Oh, I know, Promoting Cynicism in Politics.
In Alberta, corporations and unions are banned from donating to political parties under legislation passed by Notley’s government last spring.
This, on the heels of cancelling a $1k/person pre-event to “offer closer access to Notley and her legislature members”.
Pay to play, just not for the little people.
More.

Duh.
Some animals are more equal that others.
The champaign socialists never dreamed they would fall into power.
Of course they believe their shit does not stink.
Being our intellectual superiors, of course those rules they have imposed do not apply to “Party Members in Good Standing”.
And with the Presstitutes help, it is only a crime when a taxpayer does it.
Parasites being exempt.
Why put up with 3 1/2 more years?
One by-election at a time, harvest time is coming.
I also smell Crony Socialism at work!
Leftist/socialist/SJW corruption = good
Conservative corruption = bad, evil, the end of civilization
It only took about 40 weeks for the NDP to become corrupt. It took the PCs 40 years.
So, as an Albertan, who actually is running this place? Which NDP faction outside of Alberta, as un-elected overseers, are the bigger movers & shakers? Because I want to know so that I can direct my questions to the right people. These local clowns are just bench warmers a far as I’m concerned.
We had 40 odd years of PROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVE screwing around here, it didn’t just happen overnight, replaced by an equally corrupt bunch of commies who seem to get their marching orders from other corrupt shatholes of Confederation. If it is union based, it’s corrupt. Jim Prentice airdropped in to set us straight from Tranna, should give you a hint, even though he was born here. Ontario provincial politics figures large in my opinion. Any thoughts?
It’s pretty clear that the provincial NDP is nothing but window dressing. Alberta is run by communist carpetbaggers from outside the province, if not the country.
It’s also evident that Red Rachel’s policies are based purely on ideology and not on any practical political or economic realities. She is determined to bring Alberta to its knees by destroying everything that was good and right about the province.
She has good company now in the likes of the LPOC (with added input now from Wynnetario provincial operatives), as we now have a moratorium on tanker traffic for NE BC (sucks to be Gateway) and now using the NEB to intrude directly into Alberta provincial resources by examining if upstream O&G meets the smell test of moving western crude to market via Energy East, before it is even injected. Mostly down an existing pipeline I might also point out.
So, where’s the equivalent moratorium on eastern coastal waters on tanker traffic? That pipeline from Maine to Montreal should be shut, pending a review of upstream activities in any one of the source countries supplying crude to central Canada. And why are we still importing Saudi crude, when there is a readily available supply of western Canadian select to replace it, right now? That WAS what the NEP was all about, albeit with a “made in Canada” price tag imposed by a virtual crushing majority of central Canadian LPOC voters under Trudeau The First. Like all that western crude was theirs for the taking. I have a brother in law down there that feels that oil stuff is “Canada’s” not the respective provinces who have the constitutional rights to their own resources. He’s a slice of the group think from Tranna.
Guess the Fed LPOC now wish to eliminate any possibility of a resurgence of economic fortunes of any province outside Upper & Lower Canada that will challenge their political/economic hegemony over us all. I’m surprised that the local commies in Quebec weren’t up in arms over that new NEB upstream mandate, being such a distinct province & all. But then they are being sued by the consortium of producers for closing down the Anticosti Island exploration permits, after they paid for the rights to explore.
Also, BC doesn’t escape on the issue of trying to finagle a cut of royalties & taxes remitted to a sovereign province on their resources, as baksheesh to move a commodity to markets outside of their jurisdiction, to foreign markets. Christy & the BC Tribes are bought & paid for US obstructionists. Alberta should just shut NE BC gas out & strand it in NE BC, rip up that Trade Investment & Labor Movement Agreement we signed with them a few years ago to eliminate any restrictions on BC trades, or professionals from working in Alberta’s oil patch, impose tariffs on BC lumber, wine, fruits & veggies, agreements on joint hyrdo power production & anything else we can think of to piss ’em off because, well blockading pipelines.
I’d say Confederation is a wash in Alberta & other western, landlocked provinces right now. What are we getting but a bill for Equalization, reduced federal transfers for welfare & EI qualifications, or health? Just the 6 year period 2006-2011 (I can’t find ready numbers that include 2012-2015, nor could I find for the period from when O&G took off in 1993 on onwards) Alberta sent some $223 billion to Ottawa & got back 50 cents on the dollar and Albertan’s are vilified for being “greedy”, “didn’t diversify” blah, blah, blah, “Tulips”. Yeah, like Ford was gonna build auto plants out here when their market was central Canada. Ontario & points east can take a long hard suck on my arse! The new federal Carbon Tax is just a stunt to move more cash into the pockets of the Wynne/McGuinty Black Hole of Fiancial Hell from other provinces. Brad Wall has their number on that one.
How long did it take to get rid of the Crow Rate & the WCB? Wars have been fought over stuff like this. Personally, I’d like to bring the whole house of cards down & let the chips fall where they may. Watch the Canadian politcal class & all their baggage scurry into hiding when the rope comes out. Or swing in the breeze.
Corruptistan. There will be a reckoning.
The problem with B. C. is that it’s Canada in miniature. The Vancouver area rules and the rest of the province (except for the Island, which is on a different planet all by itself) exists to be bled and exploited.
I grew up in the Peace Country in the northeast. That part of B. C. had more in common with Edmonton than Vancouver, partly because the latter is on the other side of the Rockies. It wouldn’t take much to bring Lotusland West to its knees. Simply cut the B. C. Hydro transmission line from the Peace River dams at Prince George and the Lower Mainland will grind to a halt.
I started grad studies at UBC in the late 1970s and left a year later. I think the number of right-wingers that I knew there I could count off on one hand. It was like the region was populated by nothing but smug leftists and leftover hippies.
Should western Canada secede from the Dominion, Vancouver should be left to fend for itself. The attitude of entitlement I encountered while I was a student there wasn’t much different than what the east has towards the west.
There is enough wealth in Alberta to take up a collection of say 500,000 or more if needed and offer it to enough of these NDPee miscreants and malcontents to resign their seats, if this happened it would trigger an election cause if this current bunch of clowns are allowed 4 years this province will be over 200 billion id debt, and that’s serious.
