  1. It’s a sad state of affairs. They all need to be fired. Health care savings accounts funded by taxes and private hospitals delivering the service – get rid of the public sector health authorities; education saving accounts funded by taxes and charter schools and get rid of the education ministries an school boards; write off 90% of regulations that stifle economic activity and the bureaucracy that administers them.
If you want to grow the economy, that’s a start.
Taxpayers are being strangled by the status quo who are doing nothing but feathering their own nests at all our expense.

  2. There’s a fundamental law in industry: if it works, don’t fix it.
So why should governments fix the system? The status quo works for them. Politicians can keep trotting out the same promises, the same accusations each election and they don’t have to think of anything new to say. Voters, after all, generally have short memories.

  3. He says the Alberta carbon tax will be good for the environment but not the economy.
    Wrong!
Carbon taxes are not beneficial to the environment, if anything they are detrimental because they make the society poorer and poorer societies are less able to care about the environment.

  4. All “green energy” does is hide the pollution in other countries. It does not and cannot replace base load power. It is a fraud from start to finish. The governments most in favor of it are those which have overspent the most. It is nothing more than a new tax which (some) people are stupid enough to think it is “for the environment”. Absolute bilge.

  5. To break Michael Campbell’s speech down into a few words: we need a revolution.
As he says, they (governments at all levels) aren’t going to do anything BUT maintain the status quo,and why would they,it works very well for them.
This isn’t exactly the “elephant in the room”,but exactly what many of us have been stating here at SDA for years.
From Free Trade agreements to labor laws to carbon taxes,it’s all done for the elite and their enablers, and it always has been and always will be.We have been divided along various demographics, and completely conquered.
Some of us are naive enough to believe we actually have a choice in who rules over us.It doesn’t really matter who is the overseer who beats you, you still get the same scars.
At least in the old days the Powers had the decency to be subtle, today’s bunch is so contemptuous of us it makes me cringe.
We had a brief shining moment for a few decades where we peasants rose above our station, and the aristocracy has been fighting like hell to regain their superiority.
    They have succeeded,completely.

  6. We’ve seen in recent elections that those we vote for really aren’t running the show.
In Alberta, Red Rachel may be premier but it’s her unelected, mainly imported, goons who determine policy. Similarly, Prime Minister Hair Do doesn’t do anything. The real power is Butts, who may well be a George Soros flunky.

  7. +1 totally. The only avenue left short of torches and pitchforks is to go Galt and watch it burn.

  8. If you want to watch real life cronyism and government gridlock
watch PBS Frontline “Business of Disaster”. It is a real eye
    opener.

  9. Well duh.
    Every one here knows that.
The question, can an established Kleptocracy be reformed, without violence?
Can we the host, negotiate a reasonable rate of predetation with our parasitic hordes?
Has negotiation with parasites, such as our progressive comrades, ever worked?
    What common ground exists?
I am coming to believe reform is impossible, however I am still open to evidence.
Mostly because I fear the self who is quite happy rolling up its sleeves, spitting upon my hands and commencing to thin the freeloaders on my back.
If I am to be robbed of the return on my initiative and labour, why shall I bother?
If I am to be deprived by government of the savings I have to date, why should I stay my hand toward its agents?
Remember the government preaches,do not steal..Mostly cause they hate competition.

  10. You nailed it DM. And you as well, John Robertson.
Nothing is going to change in this country unless and until a sufficient number of Canadians get angry enough to make some headlines. But I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Year after passing year depredation by governments gets worse and worse, but all we get in response is an increase in keyboarding.
And if anybody thinks the Conservatives – under O’Leary, Bernier, or anyone else – have any desire to change things, please give me a call. I know a Nigerian businessman who will make you a hell of a deal on penthouse condo in Pyonyang.

  11. Yup, go Galt and give the govt as little of the fruits of your labor as possible.
The cash economy is more resistant to govt interference.
It won’t go to ratshít all at once everywhere. It’s already started in the immigrant ghettos of the big cities and it will spread from there like a cancer. It’s moving slowly enough that a smart person can stay ahead of it and avoid most of the problems.
Small towns where you can barter your services and grow your own food will be the smart place to be in the coming decades.

