Nearly over now, but if you aren’t watching you should be.
Trump is getting destroyed and most of it is from his own hand.

**DRUDGE POLL** WHO WON THE 10TH REPUBLICAN DEBATE ’16?
TRUMP 66.53% (40,482 votes)
CRUZ 16.63% (10,119 votes)
RUBIO 12.11% (7,369 votes)
KASICH 3.13% (1,903 votes)
CARSON 1.6% (978 votes)
Total Votes: 60,851
In a country where “destroyed” means did great, does it matter if Trump was destroyed?
yup, Drudge pol shows, Trumped didn’t get 251&1/2 % so he’s destroyed, Fact is that pol shows Trump won by a large majority, so you are of a minority opinion
Rance go take up dog grooming
Rubio looked a little better than the quivering mess that he looked like a few weeks back. Trump talking basically the whole time and at this stage no such thing as bad publicity..
“Destroyed” he says with glee.
Not the same debate I was watching, but then again I guess you cannot fix stupid.
Trump wins
Rubio looked a little better than the quivering mess that he looked like a few weeks back. Trump talking basically the whole time and at this stage no such thing as bad publicity..
On the issue of Trump’s tax returns Ted Cruz showed amazing ignorance. He wanted them released regardless of the fact that Trump was being audited. If he really is going through an audit, that voids the tax returns for the audited period and he can get ammended returns only after the audit is completed. It’s strange Cruz wasn’t aware of that.
I have a singular priority with who I want as the GOP nominee:
Can he beat the democratic nominee (likely hrc)?
Previously I would have ranked Rubio as the top of the heap in that regard.
Cruz has made some powerful arguments in the past about getting the base energized enough to overcome the broader less motivated democratic base. Unfortunately he has not been able to energize the base to vote for him in the primaries – even evangelicals – so I doubt he would be able to do it in the general.
Trump’s greatest strength as a candidate is his fearlessness. He will attack anyone and anybody. And he counterattacks amazingly well.
And that may be what is most important in THIS general. Hrc and the Clinton machine will stop at nothing to tear down the GOP nominee. And I think Rubio could get torn to pieces.
Not trump. Here is a candidate who has promised to prosecute HRC. He will attack hrc as hard and harder than they will attack.
Trump seems to understand that this is political war – a war with no Geneva convention.
I sure hope he proves me right.
He’s talking about past returns – not the upcoming one. As was Romney. And Rubio.
Trump won. He’s the strong horse, he stayed that way. The argument his policy isn’t nuanced enough is bs to mom & pop voter; who want results. Ben Carson had the best moment of the night, when in protest for not being included, interrupted a three way brawl with “can someone attack me please?”
Rubio pulled a disloyal Christie which could cost him dearly when he desperately said Trump was the only one on the state who had hired illegal workers, to which Trump wittily replied “I’m the only one whose hired anybody.”
I think Carson and Kasich support will rally closer to Trump, who seems to know it too.
Trump to Cruz: “If I can’t beat Hillary, you’re really going to get killed.” I agree; double that for Rubio. She’ll play the victim and they’ll pull a Romney. Not Trump, who takes no prisoners. Him and Joe Biden would be a real hoot.
To anyone listening, Trump settled the tax return and litigation issues. No bombshells or indictments here. When something substantive comes to the table, say for example in the Dem’s case with a Hillary under felony investigation, that would be different. Overall possibly Trump took a hit on health care, but who has credibility anywhere on this? The rest was gotcha and glitter.
Summary: not enough to derail Trump. Rubio probably thinks he won but he stopped Cruz’s bleeding with his gloves off approach, and may have hurt himself otherwise. At least the smart media know this Trump guy is a hard read.
It occurs to me that the opponents of trump fail to attack him on his key weakness:
Where are his principles? He is completely without them. Gives money to anyone – Harry Reid, Nancy pelvis , favours policies like partial birth abortion one day then opposes them.
America is built on principles. Trump is built on bombast.
Well argued Gord.
I’m coming around again for exactly the reason you explain.
I was a very early Trump enthusiast saying here a few times that he was the only pol saying out loud the loop playing in my head. It was a new and thrilling experience for me.
No question: it’s flat out WAR in 2016 and Trump is the only true warrior capable of putting a stake in the black heart of HRC. I think you’re right: that is the single key issue.
