the phequeing captcha

  30. Listening to Brad Wall on BNN yesterday, I was thinking that he pretty much represents the sentiments of at least half of Alberta and Saskatchewan and at least a third of Manitoba and BC. He is the only provincial-level spokesman for Western Canadian “conservatives” standing up to the Spawn’s Butt and his agenda.
The fact that he is also playing the game (that CAGW is something worth pandering to) is because to be considered electable within the lockstep media inquisitors, he has to stand in front of their Altar.

  31. John Chittick, you summed up nicely. I would rather stick a gun in my own mouth, than ever again support someone who in any way cares about electability. Every time I hear fools who continue to care about “electability”, Homer’s urge to kill rises. I would rather watch the entire country buen, than allow another human tights tribunal to convene. If you only want to sliw down the progressive death spiral, YOU ARE IRRELEVANT to me. Only people who will fight are worthy of consideration.

  32. Wall just has to do three things.
Keep public with his disdain of the autocratic LIEberals and their commands.
Let the LIEberals institute the CT. After all, they said all money collected would stay with the province.
Then Wall can give it back, proportionately, showing how ridiculous the tax is.
AT the end of the day, its the Low Info Tater Tot fans that have to feel the pain of the CT. When their tank costs $100 to fill, when it used to cost $60, and $20 of that is a CT that didn’t exist, they might think twice.
Typical LIEberal supporters, they are all in favour of taxing the other guys, until they find out that there is NO other guy, they are the targetted ones, and are too stupid to know it.

  33. The theoretical models say so, and that’s just good enough for the Lying Left.
Remember, for them, theories = Facts. So sayeth Tater Tot the Quantum physicist

  34. ‘Are we going to have to start a protest to fix the phequeing captcha’
Every computer is different but this is what I do and it seems to work:
I make the comment, find a captcha I can read and type it in, press the preview, find another captcha I can read and type it in, press submit, let it think for a few seconds then x out of that thread. That should take you back to SDA home page. Press refresh. If you don’t use google it may even close the site. Shouldn’t Matter. Refresh the site and go to the thread you were working on and your comment should show.

  35. Alberta keeps sliding left. Just look at the last 4 leaders. Bunch of crybabies they are now.

  36. The mistake Alberta made was allowing Newfoundland to invade & interbreed… They invented
the Metric system (Powers of Ten fingers). Counting fish, and another one, and another one).
The politics of Alberta changed since 1949 when the Joey Smallwood Socialists sweep onto the Main Land.

  37. ‘Joey Smallwood Socialists’
Joey Smallwood was closer to a communist than a socialist. Bernie Sanders and Smallwood would have seen eye to eye on a lot of things.

  38. Joey was so dumb it was probably a smallish bag full and besides anything he may have stolen pales in comparison to what he and his governance did to Nfld and its people.

  39. “Joey Smallwood was closer to a communist than a socialist. Bernie Sanders and Smallwood would have seen eye to eye on a lot of things.” Nold
Sorry I didn’t finish my post… Joey like M.Mann had his head into recycling, He was almost drown in pig Shit, lucky his pigs died.. M Mann may be a descendant of Joey, he recycles crap as hockey sticks…Three fingers of Screech will straighten those sticks & de-Carbon Mann’s plumbing…
Joey was a Canadian character, worth reading his ideas.

  40. THE PROVEN CORRUPT LIBERAL GOVERNMENT of CANADA & SEVEN PROVINCES —cannot “Kite-Through”-y’all know like Kiting a Cheque –because One does not Really Have Proper Support for the Cheque–Soooo; The CORRUPT LIBERAL CANADIAN GOVERNMENT is Kiting-Through their ___THIRTY NINE-___Percent VOTE Using an Already Recognized Phony Liberal PROCESS only distributed to Liberal Crony Crowd Approvers To avoid a Referendum on DIS-allowing Canadians to ELECT A LOCAL RESIDENT as THEIR M.P.
Premier Wall is being Set-Up to HAVE a BUDGET Deficit NEXT TIME Because Saskatchewan IS JUST IN counting ONE of THREE Provinces which does NOT have a LIBERAL PARTY GOVERNMENT.
Y’all see the Liberal Party Provincial Governments are Either “Have-Not” Provinces OR Have BIG Deficits OR are similar to ONTARIO having both.

  41. lance didn’t make up the header, dumbass. Kate has been using it regularly since the NDP were elected.
You didn’t notice because you’re braindead.
RightnotWrong thinks Alberta keeps sliding Left but nothing could be further from the truth.
The truth is that Alberta conservatives have been trying to get politically unaware idiots like RightnotWrong to recognize that the Alberta PC Party has been infiltrated and taken over by communists since Red Ed Stelmach was elected leader of the Alberta PCs.
The WildRose Party has been winning ever increasing numbers of seats since then and trying to displace the Alberta PCs with voter awareness ever since.
WildRose will take government next general election. WildRose would have won last general election if Jim Prentice had not seduced key WilrdRose MLAs.
Nevertheless, all of the seats traitorous MLAs attempted to flip to the PCs were not only won by new WildRose candidates, WildRose INCREASED their total seat-count despite not running a full slate of candidates after Prentice called a snap election following his coup seducing said former WildRose candidates.
    What did it all mean?
It means Alberta voters have a solid core who want true conservative change and will have the means to make it happen next general election.
