  1. Every time I see another politician preening about how green they are and how they will save us from carbon pollution, my stomach churns. I provide them (or whatever underling reads their emails) with study after study and testimony after testimony showing how ridiculous the CAWG meme is, but they have drunk the kool-aid and do not dare counter the popular propaganda. I am very worried, because I -AM- thinking about my children and what a sordid, nasty existence they will have when the alarmists destroy our prosperity. The only response I have received of late actually dared to quote the 97% figure.

  2. The New Dictator Party (NDP) of Alberta did a very poor job of defending Carbon Tax/Sales Tax. If they ever get rid of anti-oil and anti-pipeline advisors from other provinces, then perhaps there is a small splinter of hope for the oil industry in Alberta … I would not count on it though. The NDP need new revenue badly to pay for all the new union workers and present union workers … after all, not one union job lost.
“Trudeau said that for the past 10 years there was no federal leadership on the climate change file …” nor did the LIEberals do anything after signing the Kyoto Accord. In fact the so called dangerous Carbon increased under their leadership. All advances on the file was done by the Conservative Government.
    Thank you Brad.

  3. This “per capita emitter” comparison offers nothing helpful to a province with a smaller population, that happens to be an energy producer. Wall could have stayed away from that trap.
“Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall, who is the most outspoken critic of a nationally imposed price on carbon, welcomed the agreement today, noting that something has to be done on the climate change file and his home province was “a high per capita emitter,” within the federation.”

  4. Wall is a CINO.
Where is the privatization of the crown corps?
    Completely wrong on the senate.
No coherent outline for equalization reform.

  5. Thank you Premier Wall, and Lance for posting this. I note that of the couple dozen comments I read on the CBC site I was pleasantly surprised at the high number of thumbs up there were for Wall and no more taxes.
I agree that he could have stayed away from that trap, but the snake oil fruit fly peddlers have so brainwashed many of the people over the last few decades that he (hopefully) is only paying lip service to the fraud.

  6. Our pinnacle of civilization is built on CHEAP, ABUNDANT energy, water, and food. That has got to just piss-off all the Marxists who are hell bent on restricting, taxing, and generally PUNISHING our success. They won’t be happy until the entire population are standing side-by-side in the rice paddies, hoeing weeds without the aid of machinery. THAT’s their collectivist dream … and all the little brainwashed children finds that image soooooo romantic … and natural … until they actually have to live that way. Cap + Tax, sequestration of carbon, co2 this, and co2 that is one giant pile of poo poo … it’s ALL about the Benjamin’s in the pockets of the Eco politbureau “elite” … it’s ALL about YOUR money.

  7. In Saskatchewan, we deal with Carbon Dioxide much the same as we do with Liberals. They both get buried!

  8. No new taxes?
“federal government will not undo what the provinces have done, we will add to it.”
Yeah, Wall at least said something, but they are going to get their paws on our money somehow no matter what, in the name of Global Warming.

  9. Sorry , but this is just the beginning. Calculate your net worth and figure out how much 2% of that is – you have what your new capital tax will be. And as you know we now have a large and growing deficit ,so the government will need more money. Look for an increase in the gst. Enjoying that tax cut yet ?

  10. Wall said this:.”…noting that something has to be done on the climate change file and his home province was “a high per capita emitter…”…
When will he grow a pair and call out the climate change scammers and propagandists?
The government cannot control the climate.
Canada ia not ’emitting’ anything dangerous so he should not be laying the guilt trip on Saskatchewan.
    So.tired.of this.

  11. I saw a piece on Global National tonight that prefaced a piece on the Vancouver meeting with, ”While Alberta has not been the poster child for global conservation and emissions measures…” What crap! No mention of Saudi, Angola, Nigeria, Venezuela, CALIFORNIA. They preface their piece with a fallacious statement and then proceed to support that statement with another load of crap. They make me puke. They are so full of it! And no politician to stand up and say the F-bomb.

  12. The subtitle says “Justin Trudeau says carbon pricing is ‘one tool’ in the fight against climate change”; that can be edited to “Justin Trudeau is …’one tool’…”

  13. the thing that sticks out most in this to me, is the god**mn presumptuousness of turdeau 2.0 that the premiers would trip over themselves to abide by his ‘edict’.

  14. Wall has planted the seed of doubt and delayed the carbon tax and he should force the Liberals to explain the merits of a carbon tax grab. After a few more months of Junior and his budget, which is likely to have tax increases and massive debt, maybe the global warming groupies won’t be so eager for a new tax. We must remind them that a tax is a tax is a tax.