This is not a time for ideological purity and not a time to focus on the poor character of the man.
Cruz tried that attack specifically saying those names and about the planned parenthood. I doubt it worked because it seems Trump has already planned for it.
Once again Lance, you get to choke on your own words. You want Trump to lose so badly, you can’t even recognize him scoring points left, right and center against these weak and desperate opponents.
Trump WILL be the next president – there’s no doubt anymore. But by all means, keep telling us – like the rest of the wilfully blind media – that he wont. It’s kind of enjoyable now.
Correction: America WAS built on principle … ever since the Clinton admin. we have been instructed that “character doesn’t count”. … which phrase was created to excuse Clinton’s disgusting behavior. We have been told that so long as the economy is rockin … the POTUS can splooge all over a 19yo Intern in the Oval Office. Who cares ? Right ? So Dr. Carson is far too GOOD to be President. Which leaves the rest of the candidates … on both sides of the aisle … all of whom have serious character flaws.
A Trump/Rowe ticket has a nice ring to it…
To understand trump you have to have seen what’s happening in stars with mass illegal immigration. He is the only candidate who will credibly do something about that. That is the issue he v will win on. That’s why the msm is so terrified.
No Gord. Auditing one year could factor into other years and change them too that’s why they’re relevant now, because he’s being audited now. Trump said that, Cruz didn’t listen; then again he’s not really the honest type, looking more establishment every day. Trump seems, like Carson, another victim of the IRS enemies audit parade.
Note to Romney: nobody give a frig about Donald’s tax returns.
“I wish America were healthy enough that Cruz or Rubio would be the best choice.”
You nailed it in spades. America is a very sick Uncle Sam and progressives have brought on this sickness. Trump gives promise of turning this around, the rest are basically same old, same old.
Rubio is angling for a brokered convention. http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/25/politics/rubio-republican-convention/ http://www.wnd.com/2016/02/rubio-prepares-to-take-trump-to-contested-convention/
Attendees at a Manhattan meeting on Wednesday told CNN that Terry Sullivan gave a presentation involving two paths to victory. The individuals, who asked to remain anonymous, said they were given two scenarios that are likely to unfold before July’s Republican convention:
Anti-Trump factions coalesce around Rubio and he uses that momentum to win the nomination.
Rubio fights for the nomination at a brokered convention when none of the candidates receive a simple majority.
As long as there is a constitution the principled base of America exists. Cruz would return America to that base pronto.
I don’t see how it happens unless Cruz quits after Super Tuesday.
All of the primaries from march 15 on are winner take all. Trump could run the table while only getting a third of the vote. So unless the opposing field narrows trump wins a majority of the delegates well before the convention.
Biggest mistake of the primaries was Ted Cruz being nice to trump thinking that he would fade and he would reap his supporters.
What it really did was give trump legitimacy. He should have gone nuclear on him from the very beginning. But the political ecosystem had changed and almost no one knew it.
So Cruz will FIRE the vast majority of Federal Judges who are raging leftists bent on completely ignoring the Constitution ? Otherwise … all he will be doing is giving tough speeches … whoppee …
Conservatives are really showing just what kind of human beings they are by supporting Trump.
Here’s a great little story Buzzfeed put together.
“Donald Trump Said A Lot Of Gross Things About Women On Howard Stern” http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/donald-trump-said-a-lot-of-gross-things-about-women-on-howar?utm_term=.fxJ8x5EVA#.xfxozNKEJ
“Months after Diana was killed in an automobile accident in 1997, Trump told Stern he thinks he could have slept with her, saying she had “supermodel beauty.” In a different interview in 2000, Trump said he would have slept with her “without hesitation” and that “she had the height, she had the beauty, she had the skin.” He added, “She was crazy, but these are minor details.”
Who here really thinks that Trump does his own books or thinks that he would instruct his accountants to cook the books?
Heck John, I could have slept with Diana if only she’d noticed me. I could have shown her that I’m not just another pretty face. All my buddies could have slept with her. Everybody at the bar could have slept with her. Donald? He’s just one of the guys. Just wait until he gets that wall built.
Any thoughts on what bill Clinton thought about (doing to) Diana, John?
Any outrage for Clinton or his enabler wife John?
John – do you have any comment about justin’s mom boning the rolling stones?
