We Don’t Need No Stinking Giant Fans

“In simple terms, the wind increased and some transmission lines went down but electricity generation continued. It was only the as-yet-unexplained reduction in wind farm output which overloaded demand on the interconnector with Victoria, causing the whole network to seize up.”
A storm did this. It’s a good thing Canada doesn’t get storms.

  1. Communist China and the Soviet Union routinely hid both natural and man-made disasters from the public. Then, when something HAD to be said … they LIED about the true causes. But I am sure any similarities to this disinformation policy … is purely coincidental.

  2. That’s because communism was a perfect system and any mistakes or mishaps that occurred were due to counter-revolutionary sabotage.

  3. “as-yet-unexplained reduction in wind farm output which overloaded demand”
What kind of moron thinks that this is “unexpected”?
THE DAMN THINGS SHUT DOWN WHEN THE WIND GETS TOO STRONG.
Where the hell is my PhD?

  4. We need to change the term renewable, referring to wind and solar, to the “unreliables”.

Top Environmentalists Aghast As Germany’s ‘Energiewende’ Turns Into A Green Dystopia!

First vigorous support followed by cheers
But then came silence and then denial,
    Followed by downplaying
    Today, outrage is exploding
That’s the story of Germany’s attempted Energiewende (transition to renewable energies).
The mood has turned 180° since the early days. Once welcome, Germany’s Energiewende is now being met with shock and outrage as the envoiornmental destruction takes on unforeseen dimensions.
Even German envivonrmentalists, once huge proponents of renewable energies like wind and solar, are no longer able to take it any more as the Energiewende ravages the country’s environment and turns the notion of environmental protection into a fiasco.
Now that Germany’s Energiewende has been in full swing for a number of years, many leading environmentalists are in a state of shock as huge areas of the country are being deforested and landscapes disfigured to make way for hundreds of wind turbines.

  6. “It was only the as-yet-unexplained reduction in wind farm output …..”
Just off hand here, could it be that the windmills did not spin because of no wind or wind more that the gentle 30 km/hour?

  7. Just bought a new GM SUV. Comes fully prept for global change warnings. Was in a parking lot during our unseasonable snow storm today. . Sign came up on my dash. “Icy condition may occur” Was that a relief would not of thunk it.

  8. “The South Australian Government and the renewables industry can no longer credibly argue that the reasons for the fault relied solely on the weather. Images of downed pylons do not tell the whole story.” “In simple terms, the wind increased and some transmission lines went down but electricity generation continued. It was only the as-yet-unexplained reduction in wind farm output which overloaded demand on the interconnector with Victoria, causing the whole network to seize up.”
“Gas generation continued through the storm and the transmission line faults as did supply from the interconnector. Importantly, it was also the Torrens Island gas-fired Power Station that was used to re-start the electricity network later that evening.”
“When you rely on the weather to generate electricity, and the weather turns bad, then you shouldn’t be surprised when your electricity system in turn cannot cope.” “While renewables may very well have a place in our future energy needs, their uncontrolled rollout, powered by federal and state government subsidies is starting to do Australia damage.”

  9. No more stupid windturbines no more kill protected birds and bats just so some dumb bunch of granola munchers can watch their mindless Earthday Specials or cook their veggieburgers and heat the water for their herbal tea

  10. The report would suggests that a “Remote” Control Fail safe shut down multiple Wind Gens in 6 physically separated locations… common mode failure…not related to the storm damage
A Communications error Fiber/Sat/ other… would trigger a fail safe
Just BS thinking on my part
