A company called Iron & Earth is asking the provincial government to help support its Solar Skills campaign, a project that aims to train 1,000 electricians from the oilsands sector to install solar panels on 100 public buildings, making their skills marketable across the energy sector.
“Now is definitely the time to be launching this organization,” said Iron & Earth founder Lliam Hildebrand,
Who is “oilsands worker” Lliam Hildebrand?

Here’s his Youtube channel.
Big tip of the hat to Dan.

OK … I read both your links which reported on the same study that “suggested” coal-fired plants in Asia “could” be responsible for a deep water version of mercury. The study “estimated” that 80% of this deep water mercury “could” be caused by Asian coal fired power plants. You see, I know HOW to read. Read for content, read the precise meanings of words and phrases. And based on what I read, this study by U. Of Mich. and U. Of Hawaii is utter crap.
I read LOTS of “studies” like this which contain -0- data or detailed information. Neither of these articles presented ANY data whatsoever. Just innuendo and inference. It frankly reads like most every Global Warming “study” that I read, which is to say they are nothing more that projected statistical estimations built on imaginary data. What I call: statistical ju jitsu.
You may choose not to believe it, but I c-a-r-e about the environment as much as you do. But I also care about people. We need to care for BOTH. Fake studies that (rather transparently) have an anti-coal agenda aren’t helping either humanity or the environment. I’m sorry to break it to you, but this study isn’t science … unless you believe that computer models built on imaginary statistical projections is “science”.
Our Universities aren’t doing science anymore (judging by this “study”) … they are doing political advocacy disguised as “science”. We are WASTING our limited resources on JUNK science. It has to stop, if we are going to clean up our environment. PS … I reread my last post and didn’t call you any “names” directly, however if you want to infer something or claim a microaggression … You might want to find a “safe” space to hang out in ? Might I Suggest the campus of Emory University ?
Oh ,.. and BTW … here’s some “support” for my “opinions”
http://blogs.wsj.com/indiarealtime/2016/02/16/india-and-china-have-most-deaths-from-pollution/
and when you finish reading about wood and dung burning in Asia … just ask me what other of my “opinions” require support
“Albertan = drooling untrained moron.”
Now, now. Don’t be so hard on the NDP voters. After all, it’s not their fault that they’re young and are only fit for make-believe government jobs.
Fall off the deepend of the pool there much Sparky?
What Morontariowe is doing is treasonous, increasing the cost of CLEAN hydroelectric, inexorably, in order to overpay, astronomically, for bird killers and solar panels (from CHINA, dumbazz). But hey! Here comes PM Dufus, throwing OPBM at everybody, that\s a a solution right? Just keep borrowing $30 BILLION a year, I’m sure that will work out REAL well, especially for the POOR and LOW INCOME. They are always the ones to suffer the most during any and all economic recessions and auterity periods.
And by the way, no one was talking about coal, but, yes, there is clean coal, and yes, there is great technology, that was in use, to scrub the emissions down to almost unmeasurable levels.
But activism and ideology got in the way of science, so those plants get mothballed.
But hey there Sparky, go fly off into China and start your protests there. THAT is where the problem IS, right?
Run along now, and go chase some windmills!
Yeah, you got that right. The Kleins have been wealthy socialist aristocrats for a while now – Naomi & Seth are at least the 2nd generation of such.
What a bunch of losers. Surprised to see Nathan Myhvrold’s name there, thought he was smarter than that. Billionaire former Chief Technology Officer with Microsoft and author of the stunning (and expensive) Modernist Cuisine cookbook. Bored or ignorant about what he signed up for or maybe he’s just a flake.