  12. The less public servants there are, the less amount of money are needed in taxes. Sometimes a catastrophic event is required at all levels of government. Target rich environments would be every provincial and federal capital city–and targets would include every teachers’ lounge in every school (during lunch hour when the kids are outside), every cop on the beat and yes every person who is on welfare. But cuckservatives are pussies and they will hide behind their jobs and virtue signal to anybody within earshot how they’ve got more important things to do with their time (and their children’s futures) than actually do what is required…and would be the first people whose panties would be in a twist when this stuff started happening…matter of fact they’d be the first to call the cops. Enjoy the decline.

  13. Socialism depletes wealth in an economy, which results in less prosperity, which is blamed on capitalism, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The tax system puts more people into poverty than anything else, so statists raise taxes on the poor (carbon taxes for example), which results in worse poverty and extinguishes prosperity, which is blamed on capitalism.
Statists then double down to the inevitable of running out what’s left of the people’s money. Capitalism is causing all the problems because Marx said so over one hundred years ago in his incomplete analysis, rife with omission, of some British industrialists. Then statists take that incomplete analysis, without context or history other than that which serves them, no matter how prosperous our society, or present economies or the predomination of the middle class Marx never truly anticipated or mentioned.
No Marx said capitalism of 1850 in Britain is bad so that’s it. The fact the working class saw their standard of living rise is an inconvenient truth that need not enter the dialectic.
The fact the states has abysmally failed to wither away seems not to bother them as long as they have power, perks and control of others’ work and fruits.
No other answer other than bigger government and more cronyism for ideological insiders is offered by socialists, statists and totalitarians. The poor are poorer; more socialism. China is polluting the crap out of the world; shut down the capitalist energy industry. Science is perverted in the name of social justice, then fails; more socialism. It’s always going to be more socialism.
Mike Campbell said he wasn’t sure if they were smart and cunning or stupid and dull. Socialists are both, depending on the situation or what side of the argument they are on. Hint: it’s always socialism.
They follow the same track so there should be no surprise that prosperity, freedom and safety diminish under socialism. Right that’s capitalism’s fault.
It will always be so until capitalism is defeated along with prosperity and freedom, with our very thoughts and attitudes handed over to a bunch of party insides who have never experienced capitalism, except what their leftie prof told them, or some idiot journalist opined without foundation.
No worries; just blame capitalism. There’s your bad guy not the entitled hypocrites of the establishment.

  14. Let me fix some of this for you. I am not a grammar NAZI , but your grammar is underwhelming.
“The less public servants there are, the less amount of money are needed in taxes.”
The FEWER public servants there are, the less money IS needed from taxes (unless the public servants are going to be paid higher wages). I am normally skeptical of anyone who can’t get grammatical agreement on numbers who wishes to talk to me about numbers.
However, I notice you used the word “cuckservatives.” That is disgustingly ignorant and insulting. A real man does not use language like this, unless he is face-to-face. You are obviously too cowardly to do that! I’ve seen quite a few of you pharisaical conservatives popping out of the woodwork lately. Your attitude is why the road back for conservatives will be long and hard.

  15. “Your attitude is why the road back for conservatives will be long and hard.”
Nope. The road back for Conservatives will be long and hard because they are not conservative.

  16. A government should be fiscally responsible, and should have NO SOCIAL POLICY WHATSOEVER.
Some people might label that ultra-conservative. I like to think of it as normal.

  17. Ultimately Campbell misses the real elephant in the room and that is the fact that there is now and it will only accelerate a reverse population bomb where there are not enough children being born. We are putting a bandage on our cancer with by importing people from other nations but that is a short term solution to a long term problem.

  18. The reason that politicians don’t know how to get the economy going is that the only way to do it is to get government out of the way of the productive.
Government is coercive. To raise the standard of living requires freedom — the opposite of coercion — in order to enable economic rewards to those who find ways to make more or better goods and services, and/or to use fewer resources in doing so.

  19. Don, you get a bingo for that, as does Jamie for, “Nope. The road back for Conservatives will be long and hard because they are not conservative.”
Jamie, by the way, Canadians will never get as upset as our neighbours to the south are as we are too used to bending over.