*being boned by*
I don’t know….I wouldn’t put anything past the RNC (remember them denying Ron Paul’s delegates at the convention in 2012?)
Does “destroyed” if put in italics mean the opposite?
Diana had a thing for Muzlim Royalty. The people who actually LEND money to Trump. So Trump’s checkbook would NEVER have satisfied Diana like the largess of Royal families. She got really used to yachts on the Riviera, Skiing in the Alps … Trump was wayyyyyyyyy. below her rarified station in life (in her minds eye, anyway).
Bryan Adams wrote a song about her that got him banned from British radio for years (and which technically could have gotten him executed under an archaic law).
Trump’s comments about Diana may have been impolite, but was he wrong? What he said about building a wall along the Mexican border, was he wrong? Were the Europeans who tut-tutted him about the border wall comment the same Europeans busily putting up walls around their own borders now?
The GOP establishment gets the vapors at everything he says, not because he’s necessarily wrong (which happens plenty, just like all of us) but because he flat-out says whatever pops into his head. It hasn’t been focus-grouped and polled and number-crunched and sanitized and infantilized.
Pussies like Boehner and Lindsay Graham and the other Republican Establishment types are so afraid of offending! Well guess what, freedom is offensive to tyrants, and they deserve to be offended. Trump offends and gets the Left’s knickers in knots, and doesn’t give a damn. He drives the Establishment Right to throw everything they can at him, from rage at his stupidity to logic about his lack of guiding political principles to calling his supporters idiots, and he laughs as he watches the poll numbers and wins state after state.
Once elected, most politicians’ approval ratings drop well below 50 percent, often into the 20s. Ralph Klein regularly had approval ratings in excess of 80 percent. He, too, gave both the Left and the establishment Tories the vapors. “Oh no! He said ‘let the Eastern bastards freeze in the dark’, we’re doomed, doomed!” Only about 80% of Albertans were thinking, yeah, effem.
I think he’s going to win the GOP nomination. I don’t think he’ll pick some career politician as his VP candidate, either. He’d pick a guy like Mike Rowe.
Trump, as mentioned above, is the only one willing to deal with the only issue that matters. Not Scalia’s replacement, not defense spending, not H1B1.
Immigration. EVERYTHING runs off that. Law enforcement, deficits, voter legality, sanctuary cities. Fix the border, rest balances itself.
Trump will put up 350-400 on the EC scoreboard.
Trump/Mattis 2016
Countries that will find business becomes real business, and not “business as usual”, under a Trump presidency (e.g. China, Mexico) might be expected to prefer a Democrat to be elected. Same for organizations like the U.N. While they may not get involved directly in the US election, they can still make life easier for the Democrats. I am expecting to see more stories like this one. http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/24/world/un-north-korea-draft-resolution-sanctions/
Any unusual “playing nice” or being cooperative by those who might otherwise not usually do so could be considered a “Trump Dividend”…
Didn’t get to watch the debates, TV at work is set for FOX News.
Sometimes it makes me want to start shooting…. Just Kidding….
But if this bastard, Al Sharpton is willing to move anywhere- maybe to Canada?
Sharpton..
“If Donald Trump is the nominee, I’m open to support anyone [else], while I’m also reserving my ticket to get out of here if he wins, only because he’d probably have me deported anyway,” Sharpton told attendees, who responded in laughter.
I would consider voting several times for Trump …
Trump was the alpha male on that stage; people will be voting for the alpha male.
I agree, Trump will not get the majority of Women votes.
But if he racks up the Latino, White Male, Bible Trumpeters,
and just 25 percent of the Black Vote,
Its party over for the Democrats, and fu(king lying Rinos..

Don’t you just love reading about Liberals promising to leave the country ??
Lance, you may CLAIM that Trump lost, but it is rather interesting you neglected to say that Rubio won.
It is too lare anyway one way or the other. The momentum has swung so far in Trump’s favor as to be insurmountable.
There is only one clear rationale why Rubio is still in this despite not having secured one single state – he is hoping for a brokered convention. And if Rubio and his Establishment backers play the brokered convention game, and they are somehow able to install their candidate as the nominee despite the delegates, then they will fatally wound whoever the Establishment’s handpicked choice is. There will be open war within the Republican Party. Will it be worth it, Lance?
