The Supreme Court of Canada wrote this in Stinchcombe, 1991:
“The Crown has a legal duty to disclose all relevant information to the defence. The fruits of the investigation which are in its possession are not the property of the Crown for use in securing a conviction but the property of the public to be used to ensure that justice is done.”
She’d be the perfect Secretary of State for Hillary – all the right qualities.

The existence of the second guy in the back of the van is not new. I read about him and what he originally had to say last year shortly after the event. The defense should have been on this from the beginning, perhaps they were and the current kerfuffle is all to mess with the prosecution.
I can’t remember where online I read about it, but IIRC Gray was thrashing around violently in the van while the cops were trying to belt him in and they gave up on it. Then Gray was throwing himself around in the van as it was moving.