  20. Well, thank you for correcting my grammar. A cuckold is someone who allows his wife to be used by other men…the conservatives have allowed their votes to be used to enact progressive policies. While not technically correct, most people can see the parallel.
But lets examine what has happened to our society. The ability to defend oneself or family with lethal force using a firearm. This mindset took generations to change, because once upon a time in Canada a bear, cougar, wolverine, wolves or violent people could/would break into your home and your only recourse as a homesteader was to defend yourself or die. Yet somehow, cuckservatives allowed this right to be taken from them. How about abortion…that’s murder pure and simple..yet the cucks allowed babies to be killed and didn’t do anything to change it when they were in power. How about the theft of firearms by RCMP from homes in Grand River, AB. During whose watch did that escapade take place? The RCMP is a federal police force…how hard would it have been for Harper to fire the RCMP Superintendent and order the RCMP to return those rifles? However hard it would have been, it should have been done, because it would have set the tone. And last but not least, cuckservatives brag about how they work and pay their taxes (probably the last bastion of society to do so), however the money you pay in taxes are used to enact the progressive policies you abhor and pay the police or Human Rights Tribunals who stop you from voicing your opinions or even the truth (gay marriage, LGBT, anything negative about Muslims, etc, etc). I think the title fits perfectly, because if cuckservatives went out and trashed the homes of their left-leaning MPs in order to change their minds regardless of what their Party Whip says and made the police fear their numbers…then they’d be conservatives.

  21. By the way, I used an improper verb tense again so you could concentrate on that rather than the actual message I was conveying.

  22. Right on Favill – about Grand River AB.
Harper didn’t lift a finger to help the people in Caledonia either when he was petitioned.
Yes, it was provincial police jurisdiction, but there was no provincial law enforcement.
And then the knife in the back was approving the nomination of the Ontario police commissioner (Julian Fantino ) for the riding of Vaughn after he orchestrated the mess.

  23. Just curious Favill.
have you ever taken the resolution of a violent conflict into your own hands, when the laws have failed you?
If so, did you get it right?
The right punishment for the right criminal?
Ever thought we set up the Justice system to protect ourselves?
Shame we let it evolve into the present Just Us wing of our kleptocracy.
Destruction is the path of fools or last resort.
If I stand for civilization, productive creation and personal wealth, violent revolt is the acknowledgement that all of these things are lost to me.
    beyond redemption.
    Are we there yet?
Rational people do not turn their backs on everything they hold dear, to make political points, hence we are perceived as weak by the parasites and freeloaders.
However the perpetual children will not understand “No” as final, there seems no end to their theft and vandalism.
How would you suggest we educate the fools and bandits, without burning the country down?
Not that it matters much, I see a reset coming soon,as the “other peoples money” has run out.

  24. not having a clue about how any business functions is the main reason why government always destroys that which keeps them alive.

  25. That’s exactly it, John Robertson. We’re running out of other people’s money. Precedent has been set in Cyprus. How will you react when you open up your bank or investment account and 50% or more of your money has been taken by governmental decree? To whom will you run and complain? How about if the police show up at your door and say they’ve got a search warrant and essentially take everything from cash, your spouse’s jewellry, the art off your walls and everything else of worth?

  26. Who was the first fvcking idiot to do carbon taxes in Canada Mike? Tell me it wasn’t your brother Gordo.
There is no such thing as a neutral tax moron.

  27. “”They have NO IDEA.”” No kidding? A bunch of socialists thinking gvmnt IS the economy and not knowing where actual growth or a country’s wealth is actually created. Our marxist educrats have dumbed down the population and now most of them can only listen to the nauseating bleatings of a MSM that fawns over politicians with nice hair and who promise even more funding. The status quo reigns and will NOT stop until we either take it back (and we won’t … baaaa baaaaaa) or the whole thing collapses into a virtual black hole of fake fiat debt. And then they’ll blame CAPITALISM!!!

  28. He tells us WHY?? Could it be they are BOTH economic morons with a pro-MARXIST, pro-GAY & pro-Izlamic agenda?? What could possibly go wrong??? To hell with true capitalism (which BTW we haven’t seen in the west for at least 50 years now) and our way of life. Let’s just spend all our money well into the future FIXING a society which WAS likely the most UN-screwed up civilization EVER.
One poster suggested they should be FIRED. I agree. As in: READY ….. AIM ….