Trump is the only non politician with a chance to be President. That’s what the USA needs, an outsider to shake things up and clean house. Too many insiders sucking the country dry.
Same in Canada, there should be two terms max for MP’s and MLA’s, no pensions but pay them $500K per year while serving.
Maybe taxpayers will get quality candidates instead of the losers we get who have failed at everything they tried up until being elected.
I think conservatives should be encouraging Liberals to be leaving in droves. Running a country without Liberals running interference all over the place is like going deer hunting without your accordion….
I bet Cruz and Rubio wish they were getting “destroyed” like Trump. All the way to the Republican nomination.
No, he’s built on negotiating skills, and he is a master at that. Nothing in the political process speaks to principles. Trump is far more principled than most people know, because he doesn’t publicise his principled actions. Nobody wants to pull back the curtain, and look behind, and he generally won’t allow that anyway. For those who have, there’s lots of evidence that he is genuinely a caring guy.
One item you all have missed is the introduction of new communications media – in the 1920’s, commercial radio was just beginning, and Hitler rode its power. Goebbels noted, “What the press was to the 19th century, radio will be to the twentieth!”. He might well add today “and Facepalm and Twitspace will be to the 21st!”.
It was said of Napoleon “he understood the grammar of gunpowder”; Trump understands the grammar of social media. In less immediate times, Trump would have had to apologize for some of his more outlandish remarks. He doesn’t today because he understands mass-memerized minds don’t remember anything from one day to the next; they are too easily distracted by what comes next, so he just ensures there’s a new dancing bear each day. The media, knowingly or not, plays right along, ensuring him free publicity and saving his war chest.
Trump plants anchor after anchor in the Facetwit world: “against illegal immigration”, “wants American jobs”, “isn’t a politician like the others”, whilst anchoring his opponents to less flattering rocks: “Is Ted Cruz even eligible?”, “Is Marco Rubot a robot?”, “low enerJeb”, etc.
He realizes that as the cultural whirlwind of an election cycle blows through, only those anchors will remain. It’s not like we vote for anyone based on policy. (C’mon, tell me Bambam’s last election promises on climate, on jobs, on education.. it doesn’t matter now, and it doesn’t matter then, as we know he had no intentions of doing anything said at the time) Most of the sheeple can’t understand most policy points, let alone remember them in the ballot box. But the anchors abide.
What’s truly amazing is Trump, a multi-billionaire at anyone’s evaluation, has successfully planted the most important anchor: “underdog”. Trump not only has the Democrats against him; he has the entire Republican party and media gunning for him (literally, in Douthat’s case?). Americans love their underdogs, especially when TPTB try to squash them, and they comes back brasher than ever.
In 2024, if we’re still here, I expect that we’ll be seeing a new technology at work in establishing political connections. Right now, Trump is the master of the moment.
I have been monitoring CNN and their spin on the debate, this AM. From the highlights they are showing, it seems clear to me Trump successfully countered most every attack. Some were damn solid counter punches, in fact.
How anyone can seriously claim he was destroyed, well, it must be lance’s cryptic sarcasm at work again. Funny how some people can’t simply disapprove of something, they have to go all out nuclear, 5 alarm, must-win-or-I’ll cry attack mode on those with differing opinions. And to those who claim NOT to understand Trump’s support here, then you simply aren’t listening. I understand CLEARLY why many can’t stand Trump, so how could anyone claiming to be informed not at least perceive the appeal his presence has in both our corrupted countries.
The GOP talking heads have been lining up on CNN to undermine Trump. It is clear to me now that Political Correctness has so deeply infiltrated American society that the Republican Party itself is just another bastion of the disease.
BTW, I find both Rubio and Cruz at least as sleazy as many find Trump, they just demonstrate different forms of sleaze.
Lance,
As much as you wish your fantasies to come true, on this posting you have lost your credibility.
You are clearly in denial, fantasy … I usually come to SDA for reality.
You sound like a liberal stating what he wishes rather than what is …
Cheers,
Go Trump!
AMERICA IS A BUSINESS … It’s time to treat it as such. Most politicians aren’t business men. They don’t understand economy so the bankers run wild. Trump is feared because the everyone at the trough sees their gravy train in jeopardy. That is the fear. He will run America like a business with a bottom line.
Other’s fear Trump because he doesn’t feed the American people the reassuring pablum you get from those other twits and twats.