  15. In Saskatchewan, we deal with Carbon Dioxide much the same as we do with Liberals. They both get buried!
Apparently Goodale escaped your burial party..

  16. Mr. Wall should introduce a CDF (Carbon Detaxation Fund) to combat climate change. In addition to no new taxes he should promise to de-tax the economy by 5%, in other words take 5% of all taxes currently paid in Saskatchewan and put the money in a CDF (Climate Detaxation Fund). The CDF should build up until measurable negative effects from human caused climate change threaten Saskatchewan at which time the fund can be drawn on to mitigate such negative effects. In the meantime, possibly forever, half of the interest generated from income raised by investing such a fund should be used to reduce Saskatchewan’s debt until it is gone. The other half should build in the CDF. Once the debt is gone then half the proceeds should be used to reduce taxes until Sask folks pay no PST or provincial income taxes.
This way Mr. Wall recognizes the catastrophic effects of climate change on Saskatchewan, none, while prudently preparing to protect Saskatchewan from the dislocation (none) from such catastrophic effects. A positive side effect of his prudent policies will be lower debt and taxes for all fine folk of Saskatchewan. Those that think this process is not enough they may voluntarily pay extra taxes into the CDF.

  17. Thank you Brad Wall. I wish I lived in Saskatchewan.
I noticed that CBC gave our Manitoba NDP Premier a Free Pass.
it is obvious that Peter Mansbridge hates Brad Wall and loves the carbon tax! CBC will be doing all it can to defeat Brad Wall in the coming Provincial election!

  18. Unless I’m missing something, Alberta’s cap and trade system … with proceeds going to research in Alberta, was implemented by a previous PC regime.
Anybody who figures the NDP would reverse this is deluding themselves.

  19. Great idea D. I.
“The CDF should build up until measurable negative effects from human caused climate change threaten Saskatchewan at which time the fund can be drawn on to mitigate such negative effects. In the meantime, possibly forever, half of the interest generated from income raised by investing such a fund should be used to reduce Saskatchewan’s debt until it is gone. The other half should build in the CDF. Once the debt is gone then half the proceeds should be used to reduce taxes until Sask folks pay no PST or provincial income taxes.”
I was tempted to reply in the Shiny Divestment thread that the best investment was land in Saskatchewan. I believe that if TSHTF, this place will be the last place affected, and will suffer the least. Most people in rural Saskatchewan can still take care of themselves.

  20. I really wonder sometimes Mr. Tulk if you actually read what and understand the premise being presented.

  21. A quick survey of folks I know revealed that nobody understands anything about this carbon crap con game. Some thought it would only tax rich corporations, others thought it would reduce carbon emissions but nobody could explain how it worked. Most thought it would not affect them although Ontario’s budget mentioned 3-4 cents a litre when their plan was implemented.
Thank you Canada once again, for electing Shiney Pony.

  22. Well Detaxt & Sexton Beetle C. D. F. sounds Great!!!!—–The only thing is the Royal Canadian Navy Ordinary Seaman of the 1950’s and 1960’s-(mignt still be the same)-The Lower Deck Personal Navy recognize C.D.F. as —Common Dog F**k— I guess it really means the same.

  23. Gord Tulk – I agree completely. No “new taxes” but Wall has increased personal tax from 40% to 44% this year.
    CINO indeed.

  24. Thank you Mr. Wall for standing up to this farce!
    You have my vote sir!
Only idiots would fall for true dopes chicken little and the sky is falling carbon scam!

  25. Every year, Saskatchewan farmers seed 33 million acres of a carbon sink that eats up that dreaded co2.
That should offset any co2 from SaskPower, SaskEnergy and SaskTel. The rest can be deducted from the vast Northern forests carbon sinks.
What a farce we have going from the Eastern weasels !

  26. Ideological purity is important to our virtue signalling eco-nasties.
Obviously if one believes carbon is a pollutant a substance that must be controlled. sequestered and the use of banned, they should practice what they preach.
    Decarbonization.
Prove your intellectual superiority, no more mindless hypocrisy remove that evil carbon from your life.
    Be carbon free.
I forsee a booming business, just as soon as assisted suicide is made legal.
Such fun, hire a doctor, interview all who will pay the excellent fee to be “decarbonized”.
Have these carbon based life forms sign the obvious waver, as agreeing to be decarbonized is essentially suicide.
The all in Green Shaft from the Liberals is excellent timing.
    Gangrene is one nasty infection.
Can’t cure stupid, but you can profit from the delusions of the gullible.

  27. Is there anyone in Canada, including Liberals, that believe we would even be discussing Global Warming if the “Oilsands” were in Quebec?
    Canada-Home of not one adult.
