A Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb For Iran

The White House and its supporters were set on two goals, one of them trivial, the other terrifying. The trivial objective was to give a failed presidency at least one foreign policy legacy item. That was to be expected, since the Obama administration, in permanent campaign mode since the day the president took office, has presided over the worst American foreign policy in the modern era.
The more stomach-churning objective is that the administration, as it turned out, really believed in its pledges to get America out of the Middle East, and decided early on that the only way to do this was to replace the United States in the region with a duumvirate of Russia and Iran. Here, the JCPOA was part of a huge gamble to transform the region, with nuclear weapons the secondary rather than primary issue. That’s why J Street and others were involved: they were far less concerned with notional Iranian nuclear weapons than they were with advancing President Obama’s Middle East legacy–without having to admit what it was.
[…]
It makes no difference if this or that provision of the deal is ironclad, because the White House never had an intention of enforcing any of it. The JCPOA wasn’t a deal to stop a nuclear weapon, it was part of a plan to further a foreign policy agenda with which very few Americans would agree if it were stated to them clearly and unequivocally.
For those of us who thought the Iran deal didn’t pass the sniff test from the start, it is bitter consolation that all this is coming out now. Sometimes being right isn’t much of a comfort, and this is one of those times. But there’s a far more damaging problem in all this: not only has the United States burned a lot of its credibility in this farce, but so have a fair number of journalists and experts.

Read it all.

  1. The only good thing this filthy piece of worm ridden filth has done for america is record breaking gun sales

  2. But there’s a far more damaging problem in all this: not only has the United States burned a lot of its credibility in this farce, but so have a fair number of journalists and experts.
Firstly, the a fair number of journalists and experts have already lost most of their credibility during the mulatto’s reign. The media has been losing credibility over many years now … no one believes much of what they say.
Further, I don’t consider the loss of journalistic credibility as bad thing. The sooner EVERYONE stops listening to them the sooner they will get our of the business of lying for liberal politicians to make them look less stupid and destructive than they are.

  3. In a related story, NPR received a $100,000.00 “donation” from “Ploughshares” … to shill for Obama’s Iran deal. NPR promptly squelched all interviews with opponents of the Iran deal. This deranged group need to change their name to “Swords” … because they’ve got the Bible verse backward. They are enabling Iran to build Nuclear weapons out of their oil … destabilizing the world … NOT promoting peace.
EVERYTHING you are being told by the LEFT is a LIE ! We, conservatives have known this for a long, long, time … but I believe that the majority of well-meaning, good-hearted liberals are just waking up ! Trump in a Reaganesque landslide !

  4. Har! It’s nothing at all for conservatives to describe the MSM as stupid, ignorant, and vicious, but it is nice for their ringmaster to say the same.

  5. Remember all the sneers from the liberal journalists about how us tea bagging extremists who opposed this deal were so dumb because the deal was being advanced by such a smart group of people therefore we must be wrong? I’m just going to sit back and watch all this playout exactly the way we were all saying it would.

  6. “I think we have too many nuclear weapons. (I don’t see anyone getting to zero, but we can get to “very low.”)”
No. With nuclear powers such as Pakistan and North Korea, soon to be joined by Iran in an “entente” of powers committed to denying the USA hegemony over anyone, nuclear weapons will only proliferate.
The,one “sunny” day, someone will decide to use them.
I hope that someday history will record Obama as the f***ing traitor to America and the West that he really is,that is,IF there’s anyone left to write it.
And there are still some on the Right who believe carrying on his policies would be better than Trump!
    Mind- f’ing boggling.

  7. On a lighter note, my vocabulary has increased a bit… My list of english words with “uu” in them has grown by one (I know of five now)!

  8. We can assume that half will be taken out initially and that half won’t work properly.
All of a sudden “too many” starts to look like, “not enough.”

  9. Is anyone foolish enough to believe that Iran [or any other group with oil money] does NOT have nuclear weapons? Of course they do.
This is actually about Iran being entitled to publicly declare they have nuclear weapons.

  10. And VJ smiled, and then laughed.
Valerie Jarrett undoubtedly had significant input into President Obama’s Munich-like deal with Iran, which kicks the nuclear can down the road to assured detonation over Israel, which Iran continues to threaten to wipe off the map when it is not wishing “death to America”. Her influence over President Obama is legendary:
The Iranian-born Jarrett (her parents were American-born expatriates) is the only staff member who regularly follows the president home from the West Wing to the residence and one of the few people allowed to call the president by his first name.
Her influence is shown by an account in Richard Miniter’s book “Leading From Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him.”
It relates that at the urging of Jarrett, Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden three times before approving the Navy SEAL mission in Pakistan on May 2, 2011. Seems she was concerned about political harm to Obama if the mission failed.”
Huma Abedin will presumably assume the same role as Valerie Jarrett does in the Obama administration
if Hillary Clinton wins in 2016.
And Valerie would get to laugh again.
But that’s OK cuz Trump is a ( insert multiple expletives here ) loser who doesn’t have any foreign policy experience.
Never Trumpers,,, now that’s a laugh

  11. “Trump is a ( insert multiple expletives here ) loser who doesn’t have any foreign policy experience.”
That is unfortunately a fact. Unrelated to the discussion, but a fact nonetheless. And please don’t counter with: “he will be better than Ogabe” we all know it already.

  12. The longer term ramifications of this idiot’s 8 years in the White House have yet to be written but written about, those years will be. The global cost will be staggering to say the least. Now ponder for a moment should Hillary be his successor.

  13. Iran got it’s nuclear power plants from Russia. Iran is buying 3 more nuke plants from Russia over the next couple of years and may, with Russian help, build as many as 8.

How many people here have been applauding Putin the last couple of years?
What was Obama supposed to do, make war with Russia?
Putin likes Trump. What would President Trump do that Obama hasn’t done on this issue?

Given the above, why are people here so wee-weed up about Obama’s part on this issue?
-note: I am not an Obama apologist but come on people, get up to speed on the realities here-
