The normal estimates for how many natives were in North America pre-Columbus is 2 to 5 million. Hunter-gatherer cultures cannot support dense populations. By comparison at the start of the American civil war there were 33 million people in the USA & CSA combined.
The human centred approach to climate science is getting ridiculous. Ice ages and mini ice ages came and went long before humans and agriculture. Both Homo sapiens and Neanderthals existed during the last big ice age. So obviously it is something non-human that triggers glacial periods. Of course that would mean that the reverse, global warming, is also triggered by something non-human. Well that won’t do…..people may have heretical thoughts that *anthropogenic* human warming (AGW) may not be all about humans, let alone catastrophic AGW (CAGW). Thank Gaia that science is removing temptations that could lead to impure climate thoughts and climate heresy. Just say 3 Hail Al Gores, put your carbon taxes in the collection plates and climate change deny no more.
I’ll file it with the, neanderthals-stopping-an-ice-age article that appeared in Scientific American after the lefties took control of it and ran a previously credible magazine into the ground.
Most of Canada was beneath over a mile of ice 10,000 years ago, before Europeans came. If climate change is primarily man made, that must have been an awful lot of buffalo chips being burnt to melt all that ice. Maybe there’s a law suit in there somewhere?
And on Year 1052 of the birth of our Solar System a passing proto star mass enveloped the cloud that would eventually become known as Earth super heating that material which began the process of warming that is now just revealing itself as global warming.
