Reading how “therapists” and “counsellors” support this sort of thing, I’m reminded of Oliver Cromwell’s words:

Let’s get something straight, the vast majority of transsexuals have the same genitals they were born with, 0.3% of the population or otherwise. Unless and until their sexual organs are changed, for psychological, bathroom and shower purposes their sex has not changed.
Just finished watching Bill O’Reilly interview Kierstan Mcsomething. He specifically asked her if she agreed, referring to an editorial, it was OK for an 11 year old boy who was “transitioning” together with his penis to become a girl, to shower with 11 year old girls.
It was OK with her partly because the boy was “not attracted to them.”
OK Kiersten, gay men aren’t attracted to women; so it’s OK for a gay man to share your shower? Does that include Bruce Jenner or any other penis-equipped transsexual, since they not attracted to you?
Does the left give any thought to any issue, rather than the f-you smirk of their perceived social superiority?
Apparently the fact there’s so few of them is supposed to matter too. Good luck with that one. If little Billy had his penis surgically removed for a vagina, then he is a little boy for bathroom & shower purposes.
Go ahead, present that question to the electors; sure they’ll go along with the presented proposition will they? No they won’t, and Obama nor another politician therefore has the right to impose their ideals that are clearly at odds with public opinion by simply calling them intolerant.

Some day these “surgeries” will be viewed in the same way lobotomies are viewed today.
Somehow I knew this was all coming … after it became medically-acceptable to perform “designer vagina” surgery. Not medically necessary … but … “a real confidence booster in the bedroom”. Now, all manner of human mutilation is acceptable … if it “boosts your confidence”. The end is near.
What is not being discussed is the narrowing of gender roles. Back in the day, a girl could be a tomboy or really “girly”: she was still a girl. She was allowed a wide range of expression without “concerned” adults saying: “oh, you like … you must be really be a boy.” I liked science and math, other girls in my class did not. Did that make me any less of a girl? Not to mention, years later, less of a wife, mother, and granny?
Spoiler alert – I let my husband deal with mice. Some years ago, I was reading the paper in the living room when I noticed our cat really, really playing with a toy. Then I realized it wasn’t a toy. Then I realized it was still alive. At that point – liberated woman that I am – I whipped upstairs to the bedroom and woke my husband. He came downstairs just as the cat was hustling the mouse down to the basement to – I am convinced – release it into the crawl space for future use. Husband took over and dispatched mouse with slipper.

That being said, I am firmly convinced girls and boys should be allowed a wide range of expression without being channeled into “or you’re obviously of the wrong gender”. One grandson loved “Frozen”; now he’s greatest ambition is to be a Storm Trooper. We’re watching all the grandbrats and encouraging them in their various enthusiasms; I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to limit their dreams and ambitions by applying some distorted vision of what male and female are. The grandbrats will – I hope and pray – grow up to encompass a wide range of enthusiasms and talents without any narrow-minded SJW trying to tell them that said enthusiasms and talents mean they aren’t really the boys and girls (and later men and women) they obviously genetically aare.
Ha! They will be seen as the pinnacle of human achievement, the ultimate triumph of social justice, the acme of civilization, and the goal for which all the scholars and thinkers throughout history strove for.
Accomplishments such as landing Armstrong and Aldrin on the moon, the invention of the first transistor, or finding cures for diseases will vanish into insignificance by comparison.

Push a lot of confused teens onto the transgender agenda, and you have a gravy train – from the “consultants” who persuade the confused young’uns they are “transgendered” (whatever that means) to the surgeons and staff who perform said ops, to the pharmacies who supply all the hormones to keep the “wrong” (as in real and actual) gender in check, and then the social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists who are salivating at the thought of all these new clients (on our dime, of course, and totally because of our “transphobia”.

I know many ‘tomboys’ who happily grew to be wives, mothers, grandmothers. They are always the most interesting women, as compared with the ‘girly’ girls, who never seem to grow beyond their beauty. Nearly all of those ‘tomboys’ chose to be with men when they reached puberty, but a few preferred the company of women. None I knew wanted to become men. People didn’t seem to think oddly about it, but in those days most people were not into calling attention to themselves. This recent generation with their insecure ‘look-at-me-I’m-special’ attitude perplexes me.
And just who will shoulder the blame when, 20 years down the road, the suicide rate for today’s transgenders skyrockets? It’s now something like a 20-fold increase in the suicide rate for transgenders, when compared to comparable peers who did not undergo “the change.”
In spite of all the cheerleading that goes on, transgenders as a group turn out to be a very, very unhappy bunch.

There have been gender neutral washrooms in all public buildings for decades. Even those with a handicap of gender confusion can use them. This is a non-issue flogged by the media.
Geez, don’t know what was wrong with my grade 8 class. Thirty-six kids, none of them on Ritalin, not one of them with ADD, PTSD, Autism, etc., peanut allergies, scent sensitivities, and…certainly not one of them who wanted his/her artillery re-arranged.

However it will go on, there is great concern and sympathy for people who think they’ve been dealt the wrong gender, the wrong tools. It’s a media obsession as we’ve seen with Bruce/Caitlin Jenner. Not sure who the hell cares much about a craggy old dame/dude like Jenner but it feeds a cause.
Sadder still younger children….how long before young girls who show tomboy tendencies or young boys who show a female side are interfered with by parents or all-knowing authorities. Will it become standard practice?
Of course, and any parents who don’t let any of their children follow their “true” identities will be charged with child abuse.
In the utopian society that the left wants, parents are merely a means by which new citizens are created. Once the children are born, the state takes over and those parents will no longer be involved. The state knows best, you see.

the insurmountable incongruity I see is the fact there seems to be this emphasis on ‘becoming’ gender whatever, instead of emphasizing that, well young adult, you are what you are, very unique and very special, NO NEED TO ‘BECOME’ SOME ALTERNATE ‘THING’. just be what you are, embrace it, celebrate it the SAME WAY disabled CANNOT suddenly ‘become’ superathletes, and observe the now seemingly obsolete tenet that your rights END where the others’ rights begin.
